This Island paradise is a must do destination for four wheel drivers and can sometimes show it's claws - with some very technical driving - such as seep sand, salt water and coffee rock, but fear not Pat has all the tips and tricks to get you from one side to the other.
In 1962, Reg Sprigg and party were the first to complete a motorised crossing of the Simpson Desert. It was this feat of endurance and navigational skills that inspired adventurer and tour guide Vic Widman to replicate this journey in 2012
