Overall pretty awesome show. The music is always on point, the child actors are amazing and the story is interesting and captivating start to finish.
Would love a second season be it a sequel to this or maybe an anthology series a la Fargo.
A Stephen King and Stephen Spielberg Mix in the style of an 80s show. Beautifully played by every actor, the soundtrack is always on point, beautiful colours, beautiful dialogues. Amazing show. Well made, Netflix!
hate me, but im just not into it at all.
I don't get what all the hype is about. It's an ok show, nothing special.
Children and teens. And more kids and teens. As a 80's kid, I know I should be all excited, but I gave up after two episodes. I didn't find anything even mildly interesting; rather, I was bored to tears. Moving on.
This show is kinda dirty when u watch it for third time
This show has me binge watching like crazy. Once you start you can't stop, I need to know what happens next!
season 3 is meh!! 1/10
Every episode is an Eleven out of 10!
Although of a relentlessly high calibre there has been a slow degradation in quality of plot. What was fresh and novel in the first season was built upon quite successfully in the second, only to look tired by the third season. The character arcs were handled well, and the music and 80s references are so cool to someone who lived through it but it has become so signature a theme that it feels more like a popcorn production as we go along as it apes these old movie cliches. It still is an enjoyable ride throughout however and not to be dismissed as just another piece of eye candy. The acting is faultless and with gusto in every scene, and it is this that carries you throughout. I still like the show /spoiler but a change in possible geography perhaps could freshen this in any forthcoming fourth season /spoiler.
Most times I don't find the intense need to write a review for shows I like, but I just finished season 1 (the only one so far) of Stranger Things and I think this might be one of the best Netflix series till date. It's right up with the class and finesse of House of Cards, Master of None, Beasts of No Nation, BoJack Horseman, and Bloodline. I cannot recommend Stranger Things enough. The narrative blends science-fiction, fantasy, and drama perfectly with no holes in the pretext of the plotline. Often times, I am disturbed by leeway taken in fantasy stories where the plot leaves behind glaring questions that must be answered within the story arc. But not this series. In fact, Stranger Things incorporates major references to theoretical physics accurately. However, what truly enchanted me about this series is the phenomenal acting performances by the lead cast; especially the kids. These kids reminded me of the outstanding performance by the children in season 3 of The Wire. I recommend this show to everyone with an interest in good storytelling, cinematography, music, and performance. We are truly living in the golden age of television. What a time to be alive.
For those of us who grew up in the 1980's, this show is absolutely magical. It will evoke feelings of nostalgia as we are reminded of the brilliance of cinema at the time - The Goonies, Stand By Me, E.T the Extra Terrestrial, The Thing, etc.
Whilst this is a near perfect mix of Stephen's Spielberg and King, this is so much more. The people who made this show have created something far more than a nostalgic trip down memory lane. They have given us a gripping, emotional and thrilling story which is played out with a wonderful cast. Its the kids who have the ability to understand the fantastical more than the adults who are too caught up in their grown up world. The series is a reminder to us all - open your hearts and minds beyond the mundanity your life - Shakespeare said it best: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
Prepare yourself for stranger things!
Interesting story but ultimately this type of teenager/child-focussed fantasy is not my type of show. Millie Bobby Brown does a fantastic job though!!
First 2 seasons were great - I gave them an 8/10. Season 3 is terrible, like watching a teen show with less than funny 'comedy/laughs' and plenty of annoying characters. Should've stopped at season 2. Pulling the plug at episode 4. Season 3: 2/10
Stranger Things Is Not For The Faint Hearted Especially Season 4
This is so emotional as Season 3 sets you off with a bumpy ride with lots of action, romance and it has a lot of emotional scenes along the way I highly recommend it if you have spare time to watch it. Stranger Things Season 3 is the best Season yet hears to the very long wait for Stranger Things Season 4 as it is going to be well worth it in the end. Plus my favourite characters are Mike And Eleven their Mileven romance is amazing true young caring romantic emotional love as a romantic I truly do love it.
