It's ironic. All these people in the comments seem to despise the ideals The Federation stands for.
The show just keeps stepping it up. This was a joyous adventure full of fun and making full use of the characters. Ethan Peck is bringing so many good things to his portrayal of Spock. Pike's pirate excursion was delightful and I'm becoming genuinely heartbroken for how Chapel's feelings are being thrown around.
The real star here turned out to be Jesse James Keitel who absolutely slayed it, creating a character that I am super eager to see return. Slightly less impressive was the pirate Remy who felt like he was there only for joke purposes. Still fun though, especially as we got to see Pike in armoured apron.
And wow, that ending twist! I didn't even realise how much I wanted that until it happened.
Keep doing what you're doing, Strange New Worlds. This is so much fun. I just wish we were getting more Hemmer.
I'm very surprised by the negative comments on this episode. Perhaps it's because I'm a casual Trek fan, but I adored this episode. So many hilarious line deliveries. So much colourful chemistry between all of the characters (Chapel in particular has perfect chemistry with everyone she talks to). So much class, charm and optimism. Very good use of the visual effects budget to punctuate moments of awe. Overall, I feel really energised by this episode.
Not knowing the comics it took me some episodes to get a grip on this universe, but oh my this is really good. The fight between Dream and Lucifer was so creative and cool. I wasn't familiar with Tom Sturridge, but his voice is freaking mesmerizing.
The bigotry in some of these comments is shameful. Watching a show about science, while living in the dark ages just is beyond my scope of "tolerance"
I absolutely love everything about this show. The storyline is so good and the characters are so well crafted. There is no better storytelling on TV right now. Already really excited for the next episode.
The best last five seconds ever
Way to go, Ed! :alien:
Idk what everyone is bitching about this is one of if not Chris Pratts best role. You can tell he did real gun training and hand to hand training. The way he holds the guns the way he pulls it to his chest when you aren’t shooting at the moment it’s so good. You have to be into guns to know. This show is great better than Reacher by far which everyone seems to keep comparing it to.
Best military revenge show in a long time. And you know this kind of corruption happens in real life too so it’s not far fetch to get you thinking
Love his no hesitation kills as it should be, none of this talking or last words bs, very tactical.
I can’t say enough good things about this show
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ♪ ♫ I WANT IT THAT WAY ♫ ♪
It was a great adaptation and the bumping with Lee Child by the end of the episode when Reacher gets back to meet with Finlay is a great touch.
Let's get that Season 2 ready...
Definitely the best episode yet, I'm quite excited for ep 8. I'm hoping some of the revelations might make people who disliked previous episodes to think again because it's better to wait and judge them after final product. Unfortunately most people that criticizes the show in a bad way judges the episodes because there are missing parts. It was kind of obvious we'd get those missing parts later to not ruin only watchers surprise. To each their own I guess...
The only thing that made me go "WHY?" was the triangle thingy that was fortunately shut down pretty fast and I'm hoping this is the last we'll hear about it
Also hoooly f. best cold opening yet
If I would rate the episodes I'd probably say 7 4 5 6 3 2 1 but I may change my mind after seeing the final, we'll see.
Amazing finale! Holy moly was that battle freaking epic. And then that ending 0_0.
This has easily become one of my favourite shows. The characters and cast are fantastic and this episode proves that. Baba Voss' battle speech made me want to pick up a sword and fight alongside him .
This episode was great, even I was ready for war after the Queen's speech. Please get rid of Sibeth, Baba please.
So the Queen played her hand which helped Kofun came to conclusion.
I really don't understand why they left Ethan with a trained killer.
How did they manage to make this episode even better than the others ! I hope the team behind this show goes on and makes way more stuff in the future.
LOL at the councilor still trying to figure out the child's puzzle all those years later.
At this point I simply couldn't care less if it isn't exactly like the books, this show is setting a new standard for sci-fi and storytelling like The Expanse did a couple years ago or the Wachowski's did a few decades ago. Apple TV is winning the streaming war right now ( if we judge on quality )
I maybe in the minority, but I appreciated Gaal's backstory. If any, I thought her backstory should've taken even more time. I find it astounding that a teen prodigy raised by a religious tribe can learn and grasp complex mathematical theories in few months to few years, from scraps of books and scrolls no less. While the first episode was visually stunning, it was emotionally sterile. Her backstory brought more emotional depth.
Jumps between the present day Gaal and Terminus were only occasionally effective, and mostly distracting. The episode should've focused on Gaal and Gaal only. A relative newcomer Lou Llobell delivers a stand out performance.
Back in Terminus, clumsily choreographed fight scenes aside, the crash was an amazing sight. Yes, the empire crew were blinded by arrogance and meet their demise all too easily, but man, the crashed looked awesome.
Salvor is starting to come into her own. No longer a tough-as-a-nail-misunderstood-star-child-warden, she's starting to embrace and understand her roles in Terminus.
Foundation is a complex sci-fi novel and while this adaption is dumbed down, it still pays a great respect to intellectual details, requiring more deliberate pacing and patience. But puzzle pieces are starting to fall into places.
Absolutely hated the seizure/motion sickness inducing night scene. I would've much preferred the infamous "I can't see anything" dimly lit cinematography from The Long Night episode of Game of Thrones.
But I loved everything else, especially the tug-of-war. The cast is just phenomenal and the way Number 1 delivers the monologue and his team transforming into warriors is easily the best scene to date.
I read somewhere they've already ordered 2 more seasons ! OMG, yes please !!
Ok, bets are on. Will Sean Bean survive the entire second season? ;)
Great episode. Tense all round. Having Clarissa back on the scene is definitely an interesting element. I felt for her previous story despite her very extreme methods.
Best episode ever. Old team meet new team.
pailfull acting, terrible dialogs, laughable action scenes, and lazy plots. sad to see that my favourite action show has come to this.
from hunting international nuclear terrorists to neo natzis MMA fighters. really?!
