Went in with a open mind, knew nothing about the movie. Just in there for Alexandra Daddario. Some parts were cliched, wouldn't deny that. But the comedy worked. It was not boring, meanwhile it could have definitely been a lot better!
Have nothing to watch? Go for it.
It's so good and so well made you'll never want to watch it again.
but is it normal for a teenager to drop out of school (private school which he attends only thanks to his mother's ex job) in the middle of the year to go backpacking??!
Lili’s acting truly carried this episode for me
I felt her emotion in every scene
Good bye to one of the most batshit crazy written show. You will be missed.
I have really enjoyed the last couple of seasons. However, this last episode felt nice and nostalgic. Overall, Riverdale was a decent TV series, it was entertaining for some parts. This last episode wrapped it up nicely with a nice ending. Goodbye, Riverdale.
Well, gosh darn if that little girl wasn't the cutest, most precocious thing ever! I do wish they would've dialed it back a bit with the whole grown-up little girl, though, it made her kind of cartoonish at times.
But as formulaic and cliched as this movie is, it's still really well acted and pretty enjoyable. Much better than the last few Nicholas Sparks movies that have come out, that's for sure.
Maybe a bit slow and long for some. I didn't mind the pace. I liked the mystery. I liked the characters. I liked the music. It did have a creepy atmosphere but it could have been amplified at times. The spoilers are where the movie gets good.
MAJOR SPOILERS
Was the girl Lucifer is disguise? She seemed to be judging Corso and even looked pleased when he eventually killed someone. Corso was immoral but I don't think he was evil. In the end when corso and the girl were having sex, I think Corso knew who she was. Lets not forget that the girls floats in mid air, so it was pretty obvious she was at least and angel or something. But In the end Corso gave himself up. He was willing after temptation. He fell in love maybe. And the devil was on his his shoulder the whole time during the movie.
He was already moderately sinful at the beginning, and that was a great start to the character. I liked how Lucifer wasn't interested in stereotypical worshippers or people obsession with her, but wanted to manipulate. The girl or Lucifer is even seen reading How to win friends and influence people in the lobby. After all Corso is the one who approached the girl, who also has the appearance of two faces in a reflection. The devil has two faces remember.
This is a movie to re-watch for sure. I can see why it went over people's heads as it's so subtle and makes the viewer work hard for clues, not that it's an insanely complex plot. But one thing still evades me, and that's why Lucifer wears odd socks? Pure evil
Did anyone else pick up on slightly Succession(ish) notes in the dinner scene? The Prospero kid is so obviously doing a Kendall Roy impression. Similarly Kate Siegel is going for a Shiv Roy character. Succession, Haunting and Dopesick combined.
I need a character name cheat sheet to refer for this. I was lost with the scenes of the siblings one by one all talking about each other and their spouses before we even met them.
I think this was a cute and easy watch, exactly what I expected.
I'm pretty sure there will be a second season and they obviously prepare for that too.
The whole romantic infatuation with Yuri felt really forced and unnecessary, and there were basically no surprises plot-wise. There's not much depth, but it's cute.
This "bringing Molly back" thing is good TV but poorly executed.
They're basically depriving Zach and the new girls of their "Casa Amore" experience.
Would have been a better idea to bring in 6 new girls as normal... THEN bring Molly back 12 to 24 Hours before the recoupling.
Let Zach find new connections then send him a text that he has a date then... BAM! Molly is back and he has to make a decision.
Whoever casted and got Alexandra Daddario + Sydney Sweeney on the same screen: you’re doing the Lord’s work
Such a cringy movie but definitely some laughs. I don’t really get Albar’s whole character though.
Every year I pick out one or two cheesy christmas movies as part of my holiday season. Last week I watched the mediocre Lindsay Lohan movie and this week I settled on this movie. More cheese, right? Um, no. This movie is good. I mean really good. Sure, there are the occasional reminders that it is the holiday season but it almost certainly is not a holiday movie (although I do expect that the christmas village scene in the middle of the movie was a wink at the audience from the director). First, the two leads have ridiculous chemistry. And it isn't the crappy syrupy kind that we see in so many other xmas movies. The supporting cast is also excellent, of course (Bonnie Bedelia should have been a bigger star). It is the rare movie that completely sucks me in and allows me to give myself up to it. I didn't want it to end. Some reviews were critical of the fact that there is a bit of a mystery in the movie. I don't agree with that sentiment. As I said earlier, this movie would have been just fine on its own if it hadn't gotten tagged with the "holiday" tag.
Finally, the best thing about the movie is that it is subtle. It didn't beat you over the head with the potential for romance. I would image that many people were disappointed in the last scene (probably the same group that hated the ending of the Sopranos) because they didn't show you exactly what happened. The best movies allow the viewer to fill in the blanks. We don't need to see everything on screen to know that something happened. That's not the point.
The worst part about the movie? I think that this movie ruined the Hallmark-ish kinds of movies for me. The movie started in a traditional way and for the first 20 minutes I had the mindset that cheese was on the way. Instead I was blown away. How do I go back to the traditional schlock? Damn you, Netflix.

Basic at most. Weak comedy, dull storylines... The most enticing about it probably were the location shots of NY. Please don't do Sex and The City dirty by comparing.
Imagine the cast of Million Dollar Listing only without the mind-blowing deals, acting in a bland sexless humourless episode of Sex and The City. Now stretch this over 8 episodes, sponsored by Grindr and 23andMe. Got it? Now find something else to watch.
Exactly how the writers and cast managed to turn this super sweet book into a sh*t movie is completely beyond me.
It's not great, but it's not a trash fire. I think all of the actors are doing great jobs, but the dialogue isn't always on point, and multi-cam sitcoms just get so zany with their plots and the choices the characters make, they often become so unrealistic it's unwatchable. I hope that doesn't happen to HIMYF, but I can already see it happening a little.
That being said, I think for the first season this is a great jumping off point, and once the writers really find the right tone it could be a really good show.