This show is definitely a "must-watch". Part Sci-Fi / Part Horror / Part Twilight Zone. With only 8 episodes in the first season, it is like a long movie than a TV Show. The actress who plays "El" and the creepy electro music that is authentic to the 80's give this show some real polish. I cannot wait for the second season.
Feels like a Sci-Fi\Mystery\Thriller Version of Stand By Me. Amazing show. Great soundtrack. Great acting especially the kids, nice to see some new blood. 8 episodes was perfect season length, didn't feel drawn out and slow in the middle like many shows but at the same time it didn't feel rushed.
I loved everything about this. Freaks & Geeks meets The X-Files, set in the 80s. Just fantastic from beginning to end!
Stranger Things is like a good book you can't put down.
I really liked this TV Show! Very nostalgic for those who grew up in the 80's. The children's characters were the best! The character "Nancy", in my opinion, was unnecessary to the plot. I did not know the actress Natalia Dyer, who impressed me a lot! But not the character that she played. I hope that Netflix produces more seasons of this series!
For me season 4 is on another level ,better than the previous one,i really enjoyed the episodes, each one is like a movie
Season four has blown all the other seasons away.

The third season is better paced and has a perfect balance of humor and creepy scenes, but it is also predictable, especially it's last two hours. It is best when being a "Blob / The Thing" homage with people getting devored and destroyed and "your neighbour can be one of 'em", but it all ends sadly in another monster showdown. Excellent new character additions though and the humor/homages are beautiful.
The first 3 or 4 episodes are a little slow, but necessary, then it kicks into high gear keeps going right to the last episode of season 2. Very good overall. Don't know if they could drag it out for a third season without ruining it, but when did that ever stop Hollywood?
One of the best new shows out there. You will catch yourself binge watching a lot. If you're a fan of the 80's and Stephen King you will love this show
The show is SO DAMN GOOD!!! So good that it disrupts my sleep... I had to finish the show before I can get a good night sleep...
I'm addicted! Have the best cast ever!!!!
The music is perfect, the characters are perfect, and the plot keeps you wanting to watch episode after episode after episode. Recommend this to everyone and anyone.
Fantastic TV series. I wish that it would never end. I could keep watching it over and over again. Those young actors did an awesome job...kudos to all of them.
What's not to love about this throwback to the 80's with nods to classic flicks like the Goonies meets Aliens...tv actually worth paying for?! Why thank you Netflix
One of my favorite show. this show hook you up till ending. this sifi mystery has every things which you like to see in a actual horror show. actors are very good and childrens are chery on the top specially MILLIE BOBBY BROWN, her acting spark wonder you after ending of every episode.. should watch this show otherwise you miss a seriously strange series.
It,s maybe one of the bests series i've ever seen.
This show is On Point! The music, theme, graphics and the details just ooze 80s. The actors and story were just a perfect blend and you can't help but want to watch it one go.
The blend of the sound track and dialogue couldn't have been done better. Netflix have out done themselves and if you haven't seen it then your missing out!
only halfway through the first season but im glued to it. the goonies meets the twilight zone!
the kids are what really make this show. also, they're better actors than like 90% of the seasoned adult actors currently on television so please remake every tv series starring them.
This show always kept me guessing and had really comfy music. It should have been an anthology series though because there aren't enough mysteries left to justify a second season following the same characters.
Right about now, your friends and family are probably bothering you about how you NEED to watch this show and how amazing they find it. Trust them, just this once. That's also what happened to me, I came into it pretty skeptically because I am pretty picky with what I like but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Stranger Things is excellent, it's essentially Twin Peaks Lite and I don't mean that in a bad way. Just that it covers extremely similar material but Stranger Things is more accessible and less dense. You can down it really quick and pick up another where you sort of have to take sips with Twin Peaks. It's pace is really fast, major events happen in every episode and they are really well structured in terms of discovering something more that leads to the next event right away. The music is extremely simple with the sort of droning tones but there's no problem with that since it is honestly one of the more effective ways to accent what they show you. The visuals are incredible and it is surprisingly consistent throughout with high quality scene after high quality scene. The acting was respectable, the kids are kids so you can't expect any more than what they gave, they did what they were supposed to do. The adults were pretty solid, but ironically the best acting came from the teenage kids who ended up being the most interesting part of the story by the end.
