Loved Ellen Barkin here. I find this maybe the best (and funniest) ep so far, thanks largely to her, and her vs Lyonne. The scene where the latter kept popping up around the stage to hiss presumed warnings to the former is pure gold.
After the greatness of the previous episode, I found this a bit so-so. Good cast but Charlie's unraveling of the mystery seemed overly convenient / too easy. One thing it did do was remind me about Charlie's gift, which is meant to be the unique selling point of this show, so it did that right.
The best episode so far. A really good setup that kept me guessing even beyond the death, and then a glorious farce as it all fell apart.
Yes, there were contrivances as there always are in crime drama but my main complaint is that it didn't last longer. I'd gladly watch a feature length version of this episode.
To theater insider-y for me.
Worst episode so far :(
First 4 were great. This was a utter bs story.
So basically every episode has the same formula. And somehow it’s so easy for her to solve the murders. Good production value but it’s boring seeing the same thing over and over. And Natasha Lyon is so annoying. After few episodes you realize her acting is the same as Russian Doll.
Thought this show was pretty good, until i recognised Ellen "Smurf" Barkins shrill voice - then i remembered how shit an actress she was and i couldn't concentrate on the rest of the episode. Boooooo
