Joe always find a miraculous way to end up with some rich woman... luck bastard
call the police!!!... no hun we can't end the show here .
they deserve what happened to them.
and tbh this season was mehhh except for some parts .
This season was mostly a 'meh' story-and character-wise, as others mentioned, felt pretty much like a spin-off.
Since they introduced Tom Lockwood and his influence, I've been under the impression that Joe/Jonathan/(Rhys) can do anything, that man can just make it all go away. And although it wasn't directly Tom that did at the end, that's what happened.
I also agree with others that the quality of the show progressively deteriorated, although there were some great moments in every season, and the forté of You is definitely its twists. The twists saved this season for me as well, although I am not a fan of the fact that there's going to be another season - only if everything comes to full circle and there will be retaliation for the man. His "good heart" (lol) left a couple of strings attached, and now Marianne, Nadia, and even little Ellie (Jenna Ortega) can make their case against him in some way, which should finally happen. Now THAT is actually something to look forward to as he deserves to be taken down properly.
Terribly boring. Hugely disappointing and endlessly agonising
As a lot of people said, characters other than Joe are terrible, they really didn't put any effort. Joe was in a show, the other actors were part of another. Nadia plotline was super forced and I agree on not calling the police was extremely stupid, but eventually made sense with how Marienne got out (made sense not calling the police if that was immediately your plan, but it wasn't, so...).
I also agree on the serie getting progressively worse, first season was simpler, fresh and more engaging.
I hope they won't continue with another season.
Sigh… so the twist was good, but in my opinion it doesn’t justify or it doesn’t hold the dumb rich kids of essex and the eat the rich killer plot lines, those plot are awful and it will remain awful, no matter the twists or surprises
The characters were awful (not blaming the cast)
And I don’t see how kate and joe’s relationship is gonna prosper, joe looks for women he can control, and last time he had an “equal” (equally insane) partner (Love) it didn’t end well
Not a fan of this ending. The show does not need another season. Each season has gotten progressively worse, and it should have ended here.
The side characters were meh, I had no investment in Nadia investigation and the not calling the police made no sense BUT I liked Joe ending. Reminded of season 2 if Joe but with a Joe able to appreciate what he has and who he has instead of trying to take moral high grounds.
I liked the second part of this season a lot more but I still think it's time for this show to end. This season felt like a spinoff to me and it didn't have that real 'You Magic'. The cast outside Penn Badgley was just okay and could have used some stronger characters.
The second half of this season was so much better! I actually grew fond of Phoebe. Not so much her friends and I have definitely not warmed up to Kate whatsoever. The twist with Rhys was predictable but still interesting and I like how it showed just how much Joe was deteriorating. I'm glad the writers made him less likable and showed more of how dark he truly is.
Now when he jumped off that bridge I thought 'what will they do with the rest of the episode?' but they took a turn. A TURN! O my, I'm still processing. The joy of knowing Nadia helped save Marienne but the direct agony of seeing what her heroic actions brought her. The way Joe coldly told her that nobody would believe her and the absolute insanity that is Kate... KATE STAYING WITH HIM!? I mean who is worse here? At least with Love it was clear that she shared a darkness with Joe but Kate with her 'changing the world' bull is not in fact as Joe states 'a good person'. She is just as fake as her friends in my opinion.
I love how the ending is fitting to the theme of the show. It's dark and sinister and should in no way be romanticized. The hallucination was a nice touch too... seeing Beck and Love again. I wished they'd brought back Peach and Candace as well but that must've not been possible in terms of the actors and their schedules... I guess? And I didn't even expect to be THIS happy to see Beck but looking back I think we can all agree she was a real victim of Joe.
Goodbye, You.
Why would he do Nadia like this :(
"I'm the problem, it's me"
I love that a different Taylor Swift song is in both season three and four finales. “Anti-Hero” is definitely an interesting choice.
Decent over all. Part 1 was too much build-up for what Part 2 delivers.
The things I thought were good:
The new settings, and a creative plot. I liked the dissociative plot twist. I think it was well executed.
I liked how in the end Joe was chasing himself rather than a girl. I loved how unhinged it got.
The things I thought were not good:
I think part of the reason this season fell flat is because we didn’t have any truly great side characters. They were not written well. Most of the side characters did not add much to the plot at all. Take them out the show completely and we haven’t lost much in my opinion. They all seem like cartoon characters. There is not even the slightest depth to them and I have no interest in the relationships they form with Joe.
I can't really connect to Nadias storyline. Everything she did in P2 was SUCH a horrible decision. What was up with Maryanne not letting Nadia call the cops? It makes no since at all, their reasoning was beyond dumb, it’s just lazy writing.
Another disappointing character arc was the lady with the camera. She was just Phoebe's stalker? I was hyped to see if she was the one who was finally going to expose him. Or if she was connected to Beck somehow.
Kate is my least favorite love interest of Joe. There is zero chemistry between her and Jo. Zero.
I just don't understand why Joe becomes obsessed with Rhys in the first place. It seems so unlike his past obsessions. Had they written this season more tightly, we wouldn't have to wan explanation.
My suspension of disbelief has been broken many times this season, especially things leading to the ending. Joe just murdered Nadia’s boyfriend in broad daylight in London and they're just chatting next to a dead body for how long.
It feels like this season the plot armor is even more noticeable than in the last ones - reasoning of Nadia and Marienne for not calling the cops was really weird, all because they wanted Joe to get away with it without facing the police. The PI just handing Joe a new life wasn't explained. He killed Kate's dad incredibly easily for how rich and smart he's supposed to be. He even survived jumping from the bridge.
Joe has really managed to find not one, but two women who wholly accept him for all his stalking and murdering. And conveniently they both came from very wealthy families who are happy to cover up all of his crimes.
I have a feeling season 5 is gonna be the last. The fact that Joe it now at his absolute worst makes me think they’re preparing for his downfall. Plus it would be fitting for the last season to take place in NYC since that’s where it all started.
This episode, and everything from the twist reveal has made this season just as riveting as the first season. The evil that we know of Joe has returned and this time, it's going to stay. The ending was absolutely dramatic and vile of him - and actually pretty scary. I hope it ends with this, I don't think a season 5 is required since it seems to wrap up with him explaining what this life is like now and what his personality is like. Letting Marianne survive was a great decision. And it's really weird seeing a shaven Joe again.
This show is honestly so twisted! Cannot imagine what they come up with next season
Very good!!! I liked very of this last!
BEST ENDING EVER EVR EVR EVR EVRREVR VEVRE VER EVRVEB RVEB RVER VE EVR. I AM SO HAPPY BECAUSE NADIA IS IN SUCH DEEP SHIT NOW AND ALSO THAT HER BOYFRIEND IS DEAD LOLLLLLLLLL. JOE U ARE ONE EVIL PRICK LMFOAOOAOAOOAOAOAO, LOVE THIS GUY. Joe Goldberg is the only likable main character to ever exist. I will forever cheer him on. Best ending.
stop watching after bridge scene if you want this season to end.
Continue if you want next season, but don't blame writers, it's so cinematic and I loved every twist and turn.
I don’t have words for how upsetting the end of this episode was
this ending is crazy, just when you think it is going in one direction, the last 10 mins change the show completely and i cant wait for s5!!