If nobody has told you the basic gist of the story, it revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a child and his family/friend's journey to find out what happened as well as the appearance of a strange orphan and a monster that are somehow connected. Don't let anyone tell you any more than that. It adds to your involvement in the show if you discover the truth along with the characters.
Now there are some drawbacks to it having such a fast pace. The plot is very focused but it's also very narrow, there are auxiliary characters that pop in once in a while but they aren't really built up at all and they just seem like they're there to make the main characters do something or talk about something. The world doesn't feel as alive as some other shows, but that is also partly due to it just being one season so far so they will improve on this as the show continues, I'm sure. The central motivations for the "bad guys" also seems pretty thin at the moment since we didn't really see much of them.
Still, Stranger Things is probably the second best show of this year, right behind The Man in the High Castle. If you like supernatural mystery stories it is worth the watch for sure.
The best serie ever! I season 2
Wow. Just WOW!!!! This show was Amazing! Now I'm upset that I waited so long to watch it, and now I'm fiending for a Season 2! Eleven shouldn't have had to go out like that, but looks like she's still around with that "box in the woods" scene at the end. If she's gone, those boys gonna get their arses handed to them in the future!
super cool series! a true homage to stephen king, steven spielberg and 80's sifi. only gripe is winona ryder could have toned it down a bit. she was a bit to much of a screamer for my taste.
Absolutely fantastic series. I highly recommend watching this at least once!
Amazing show, like a mix of Goonies, ET, The Mist and some sort of bad ass detective movie all rolled in one.
Absolutely love this show, definitely recommend if you like horror/sci-fi type movies!
Great show! Hoping for a season 2! ( if they are making one please tell me!)
Absolutely stunning. Completely engrossed me in its world. Music, acting and story so good. Loved it.
Amazing 80s nostalgy, Stephen King / Steven Spielberg vibes, brilliant soundtrack. Just watch it! One of the best if not the best shows I've seen so far. 5/5
We have loved. From beginning to end. Do not wait any longer each episode is a surprise in itself. Hemos.vuelto to remember some of our favorite movies as "E.T".
Very good show, reminds of a mix between goonies, ET and other great 80 movies. Each episode has been entertaining with no slowdowns so far. There are some things that don't make since or incorrect but very small and do not take away from the show in the overall value. I do love stories that are expressed through the eyses of youth and this shows seems to do a very good hob of it.
Music in this show is way to awesome. And overaly it given me chills at the time, totally awesome!
BTW visuals are also great, tough there is huge pixelation in 4k stream on first few seconds of first episode, but then the rest of the show is superb in technical quality and visuals generally too.
sooooo good. Like Halloween meets Stand by Me. The music was very Carpenter-esque, the colour pallet was on point and all of the acting was incredible, especially Winona Rider. 80's forever
A very well-made sci-fi series. This series pushes you into the atmosphere of 80's films.
Really enjoying this series so far, although just 3 chapters in, I really like the feel of it. Brings me back to my younger days and the feeling I got watching Stand By Me! Hopefully the story continues to progress and this will be another hit for Netflix! I'll give a final review upon completion
This is probably the worst episode of the whole season. Despite the one and a half hour running time, nothing significant happens.
I enjoyed Part 1 of Season 4 more than I had expected, but once it's over, it's amazing how forgettable the whole thing is.
Part 2 is quite boring, in the same way as the third act of most Hollywood blockbusters. The makers of the show need to realize that bigger and longer does not alway mean better.
CGI monsters are quite lousy. Better suited for a video game.
Okay, so we know this was a good show at one point. I loved season 1, and the second and third one was okay too.
This 4th season was just pure crap.
Story was not so well written, it was cliché, you knew at the first sight how this will turn out - if not, you live under a rock.
