I was excited when I first heard there was a show about a female soccer team lost in the woods eating each other, then disappointed when I found out it was about cannibalism.
Sorry folks but this one didn't go well for Marvel. I don't even know where to start. Acting was average, more like below average. Screenplay was as much ordinary as it could be. No surprise here. CGI was OK but it's somehow expected from Marvel. But I totally didn't like the idea of Wakanda. Hidden city in the center of Africa with tons of technology and advanced weapons and systems and so on. But how the hell did they build all of that? No explanation. It just happened. Yes, they have Vibranium, but they don't sell it. In fact they never did and for whole world they are just a bunch of shepherds and farmers. So where did they take all that money to build empire like this? I don't like movies without explanations and this is one of them. Almost nothing has been told about Vibranium whatsoever. Oh yeah, it's some super thing from the universe capable of anything. That's all the explanation you get. There are too many clichés we have already seen too many times. And we have to see them again. One example: I challenge someone for a fight because I want to kill him. And when I have the chance to kill him, what would I do? Kill him or throw him down from the cliff to the water where he can survive? But enough. If you hesitate if to watch this, I can recommend not to waste your time. Wait for the Avangers where you can also see the Black Panther. You won't miss anything if you miss out this movie.
when the critics are using words like "masterpiece", and Den Of Geek is proclaiming that it sits at the top of the MCU, you know a movie is over hyped, and boy, is Black Panther over hyped. the movie is OK, but certainly nowhere near being a masterpiece, and definatly nowhere near the top of the MCU, not even close. Chadwick Boseman is boring and lacks charisma, the female characters are much more interesting. Killmonger is a boring villain, Klaue was much more interesting, but god forbid a white villain be given the spotlight over a black villain. do i care about the plight of black people around the world? yes, do i care about someone's skin colour? no, its not the reason i watch a superhero movie. people are hyping this up into the movie they want it to be, rather than the movie it actually is.
This was a huge step down from the previous film. I thought the first act was straight-up bad and not at all enjoyable. The COVID mentions felt dated and overly forced, and this film only just came out. That doesn't bode well for how this film will age. However, once the film gets going it gets better and is enjoyable, and they drop the COVID stuff, which in turn, actually makes the COVID mentions at the beginning feel even worse and more pointless than they had felt initially.
I thought that the plot felt far more simple and extremely predictable compared to the first film. I also thought that the characters (aside from Blanc), were largely much worse - both in writing, and performances given by the cast.
Daniel Craig and Benoit Blanc is just as good as he was in the first film, and he absolutely steals the show every time he's on screen. I also found Janelle Monáe as both Andi and Helen to be decent. Edward Norton's billionaire character, Miles Bron, was a mixed bag, and although he started out quite interesting with some potential, I found his character to inevitably be overly shallow and poorly written.
As far as the rest of the cast went? It wasn't so good. Most of them, such as Whiskey, were simply bland and forgettable. But others were downright awful characters that were overly shallow and just plain annoying. Kate Hudson's 'Birdie' was probably the worst offender here, and I found that her character lowered the quality of every scene she appeared in.
I realise that this review has been largely negative, but what I will say is that Glass Onion is still a mostly fun and entertaining experience for the majority of its runtime. I had a lot of fun watching it (aside from the first twenty minutes or so), and I don't regret it at all. I'd recommend watching it if you enjoyed the original film, but I just don't think it's anywhere close to being anything great like its predecessor was.
Modern Family does what's best in comedy: subtle awkward situations that make you laugh uncontrollably, even though if someone sees the same scene as you, they will never get why and how it's funny. You can't judge Modern Family based on some episodes seen sporadically, no, you'll have to go from the start and watch all of it, for the comedy to become apparent to you.
The 2nd half of this episode felt rushed. They should have added 1 more episode or maybe another 30 minutes to this one to finish some things off.
Like an orgy: lots of action and sensations, though a bit messy and will leave you feeling empty and under-satisfied when you're done.
Those of you who loved the charm and comedy of the first Ant-Man are going to be as let down as a Chinese weather balloon.
Fantastic episode. The two best episodes of the 4 so far have had no Amy Schumer and no Cara Delevigne. Imagine that.
The CW network attempts to simulate mystery with depth, unfortunately it didn't work. Bad teen dramas are bad teen dramas, but, at least the kids get to practice acting — maybe with luck they’ll even get skilled at it... or be in something with talented writers. If not, they'll wind up as yesteryear's teen actors playing parents, teachers, coaches and law enforcement officers in future mediocre CW teen dramas like the token adults in "Riverdale".
Two hours of Emma “I have four acting credits to my name” Mackey being a better actress than some Hollywood fossils.
I love Dexter since years, so I don't want to be too negative here.
