Rowena's accent is like music to my ears. Love her!
[Spoiler]Rowena is back! [spoiler]And this is great. It means Crowley’s gonna back too :))
Okay so not only Rowena is back, which is start to becoming a convenient habit, but she's back stronger than ever! That's just great! Enemy or ally? Wait n See....
I bet Crowley will be back soon too.
"You won't ever be able to change what happened. You won't be able to change how helpless you felt, or how helpless you feel. You're still gonna get scared.
And that feeling that feeling never goes away".
That. Amazing! There're no words to describe how much I loved the scene. Although I've been expecting Sam to come clear about his feelings about Lucifer, it hit me pretty hard. I wasn't prepared for it to get that deep real quick, but I'm so glad this came out.
I loved the episode. Capital letters. I didn't expect to love it that much. Props to Amanda Tapping. She did an excellent job in directing the episode. We got a little bit of everything and each and every subplot was entertaining.
Sam's depression, Rowena's fear, Crowley's death (I miss him so damn much), Cas and Lucifer's break out of Asmodeus' prison and Rowena's blue eyes at the end which let me wanting to know more about that healing spell.
But first things first, welcome back, Rowena! I've missed her so much. I just love her, and I can't believe I'm saying this after her first season on the show, when I despised her more than anything. And now here I am, enjoying their love/hate relationship with the boys even more. I already knew she was coming back but that didn't take out the enjoyment when she entered the scene. "Hello, boys", like son, like mother, I guess. Last season I refused to believe she was gone forever and now here she is, more powerful than ever. I wonder what way the writers want to take with her character, whether they want to use her to defeat Lucifer once and for all and have her vendetta, or to make her a villain. Honestly, that last scene was so intriguing. By the way, the spell effects, along with her blue eyes, were incredible.
Ruth Connell is so talented and plays Rowena in such an entertaining way that, even though she could've been lying about being afraid of Lucifer, I still love her. She's so entertaining to watch and all her scenes were spectacular. I loved when she asked about Fergus and how devastated she looked when she knew about his demise. That fifth base line might even been one of the dirtiest jokes Supernatural has ever made. Couldn't stop laughing at Dean's reaction.
My favourite scene was undoubtedly when Sam and Rowena bonded over the Lucifer trauma. It was about time Sam' pain was addressed. I always knew that recovering his soul from the pit left a scar on him and I've always wanted him to address his feelings over that. I thought it all would come out in season 11. However, they missed the opportunity. This should've been addressed earlier to explain how Sam could overcome his feelings when he rescued Lucifer when Amara was torturing him, which seemed off.
I'm so glad Sam talked to Dean about Lucifer. I always get emotional with the boys' talks and if you play Dean's theme as background music I feel devastated. I hope the whole give Rowena the page of the book thing doesn't come back to bite them in the ass because the boys need a win soon, although I'm enjoying Sam's angst a lot.
I loved Sam and Dean's fight. It reminded me of the one in Tall Tales. "I'm sorry, Sam. I just love her so much", lol. That and when they got their feet glued to the floor. I'm dying to watch the bloopers of that scene.
The witch sisters were the perfect parallel to the brothers, although more hateful. But for next time, Dean, try and shoot them before telling them they're witch-killing bullets, the outcome might change radically. Speaking of the sisters, I loved the cashier. In that situation I would've done the same. And she even checked out Dean's ass.
Cas and Lucifer's team up gets me so excited. Their exchanges tonight were pure gold. Mark Pellegrino is a freaking treasure: "Thanks. So considerate. Appreciate that a lot. You're not nice and I don't like you. You treat me like I'm an everyday angel and if I had just a little more power I could tear this place apart. Just sayin'". I loved seeing Cas torturing Lucifer by telling him that Jack was a good kid who would kill him instead of hug him and that he doesn't even resemble him. Lucifer calling Cas, Cassandra was great as well. Cas' sass can't be turned down: "Excuses aside, you're saying that you're too weak to overcome even your weakest creation", lol.
I also found it quite intriguing that Asmodeus' shapeshifting abilities were not Lucifer-given, but self-taught. That was so interesting and it makes him ever more menacing.
I was so happy to hear Cas saying "This is me, learning from my mistakes". I loved seeing him stabbing Lucifer, although we all know he's coming back cause he doesn't die that easy, but it was so nice to see what Cas is capable of and to know that, whatever Lucifer says, he's still the enemy. That was one take of that scene. The other is that, even though I thought Lucifer wasn't gonna be a villain this season, he might turn out to be.
Overall, amazingly-directed episode with a hilarious Dean and memorable scenes. Hope the trend continues.
Oh no. Stooooop. Dean. Stop that. Gross.

I can't imagine a life without Supernatural now... is that weird? I remember watching episode 1 when it first aired and thought 'This is good, wonder when the stupid execs will cancelled it? ' Now into season 13 ... and still the best show on TV.