Apart from the story, the dramaturgy was boring as hell. We spent way too much time on useless things, on brooding, on lamenting, it was really painful to watch.
Apart from... okay, so the story was lame, the dramaturgy was boring, but it could have been saved, but the editing and cutting was crap as hell - I can't comprehend why you had to cut at every peak point of a scene, why couldn't you just let it play out - feelings were lost in this editing, emotions didn't impact as they should have. What I mean is that we should have been focusing on the big fight with Max and El, but we had to jump to Hopper once in a while, just to see him run.
I think this 4th season's biggest mistake was that it wanted to grasp way too much than it could handle. We followed too many characters, and sadly most of them just weren't as interesting to watch them as it should be in a tv show. It was boring as hell.
So I think this is way overhyped - just because it has all of the 80's songs, this shouldn't be looked upon as a great show. It's fair and okay if you enjoy it, I enjoyed some parts too, but to say that this is a good show is like stating that you don't consume any entertainment, and your standards are waaaaay below the avarage.
Of course you can disagree with me, but try to convince me.
Good songs
amazing background songs
good casting
average story
I really like the truth
Absolutely the best show I have ever seen. Season 4 nailed it!:grin::thumbsup_tone1:
Love it but the delivery of the story is mundane: they start as a small team and end up teaming up to fight a single entity, it's honestly predictable but still A great show with great actors, effects, and lore.
Season 1 was the best. The rest is nothing but an attempt to make more money.
Stranger things season 4:
A nightmare ITish time in Hawkins.
It's been Quite dull.
Is it an homage to feature a Freddy Krueger movie standee in the video shop, and have some ANOES Elmer Bernstein sounding music, and have a kid mention Freddy, and have Robert Englund, or is it a clear ripoff , re reboot?. Newline should sue
This show is FANTASTIC. There really is no other genre that can explain it. A mixture of suspense, comedy, drama, horror.
can't wait for s4 vol. 2, such a badass western series one pf my favorites, nice ol Fantasy genre but looks thrilling and yeah goosebumps everywhere, deserver a 8 point star, I hope next season will surpassed the the old feels of stranger things!
As usual, brilliant acting and writing in season 4. Love the story line and old school horror feel. They stayed true with some fan favorites, but also added some new content and it had me hooked from the start. If someone out there has not watched this show yet, get with the program. It's one of the best shows ever.
Season 4 has weak writing & story telling. If it wasn’t for the acting & great production value, season 4 would be shit. Too many characters. Too many side line stories. Slow place. Did they outsource the writing or get armatures to write it?
S1: Probably the best of the three.
S2: Don't remember much besides that the mind flayer is cool. Don't remember what it even did though.
S3: It was okay. Didn't have as much fun with it as the first season plus my favorite character (hopper) died.
Season 3:
i liked it best because kids grow a little, and some romance happens. Much happy colorful atmosphere .
at s1, s2, i skipped alot at middle ep's .
at s3, i skipped nearly none .
season 1:
ep 1 2 : introduction to characters
ep 3 6 : boring, skipped alot. Here is more detective, discovery.
ep 7 8 : finally story progresses.
(Main chars)
kids party = mike, lukas, curly, blackkid;
missing boy =lukas;
Eleven:=telekinetic girl;
couple of story going around:
(7.5 star) kid party+ eleven:
this the main story . you can skip the other stories that is written below, if it feels long.
(3star) Luka's mom: shes sad mom , quickly becomes boring . skipped her scenes.
(5star) sheriff: searches missing boy. later, sheriff and luka's mom continues to search together.
(3star) lukas bigbro:
while in pool party, he photographs mikes sis and her soon to be missing friend.
Luka bro and mike sis starts a search for missing friend.
I just love this series, it brings references from so many wonderful movies from the 1990s, and 1980s, I started watching the series with my mom, she also liked it a lot, we marathoned together the first and third season, She liked the first one more, we watched it several times, she left me in 2020, and the next season I won't have her company to watch the show, but maybe she's still with me somehow, but it's not going to be the same without her.
