Great show must do a re watch
Although a bit dark, it was intriguing and my SO even got hooked. Acting is great and the scenarists have been creative to keep it going with so many twists.
The last season was phenomenal. Man did COVID ever screw up the continuity of shows, eh? At the end of the final season, there is a kind of a 'making of' 30 minutes or so in length. Highly recommend watching! Jason Bateman did a fantastic job of directing whilst playing one of the leads. I must change my ranking to a 10.
I'm pretty sure whoever is going to watch this show has watched breaking bad , in this show, it's all about the cartel menace, making it different from Breaking Bad.
In BB they didn't feature the cartel manace but in ozark it's all about it, you literally feel the tranquility before chaos and bgm is way too good.
NOTE!! I WILL NOT RAT U IN THIS REVIEW
CZ a review with a spoiler is not review its a opinion then.
s1 s2 :good 7-8*
s3: 6* brother insantiy issue was drag
s4-p1: okey.
ends in cliffhanger. power balance has changed.
bigboss in jail. boss-nephew is tickingbomb. dangerous to family.
s4-p2:
it was boring until they take care of nephew. after that , it was more enjoyable for me.
i liked ep10 and following eps better.
its good if they end the series. it would be tasty like this if they don't drag it like supernatural, walking dead.
This is a great show. Its getting compared to Breaking Bad and while I think BrBa is a lot better they are really different shows. Ozark isn't trying to copy, it is doing its own thing. The show is very dark and it doesn't pull any punches. Some of it is not easy to watch. A lot of twists you don't expect. Jason Bateman gives a fantastic performance. He is perfect for a snarky asshole financial adviser. Hopefully he does more serious/non comedic roles.
Can't wait for season 2. Assuming Netflix will pick it up.
This and SnowFall are the best tv shows on this year.
Warning: Free up about 10 hours of you day because there is no way you will want to stop binge-watching the entire 10 episodes.
Fantastic, dark and beautiful. Even if I wasn't bias as a Jason Bateman fan, I would class this series as one of the best on Netflix.
OK, it is a bit of a Breaking Bad story line in some respects, but there is nothing wrong with that.
If the regular TV networks are still not scared of Netflix original output then they are the fools there shows show them to be.
More more more please!!
Great series, except for the confusing ending... why did the final season need to be split into two, and have 4 additional episodes, if they wanted to end it in such a ridiculous way... what does it even mean?? That they almost got away, and Jonah dragged them back into the murk with his act? Why did Camila have to kill Ruth? So what happens to the FBI approved laundering in the Casino, now that Ruth is dead? Were they meant to close plot holes or create new ones by the end?
#SoConfusing :confused::person_facepalming_tone1:♂
still one of the best netflix original series even with the last few episode of the series, it is still great with good story telling. There are episodes that will be 5/5 stars best TV episodes that look forward to. Highly recommend and enjoy the story, at first I'm Byrde's family team then last season happened then became full force Team Ruth (always rooting for Ruth in other season) (Julia Garner acting in this show is phenomenal everybody who is a fan of this show loves her) didn't care about other characters only Ruth. And I love the romance between Ruth and spoiler big fan of them and the guy's character and actor who portrays him.
Ozark is TV analog of Worm/Pact by Wildbow
Season 4 is possibly the biggest Netflix L ever
To me it just got a bit boring and predictable in season 3 and continued into season 4. the brother story line was a huge waste of time and then it was followed by the dad. Instead of sticking with doing crimes and laundering money, they dropped down into the soap opera drama. They also started to add a lot of unbelievable events, such as frank sr. showing up at Darlene's house alone and unarmed. really? in the end, the wrong people died...
the first couple of seasons are fantastic as the story unravels, but most (if not all) of the characters are profoundly unlikeable and it really makes it hard to cheer for anyone
This is a masterpiece! Jason Bateman is the man!
first and last season were entertaining. but the transported morality by the plot is a bit boring all the way long.
Let's start by saying, this show is very good. It is also very gritty and will certainly not be for everyone. Also, I am biased on the matter because I am a sucker for Jason Bateman and he does not disappoint at all! If you are a fan of the Breaking Bad / Good Girls type plot, this is a must see for you. Personally, this does not reach the highs of Breaking Bad, but it is surely one of Netflix's greatest series of all time.
Average Season Review: 8.38/10
Recommendation: At Least Give it a Whirl (For Breaking Bad Fans)
The last season is a horror and a nonsense.
