Hmmm...I appreciate the Cigarette Smoking Man recapping the entire story arc plot for me thru his narration, but it seems a little forced. I guess they needed a way to recap where they were at in the mythology for new viewers. The story arc is certainly made clearer in the process, though. The CSM employs a new henchman (woman) at the end of this first of a two-parter.
Secondary characters in this episode: CSM, Agent Spender, Diana, Krycek, Bill Mulder, Syndicate, Cassandra Spender
This mythos content is insufferable. Rehashes of sparse poor content we first heard six seasons earlier. I knew these "Twilight Zone" episodes were too good to be true. Well, it was fun while it briefly lasted.
Edit: This episode opens with one of the cringiest moments of the series, which is saying a lot. The embarrassing bordering-on-racist (if not outright so) discriminatory sh*t writing, executed terribly by the actor portraying Fox Mulder. In addition, to add icing on the cake, there are so many ego feeds occurring via the character's alleged basketball playing. Oi vey. Also, what a useless character. Such a far cry from the character, long abandoned, that we were introduced to in the pilot episode. What a pity.
This show is so stupid. How did it become popular? Yes, and yet here I am. I know.
Why further convolute the mythos around Mulder's sister by saying she's still out there among the aliens? And that the one we met last season (or whenever it was) is a clone? The one last season was perfectly fine and made sense and was an actual character with a life. It was perfectly fine. There was absolutely no need for this further convolution around Mulder's sister.
Ugh. Sigh.
I like it was made a bit clearer with cancer man talking about how the aliens wanted instead of humans but for there to be a race of alien human hybrids as a slave race, apparently. We also got some answers to other things.
Jeffrey got shit on a bit too much this episode, but i like that he was exposed to aliens.
I like how the rebel aliens are working against the syndicate.
I like it was reiterated how Bill Mulder was against the aliens and wanted to resist. But Bill should have explained everything to Mulder when he was alive.
Diana Allers is working for the syndicate? Really? Okay i guess.
Mulder would not shoot her, idk why they're putting it on a cliffhanger. He wouldn't shoot her because he wouldn't do it, and if he killed her he'd go to prison for the rest of his life.
hmm Cassandra looks familiar. I wonder if she's the same actress from the Ridley Scott's classic, ALIEN

Well, it is all out there now. I love it. Thanks, X-Files. So satisfying!