Stranger Things is what I call a memorable TV Show. It’s the first one I really got into because I got a Netflix subscription at that time. I just rewatched it and this brought back SO many good memories. It’s a Top 3 for me.
The way the cast connects and the way the story is being told it’s just incredible.
If you are not sure if you should watch it, i’m here to tell you some things:
- it’s a GREAT show even if it’s very popular.
- it’s really not horror. (i thought for a few years that it is horror because of the tags and the trailer bcs it looked like it is) i really hate horror and it was a let down at first just because of it. but it’s not. it sure has some tiny jumpscares, but nothing to be afraid of.
enjoy
Its awesome only if u have watched u can know
It's the best series I've ever watched before and I've watched a lot. It makes me feel so different. I've watched it about 20 times over and over again. I never get bored and it feels like I am watching for the first time.
It’d be great if adults starred in this serie instead of kids
It took some time for me to start watching this Netflix series. Actually, it took years, as I did not have a Netflix account and I wasn’t interested. Only last year, at a birthday party, when we were playing Stranger Things’ Monopoly, I got interested. Then, on Halloween, I decided to start watching. And I loved it!
Stranger Things is a series about a group of four 12-year-old boys who live in Hawkins, Indiana, in the 80’s. One Autumn evening, one of the boys, Will Byers, goes missing and his friends, mother, brother and the chief of the police try to find him. At the same time, some strange events happen in the town, in the electric facility, all connected to a little innocent girl.
With Stranger Things, some thoughts came to my mind. Firstly, the importance of fellowship. If it wasn’t for his friends, Will would be gone forever. Also, if it wasn’t for Joyce being a friend of Hopper, the chief of police, she would have been considered a lunatic. We see the importance of friendship throughout the entire series.
Also, it is amazing how Stranger Things celebrate “Being different is good”. The main group is a group of nerds and each of them is different from the other, being Will the quietest, Dustin the funniest, Mike the leader, and Lucas the sarcastic one. They are bullied at school. However, they don’t want to change. If they changed, they wouldn’t have saved the world, literally, so many times.
My favourite thing about this series is really the power of being a nerd. Being one myself, it warms my heart seeing how loving Lord of the Rings and books ends up by being something so good and heroic.
Well, now let’s wait for another season.
On 181220, after finishing season 1 the shield, i am here. I watch series season by season. So, i will stay here for one season.
I was watching sitcoms and police series for a long time so i wanted to break it. I need some mystery and fantastic things.
I will copy this also to season 1 review.
I will edit here maybe in future after finishing some seasons.
Normally, i try to watch old series. Like 1993-2010 years but i wanted to see that. I hope i enjoy it.
Started out 10 for S1.. But has took a severe plunge since then.. And now with a year gap between S3 and S4, it's likely to get worse. Funny, they made a couple of movies with 11 but couldn't film S4?? Stranger indeed... Lolol
Fun watch - time flies. Not as deep as you'd like but it is a fun ride.
“Breaking in is impossible.” Totally.
Indiana 1987: A boy is lost.
Definitely the best thing I've ever watched.
Very mixed feelings about this show.
Season one was great, season two still very good, but season three absolutely killed it for me. Teenage romance troubles, adult romance troubles, "commy" spies - all that is stuff I really didn't want to see. And the humor missed more often then it hit. The plot takes another circle, get's reheated, to start from scratch. How often do they want to do this ? Season two's finale would have been a great ending. And making Billy the one possessed wasn't the smartest decision. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy as far as I am concerned. I didn't care at all for him. And in season three it seems the blood and violence was just there to be there.
As mentioned I really enjoyed the first two seasons despite the fact I didn't like any of the kids that much. I liked Hopper who became a douchebag in season three.
Production value is great throughout the show. All that's missing was shooting this in 4:3. It looks 80s, it feels 80s and the soundtrack is amazing.
I stopped at episode six in season three, I couldn't even bring myself to watch the final two as I completely lost interest within the span of those episodes.