A practical guide on how to destroy a good series in 14 episodes.
this is one fucking awesome show
There is not a single likable character in this show.
Season 3 was great but the show takes a nose dive after episode 7...too much focus on mental health. Not really sure what that has to do with the show...ruined the season with the side story line which became the main focus of the show. I don’t know why the writers feel this type of direction is good.
One of the best show I have seen this year ! Netflix gonna be the best original & creative platform, thank you Netflix !
So how exactly is he laundering money? He is spending it on tons of stuff through the businesses names but how is he getting that money back?
production is currently due to start in November 2020, with safety measures in place against the virus. “We're going to start November 9.
I recommended this show to a lot of people. But with the finale and how things were beginning to tie up, I began to regret and despise it more and more. I understand why it got to this ending. It doesn't mean I like that it did.

Season 3 of this is dropping this week! Great timing.
very good show; I am eager to this how this will end !
im not Jason Bateman fan but man i love this show! my favorite characters are Juth and Jonnah
Season 1 and 2 were filmed with RED cameras with an on-camera white balance which is why it had a bluish tint. In season 3, they switched to Sony Venice and a vintage Leica R lens which is why it looked so much better.
fantastic show. i love it.
I decided to watch this show just now, and I have to say that the mix between Fargo and Breaking Bad looks promising...
Very well done, every season gets better!
The characters have depth and the actors bring them to life. The production team is incredible.
Season 3 stands as one of the best seasons released so far in 2020.
2.6 points -> Acting and Characters (0-3)
1.6 points -> Plot development (0-2)
1.6 points -> Cinematography (0-2)
0.8 points -> originality (0-1)
0.8 points -> Based on Genre / Theme (0-1)
0.8 -> Overall Quality (0-1)
Aka. 8.2 points
Occasionally interesting, but mostly dull. The characters are neither compelling nor likeable. The episodes are too long and there is little payoff to the amount of time invested. If I had to rank the seasons, I'd say season 1 is the best, then it's downhill from there.
Overall, not worth watching.
There is not enough cursing in this show. It would be much better if every word was replaced with an expletive instead of limiting it to only all the adjectives and adverbs. Missed chance.
I thought this was a slow burner at the start but the setting and characters keep you invested throughout and it only gets better.
I LOVED THIS SHOW!!!!!! SEASON 3 LEFT OFF ON SUCH A CLIFFHANGER!!!!!
A tour de force from Jason Bateman.
Great show and it's even getting better as it goes. Definitely worth watching!
Friday 27th March 2020. season 3
Excellent series, I watched 3 seasons and it gets better every season. I'm looking forward to season 4.
A Great Value Kirkland Signature Breaking Bad
I really love this show, I recommend it to everyone that havenbt seen it yet.
Season 3, began a much bigger trope for the family and more light into the life of cartel. An ending that is riveting for another season encore. I think the writers and directors knowingly understand elements into make such a brilliant slow pace show. It's just getting started!
What a great show. Cant wait for season 2
20 episodes isn't enough! I stayed in the house for an entire day to binge watch season 2. I can't get enough of this show.
new season announced, March 27th
Love this show. One of the best, on TV.
Really slow to start, but I found myself so wrapped up in this show's twisted dark world by the season's end. Drug related crime shows have become an over-saturated sub-genre since "Breaking Bad" became a hit, but this show manages to stand out while not actually being all that unique. I don't know, there was just something about the tone and cinematography and pacing that really drew me in. Cannot wait for season 2.
I really enjoyed this show. One of the best to come from Netflix in my opinion. I see why people compare this show to Breaking Bad but that show is far better than Ozark at this point. I'm curious where this show will go next year. I would certainly recommend this show if you liked Breaking Bad.
I kept hoping something better would come towards the end of the season but it never did.
To me it was very predictable. It didn't surprise me once.
The normal family drama cliches (where you always expect the kids to do something stupid and be annoying) didn't add to the drug story which was also thin.
Solid performances by the leads but nothing great. Especially Bateman seems emotionless at times.
Color grade was too much. Got tired of the constant blue tint.
I hope next season will be better but it certainly didn't left me expecting for it...
Can't really trust the ratings anymore...
The plot itself is great, but the characters and sideplots are not very compelling. The crime aspect is also really interesting but often gets interrupted with mundane things like misbehaving children. Easily could be a 8/9 rating show for its content but doesnt quite reach its full potential because of its flaws in having compelling characters or side plots or even sometimes the twists. The direction and cinematography are great but the editing is just alright. Episodes 8-10 are probably the worst episodes of the 1st season but I will be following.