But I have to say: I am so f?#*ing disappointed in S6 that I am thinking about to stop watching it till the last remaining episodes have aired - then watch them all in fast motion.
And someone please give Jennifer Carpenter (Debra) a Golden Globe/Emmy/etc. for her outstanding performance in every single episode.
"Best Actress on Television"
Damn this show is f'ing good.
I'm feeling somewhere in the middle about it all. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. Overall, this was an inferior season to the first.
The creators said they wanna do five seasons, and they wrapped up the major plot points in two seasons. Where do they go from here? What else is there to tell? Three seasons of hunting? There is no more suspense, we know pretty much who survives, and I’m not invested in backwards cap girl, Akilah, or Mari to feel bad when they get hunted.
I was tired of the Adam storyline, so I'm not broken up about it ending, yet the way it was hand waved at the last minute was so strange. Like the cops aren’t going to ask questions about two deaths of people who were intimately involved, a bunch of people at the cult pointing guns at each other. The entire cop plotline falls apart if you give it more than 2 seconds of thought. The scene of Walter threatening Saracusa felt like a D-grade Lifetime movie. If someone told me to explain how Walter tied up the police investigation, I wouldn't know how.
Another finale death. That's a cheap trick and easy way to end a finale and it's been done over and over in television. And all because the actress doesn't want to part of the show anymore. I'm okay with adult Natalie being gone since I didn't enjoy Juliette in the role. She was weak compared to the others. But Nat's death was sloppy. Like getting stabbed by Misty is one of the dumbest ways to die. Teen Nat has always been a stronger character than adult Nat.
Who's been watching Taissa's kid this whole time since his other mom is indisposed. Also remember she used to be a senator?
Where’s Crystal’s body? That doesn’t seem like an interesting enough plot point to extend across multiple seasons.
Natalie being the antler queen is good reveal, and the acts of the girls bowing to her is the sign of a new era. The destruction of the cabin represents the last remains of their humanity being destroyed as they lost it when letting Javi die.
Travis would just bite into his a few hours prior deceased brother's heart raw and eat it? It did his character so dirty. He was so distraught when he went missing and now he's like yammy.. And how was he so passive to Van's comments?
I enjoyed Shauna's reaction to not being named the Queen though, and writing about it in her little diary, now that is some teenage girl energy.
How do the girls have all this energy to run around screaming and trying to kill each other and beat each other up when they're starving? We don't really see the effects starving has on them save for hallucinating and acting insane. Totally agree that cuts through my immersion. In so many scenes they more or less act "normal" and not like people on the verge of dying.
I liked that the cabin burned. It was probably Ben and I don’t think it was a sudden change on his character. It makes sense. He was already terrified of the girls since they’ve eaten Jackie.
It just becomes clearer to me that there really is no “it”, there’s no wilderness spirit driving them. They were starved, traumatized teenagers and they needed something to believe in. Or at least to justify their actions.
It was really weird how adult all the ladies were about to hunt and kill one of their own suddenly for no reason as no one is starving- surrounded by a ton of people (cult members) after having a fun night of cocktails and telling sad stories.
I will be back for season 3, but this season was a tad bit disappointing. I hope they decide to make season 3 the last. I can't see this lasting 5 seasons. We have already started the hunting, we pretty much know who survives vs. who doesn't (other than confirmation on coach Ben), which eliminates so much intrigue.
I mean this with the greatest of respect, but I feel like this is made for the generation of people currently on Twitter replying to all cinema posts with "sksksksk fr fr yasssssss we WILL be seated". It's an interesting twist on the high school, raunchy comedy with a gay twist, but nothing really comedically landed for me throughout the majority of this. I really did enjoy the soundtrack and aesthetic of the movie though, and the outtake sizzle reel at the end was great. Just alright, not to the heights that the internet would have you believe, but still decent enough.
could Richmond get a win ffs??!!! it's heartbreaking
A tension filled, heartfelt adventure about a man and his dog(s). Solid performances and an intriguing true story make for a pretty great romp through icy Alaska. Between this and The Lighthouse, Defoe is having a great year for movie defining monologues. Honestly quite surprising that something of this quality has been relegated to Disneys streaming platform, but I'm certainly not complaining.
10/10 based on the first two episodes….
I should have known better then to doubt a Sheridan show….
I thought for one moment that this was going to be the usual woke feminist rubbish we usually get from tv companies, but Sheridan once again gives us a bloody fantastic show, with strong woman and stronger men…..
This is how you write a powerful female character and make it real!!!!
This was an extremely disappointing episode after the first to say the least...
The show is literally r/watchitfortheplot material.
Another not so amazing story. Snore.
1, 5 - Great
3, 4 -Good

I would advice you to skip 2nd episode. Its boring and acting is kinda meh.
