In order to maintain its luxury lifestyle, Uncle Boudewijn is forced to rent the upper floor to the beautiful, single Cathelijne. But is Cathelijne as honest as she looks? And what does she carry in her large, heavy suitcase?
The kittens are hungry, but fortunately café 'De kom' opens its doors today and barfish Annie has provided delicious snacks. Hopefully they will not be caught by Boudewijn, because he already has a hard time even without illegal kittens in his house.
Boudewijn's bank account is still empty. Strange, because Cathelijne says she just transferred the rent. There are strange noises coming from the attic floor. Ed does not really trust it. The pest control comes to examine the house and the kittens just manage to escape.
Ed is welcoming the very first bed and breakfast guest for Boudewijn: Isabelle, vine snail and snail artist. Mandarin suffers from heights, but Hugo has a brilliant plan to overcome it. Hope it turns out fine.
While Boudewijn is in the middle of a karma enema, he catches Hugo and Mandarin in his living room. He leaves Cathelijne and the kittens on the street without mercy. But Hugo would not be Hugo if he would just let that happen.
It is blazing hot on the Kattenlaan, Mandarin is afraid that he will melt. Boudewijn regrets that he has let Cathelijne and the kittens stay and is getting annoyed by the talkative rabbit Maurice, who is on honeymoon by himself to get over his animal shelter past and learn to love himself.
Today there is a talent show in café 'De kom'. Ed gives Mandarin singing lessons and Luna wonders if she also has talent. The swinging stick-insect Flang is already convinced that he will win, but then he does not know Hugo and Boudewijn yet.
The long-haired guinea pig Gilles is a guest at the bed and breakfast. He is afraid of friction and is rather scary. The kittens find him scary at first, but then discover that a sensitive guinea pig is hidden under his frightening exterior.
It is autumn and Boudewijn is getting very melancholy from all those falling leaves. In the bed & breakfast, the overstrained police officer Wolfgang is a guest with his beloved plushy Onnepon, which to his great horror disappears at a certain moment. Ed also turns out to be missing stuff and Luna has not been seen anywhere for ages, what would have happened?
Unexpectedly Ed's brother Nico is at the door and Ed is not so happy about it. Ed has to cook a big dinner for Boudewijn and leave Nico alone in his house, but whether that is such a good idea?
It has been snowing and the entire Kattenlaan is white. The kittens have never seen anything so beautiful. At Boudewijn the bailiff is standing on the sidewalk, he still has one day to pay his debts, otherwise they'll be booted out. Ed and Boudewijn organize a 'garage sale', hopefully the proceeds from the sale of Boudewijns beautiful things will be enough to pay the debts.
It is Christmas and Boudewijn is really looking forward to celebrating it on his own with a huge meal. Santa brings presents to everyone, except Boudewijn, who can not understand why he is being skipped ...
It is New Year's Eve and the kittens are convinced that they can stay up until twelve o'clock. Boudewijn is eagerly awaiting the results of the Keiharde Knakenloterij. He follows the advice of Ada, the clairvoyant mussel, and gives one of his lottery tickets to Ed. Moments later Fancy Fred of the Keiharde Knakenloterij is at the door, but who is he there for?
