11x01 Hunting for the One [Emily & Ken]

  • 2017-10-12T01:00:00Z45m

Emily and Ken have a baby on the way and are searching for the perfect suburban home close to their family. Their condo sold more quickly than expected, so they're crashing in her sister's basement until they find their new home. With a target area of only a few blocks, the brothers find it tricky to hunt for a fixer-upper. Later, it's up to Jonathan to transform a dated canvas into a mid-century modern masterpiece, but the costly surprises start piling up even before the walls come down.

The Property Brothers attempt to combine a couple's different wish lists in order to help them put down roots in Nashville, but the house hunt hits a snag with a substantial mark-up of a century-old contender. With the budget stretched to the max, Jonathan must walk a tightrope to avoid any unanticipated costs.

A busy woman packs up her frantic life and moves to Nashville to begin living the life of her dreams. Drew helps her find a cozy, eclectic pad in an up-and-coming neighborhood that's big enough for a new dog and visitors from back home. Jonathan works with her imaginative boho-chic style, but struggles to keep the renovation on track after unexpected repairs start piling up.

After living in a rental property for three years, a family realizes they've outgrown their home and is ready to find a permanent place in their exclusive lakefront community. Drew and Jonathan take charge trying to find a home in the immediate neighborhood and quickly run into unforeseen obstacles. While the family's taste for equestrian chic proves expensive, the project is completed after a surprise contribution comes in from an unexpected source.

A couple tries to move closer to family and friends to cut back on their morning commute. While they agree a move is necessary, they're miles apart when it comes to design. The Property Brothers step in to find them the perfect suburban home but immediately run into potentially serious issues. Once they settle on a home and the walls come down, Jonathan finds himself fighting to keep the budget under control. After he gets the project back on track, a snag at city hall comes up that may bring all their hard work to a screeching halt.

Jonathan and Drew accelerate the house hunt for a close-knit but cramped family of four. Jonathan is determined to deliver a family-friendly space for entertaining, but his budget goes out the window after the design-challenged homeowner goes rogue.

Frustrated by their urban house hunt, a couple agrees to a radically different approach as Jonathan and Drew take them on a tour of an amazing rural community. They are soon sold on the long list of perks, and it's up to Jonathan to come up with an open-concept design that dovetails with his clients' lifestyle.

Newlyweds with two dogs and a mile-long wish list are determined to move out of their cramped condo into the perfect modern property, and the Property Brothers promise to make it happen with a fixer-upper. After Drew successfully coaches the couple through a potential bidding war, Jonathan wrestles with asbestos, ancient wiring and structural issues to keep the ambitious project on time and on budget.

The Property Brothers help family of five search for a forever home in their high-demand school district. Drew somehow manages to come up with a short list, and then it's up to Jonathan to straighten a seriously sagging century home. The problems start piling up as soon as the walls come down, and then the renovation is thrown completely off track by a hole that threatens to sink the entire project.

A single mom adjusts to her new life by selling her sprawling Nashville dream home and searching for a more manageable property. Drew and Jonathan promise a worry-free transition and begin their search for a low-maintenance urban property with plenty of country flair. Jonathan is able to transform a tired old ranch home into a fabulous showpiece and Drew commemorates the occasion by organizing an official welcome-to-the-neighborhood block party.

A super-planner that's been crashing at her best friend's place knows it's time to find a Nashville pad of her own. After her best friend comes up with an off-the-market solution, Jonathan tackles an ambitious renovation, but the list of add-ons keeps piling up.

Empty nesters that sold their home the first day it was on the market want to find a deluxe retreat where they can hang with their grandsons in style. Drew lines up family-friendly properites, and Jonathan has big plans to inject French country charm into a dated fixer-upper.
