I actually didn’t hate this! I always thought Hiram was from NY so I didn’t get his obsession w Riverdale, but it makes sense now
where is the toni topaz origin story ? that’s the true crime here .
It was already strange enough when the main cast played the younger versions of their characters' parents. Now we have Mark Consuelos playing the parent of his character, while his actual son plays the younger version of his character. Wild.
As for the episode, eh. This was just a fairly lazy rip-off of things like the Godfather and Breaking Bad. And the whole backstory about palladium is very clearly some shit they pulled out of their ass for this season, and was not some crucial plot point that's always been present in the background.
How exactly does Hiram take over the crime lord position? Sure, he ran Vito out of town. (Side note - why would a crime lord be afraid of one lone teenager? But, of course, that's not the first time this show has done that!) But that doesn't mean Hiram can just step into the role and perform it. He doesn't have the resources, connections, or manpower that Vito had. They don't magically transfer to the next person.
One of the strongest episodes of this season.
This was the most interesting episode of the last few seasons :joy:
