Why is Addisons hair blowing in the wind?
I'm still in two minds about the change to Quantum Leaping tech that they made, namely that they removed the hippy dippy Aura concept and went with "teleporting your mind into someone else's body" because if they used the Aura concept the plot point of "seeing Leaper X's real face " would have worked, but how is it that we're able to see his face when his mind is just inside someone's body?
The other dumb thing in this ep is they are wringing their hands over the idea of a Musk or a Zuck using a copy of the tech but they're okay with this one being a fucking U.S. military project? They don't even consider the army would build another one as a backup or even that the original project was shut down 30 years ago precisely to give the appearance of the concept being a dead-end so they could run another one in secret?
Well anyway it's not as bad as I thought it would be, the "team procedural" approach isn't bad.
Never mind the plot holes, in this episode you hear “Policy of Truth” by Depeche Mode in the background, but this wasn’t released until March 1990 and the episode takes place in October 1989!
I found this idea of going to the future interesting. And of course the October 31 episode would be about Halloween. Hahahahha
Genuinely and happily, surprised by this episode. From the preview last week, I didn't have that much hype for it but I definitely stand corrected. Ben learning more about himself and connecting the leap to his own experience is awesome to see. I feel like with Sam there were little moments of this but not as prominent as it has been in this series.
The leap itself was pretty decent just in terms of setting a sense of urgency. Having something set to happen within a short amount of time provided a good amount of tension for this one where it didn't really have much time to waste. However, it is definitely one of those leaps where the people in them or the person leapt into doesn't matter that much. I don't even think we can a full-on mirror shot in this episode.
The present day stuff and looking into who this mysterious other leaper is was interesting. My initial thought was that it could be Sam and that be a way to get around Scott Bakula not being in the show but it seems like I'm wrong. I'll definitely be interested to see where they take this angle but it is stuff like this that plays to the advantage of this series over the original. We didn't get to see this kind of stuff by the time the evil leapers were introduced.
The next episode looks like an absolute trip. I will say that they are definitely going in a very Sam direction with Ben from the preview with him saying there has to be a scientific reason whatever happens in the episode. Maybe would've been cool for Ben to be a believer in the supernatural or something but still interested none the less.

"This makes my head hurt", bro WTF are you talking about!!
You're literally the director of the entire quantum time travel facility, but you somehow can't wrap your head around people leaping back from a couple of years in the future ? GTFO here with that BS.
Man, the writers better drop this dumbing shit down trope, so badly written.