Had it ended after S2 I would have given an "8". The third season was a "4" in my book. That accumulates to a high "6"
This show, all 3 seasons of it, is a total blast! I have really enjoyed watching the kids grow up and their friendships develop. There is something in this show for everyone: humor, horror, coming of age, mystery, relatable characters, science fiction, etc. Do yourself a favor and watch it!
Excellent Series great plot and now add in Maya Hawke
Can't wait to see the last season
I am addicted to the cast and story... love you millie bobby brown (el) and Finn (Mike) .. my best romantic teen couple ... they are my story,my emotions and all tears in the show .. dying to watch season 4 .... eleven don’t stop loving mike ... you make my life complete..:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes::kissing_heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart:
The Season 3 gets better since EP4, but EP8 is a bit sloppy. I love Erica!!!! More Erica next season PLS!
EP4开始好看,EP8为了渲染苦战有点拖沓,总体S03各个人物都成长了而且分成几个小组各自发展剧情还行,Erica太灵!S04干脆放个几年拍青春剧算了= =
the music and the atmosphere of 60s/70s are amazing. other than that, the performance of the actors are okay, however, the story is quite boring..
I must admit, using the 80's theme might have become popular because of this show but having lived in the 80's doesn't make this special for me. So if you leave out the nostalgic feelings (most of the viewers won't have because they are younger) and add the annoying toothless boy it's barely a pass.
The first season really did have something special going for it. The Duffer Brothers weaved a tight-knit, supernatural tale with a realistic feel that gave the narrative believability, The writing for the younger cast was near homage to Spielberg's "The Goonies", which wrapped everything up in a nice feel good blanket of nostalgia. It wasn't the best supernatural story ever written, but it didn't have to be and the amazing soundtrack scored by Dixon and Stein gave the season a palpable sense of identity.
And then season two happens. And the lack of creative writing begins to show. We have the ham-fisted plot concerning an isolated Eleven. A runaway Demagorgan that Dustin feels the need to hide from everybody, for some reason. An extremely awkward romance that somehow includes a roid-induced brother that really should have been cut from the final product. And to top it all off, we get several not so subtle hints that Mike's mom has the hots for Billy. The acting talent is there (and not there in some cases, although I was very pleased with Sean Astin's work as Bob Newby) and the soundtrack continues to impress, but the mystery was gone in place of a thriller that makes me feel like the writers had just finished watching CW's "Supernatural" for the first time.
The only thing supernatural going on here is this shows continued popularity, and I feel there will be a number of disappointed fans come the release of season three.
This is my absolute favorite show of all time. There's literally nothing wrong with it, in my eyes.
Season 1 and Season 2 Comment: I bet you've heard about this series already. This series is very popular and they deserve the attention they get. The child stars in this series are so good and the plot is amazing. I love the graphics and I really recommend this to everyone.
Expected a better script because sometimes it's quite predictable. But the overall show is 'OK'
Reminds me of the Goonies. Plot interesting but sometimes the script is a bit weak.
Season One: 10.0. There is nothing to complain about here. The season is absolute perfection. The 80’s setting is so beautiful and euphoric, the soundtrack and score are so good, the characters are ALL likable, and the genuine emotions bring out every bit of emotion within you. I love this season to death. It is so incredibly memorable. It is probably the best season of a show I have ever watched. I cannot wait to watch the rest of the seasons, and maybe even watch this season a couple of more times.
Season 1 was amazing. Season 2 was mediocre.
If you haven't watched this show yet, then you must see it before the third season drops.
Very predictable many things but still quite good.
The second season was enjoyable to watch, but thought the first season was much more fresh and innovative. In the second season, there were some obvious Star Wars similarities that were on the nose and I felt the new character introduced in episode 1, had no real pay off by the end of the series.
The child cast is the show's only selling point. Replace kids with adults and what's left is a pretty bland plot.
Kinda like Max... reminds me of myself

If Stephen King and Steven Spielberg had a baby, this is EXACTLY what it would look it.