If you’re not hooked in the first 15 mins, you have no soul. This is one of my favorite series on Netflix.
Breaking Bad with less fun and more rednecks.
Binged watched s3. Dragged a little around 6-7 but ended with a bang.
Season 3 will premiere mid-2020.
season 3 will be later in 2019
What a great show. I'm not sure if its fare to compare this show, to breaking bad, just becouse the plot happened to move round drugs, cartel, mafia and the like. Those are just props. This show its unfortunatelly more obscure , and not allow any funny dark humor either. Which doesn't make it worse, on the contrary. It does suits it better. Very well acted and written, scenery, plot and music trap you and never leave you till you seen the whole thing. Cant wait for season 3.
An all new white collar Breaking Bad?… It surely has the potential to become its succesor. It has all the ingredients a Mexican cartel, local independent drug operator, a lot of mishaps, and a run of the mill criminal that bonds with Bateman, the financial chemist. He reads peoples’ motivations and needs like an open book and sees a Casino where others see just a few acres of land. He thinks bigger and bolder than everyone else that it’s why he’s still alive.
Dark and Twisted. Much different then I expected and they don't pull any punches. It gets dirty, graphic, and gruesome, not something I was expecting but made for a great show. Twists and turns in the story that are really unexpected but make for a great show, I can't wait for Season 2. Jason Bateman was fantastic as the main character, a smart financial advisor faced with an impossible situation.
Must Watch
Loved it. I highly recommend this series.
VERY good show... keeps you entertained. Season one finale was unexpected. Can't wait for season 2 - hopefully they'll keep this writting going.
One of the best show this year, the pilot episode is amazing much better IMO than Breaking Bad and way darker.
I recommend this for everyone who liked Breaking Bad.
This show is superb. Enjoyed so much, Netflix is really kicking some creative and artistic ass...
Only watched the first season. It felt like Breaking Bad ordered from AliExpress.
This show is mediocre garbage that tries to pull inspiration from numerous other works and fails spectacularly. Lackluster and oftentimes boring and predictable script writing. Nonsensical plot lacking in tension or believability. Do yourself a favor and skip this train wreck and indulge in much finer works like Breaking Bad or The Sopranos.
This show is absolutely fantastic. Jason Batemon is superbly suited for this role, I could not imagine anyone else as Marty Byrde. This show will hook you from the first episode.
Massa! Fotografia animal! A Netflix esta de parabéns!
Awesome. Bateman does a great job from the start and gets better throughout. Lots of well written storyline sand well cast characters
This show is definitely watchable, don't get me wrong, but it felt more like different pieces of successful shows than a show of its own.
So freaking good that it has to be watched all in one day :P
This was great to watch. Recommend...
Why is every scene blue?
It's the only thing that stroke me about the Pilot.
It's all so pointless and dumb. There's no need to make the name of the majestic Breaking Bad to see that this is a sub-sub-par product. The scenes just make no sense. Everything is going terribly in the story, but everyone is so chill about it, maybe a few fake tears here and there... Not even a comedy show should have this kind of directing.
Looks like everything Netflix touches lately becomes trash. I'm disgusted.
Yet another show we didn't feel the need of.
Tune in next week to see how this guys life becomes more screwed up :flushed:
This show is just awesome. I was shocked to see that Jason Bateman could really act. He is perfect in this role. (And no I'm not related to him LOL) Can't wait for the next season to see what kind of badass Wendy becomes, and what kind of trouble Marty and Ruth can get into next
The homosexuality killed it for me. I really hope that type of stuff isn't in every episode.
I’m still not entirely sure what’s FBI agent Miller’s motivation?
If Breaking Bad is the best TV series every made, this is the wannabe.
It's decent and watchable until it suddenly goes full men-are-trash feminist hate in Season 3. I stopped midway through it. Pity.
Darlene Snell < Carole Baskin lol
My intensions was just to check out this show, as I love Jason Bateman's work. I totally dig the way Netflix releases shows; a season at at time. I watched all the epsoides in two days. Can not wait for season 2.
Excellent show. Very well written.
One of the all time best shows on tv. Marty Byrd makes the show because he out smarts everyone, but is a innocent man. But Wendy, is really starting to take over the show. Simply because she is so dark.
is there a season 3? read somewhere there was.....

Season four has been a serious let down,i expect a lot better from a top class show.
