Here we go. We have now gone BACK to the ancient arisen possibility of cancer man being Mulder's real father, even though last season in the two part mythology episodes it was hammered home more about Bill Mulder being his father, with no mention of cancer man being his father. So now we go back to cancer man being his real father (or was it part of the dream?)
I just don't like it.
So because Mulder was infected with a virus or the black oil seasons ago, and because now he's been in contact with the PAPER SKETCHING of a piece of a ufo or alien artifact, it then activated within him psychic abilities. It also makes him a perfect alien human hybrid now.
Ugh.
I don't even remember when or with what Mulder was infected with seasons ago.
And cancer man thinks that would be good to make a vaccine? So cancer man is doing that now?/he's more on the good side now and not for or trying to bring about colonization? And also he has the human-alien blood so now he's also a human alien hybrid and therefore immune to the future virus? (though wouldn't that be immune to the old style black oil virus or is it the newer gestating one? If that is the newer one and not the old one).
Killing off Diana feels out of left field, but i'll roll with it.
I was shocked and excited to see Deep Throat and Samantha again. There was one thing in the season 1 finale that i really didn't like, and that was Deep Throat's death. If we really saw him this episode it would have gone a long way to fixing that season 1 mistake. But no, it turned out it was Mulder's dream. I was completely sucked into the fantasy Mulder had created. When i saw Samantha it made me think what was happening made even more sense, because we saw her a while ago (even though apparently it's not his real sister), and it would make sense she would live in that street, though i was suspicious when it was said cancer man lived there also, and i was a bit suspicious about Diana wanting a child so soon, but i had no idea it was all a simulation. I fell for it, and then i was shocked to discover it was all a simulation.
I'm not sure where they were trying to go with this story... It felt flat, hurried, and confusing.
Diana and Scully save Mulder. Diana dies, Albert Hosteen dies, Kritschgau dies. Happy. Happy. Mulder turns out to be part alien and his DNA is transplanted into the Cigarette Smoking Man. I can't help but think that this will end up being anti-climactic also, as the mytharc is apt to be. I did love the dream sequence that has shows the C-Smoking Man looking out the window of a suburban home while the entire world around him is burning as the alien invasion is turning it into a living hell.
Conclusion seems like a cop out.
