Plan B

I didn't expect this movie to be so beautiful. No scene is wasted, every moment counts. Everything is so perfect that I felt my heart aligned with the two characters. For me, it's not possible that they are acting. Two perfect actors. It's just so natural. What a movie. Simply great.

RuPaul's Drag Race Holi-Slay Spectacular

i loved this goofness lol. it's purposefully cringe and it's good to see these queens in this noncompetitive environment. i hope they do more of these.

The Lost Daughter

OLIVIA COLMAN. JESSIE PLEMONS. DAKOTA JOHNSON.

this is my favorite kind of movie: carried by great actresses. i loved it.

The Cobbler

Adam Sandler receiving an extraordinary gift and using it in the dumbest way possible over and over again. Despite the lazy and idiotic decisions, I had a great time. The crazy plot twist and what came after made me pretty sure that Adam's character is crazy and is probably in a psychiatric clinic imagining this story. I love the couple with Carmen.

What a beautiful movie. It's all just beautiful.

Encanto

Both times I watched it, it felt rushed and shallow. But it's so beautiful and funny, and the songs are so good and the characters so captivating, that I fall in love everytime and end up wanting to watch it again.

Don't Look Up

A great but not excellent movie.

The dialogues are sometimes disappointing, and the way the satire was made is exaggerated in a way that sometimes doesn't seen real (is all humanity really that stupid? c'mon).

I was feeling entertained but disappointed until the last act, when I enjoyed it a bit more. I liked the ending they chose - it causes the impact required from a film that looks so much like our own reality; it enhances the rest of the movie.

Although it's always a pleasure for me to watch both Jennifer Lawrence or Cate Blanchet acting, it's kinda sad that in a movie with so many great actors, there isn't even one outstanding performance. Shame on whoever gave Dicaprio and Streep such small characters (even the characters being important figures).

And one little thing: Ariana Grande unfortunately doesn't fit in here. I think other singer/actresses like Lady Gaga or Cher would've understood the assignment better and give actual weight to the film.

Fabulous! The Story of Queer Cinema

Good but shallow documentary. Despite its valuable content, it's too white and American-centered for my taste.

Eternals

I can safely say that it's the first Marvel movie I really liked since Endgame. I love these characters, and the filmography is really beautiful. I'm really excited to see more of this in the future of the MCU. Although I can't help feeling that there's something wrong with the rhythm of the story. Did I expect better? Yes. Did I enjoy what I get? Hell yeah.

Jaws

I didn't really connect with this movie - I thought it was too long. The acting is good enough, the script too. Watching it in theaters must have been an unforgettable experience - an experience that, in the 70s, would make me rate the movie a top ten. However, watching it for the first time in 2021, I found it boring. Great, but redundant.

Dune

I just watched Dune for the second time right now, and it just became more incredible. The acting, the special effects, the tone. This is gold sci-fi. I want to watch this again and again, and see more of this universe (as long as it keeps the quality of this movie in its sequels)

Titane

Watching this movie, I didn't really understand why they chose it for the awards it has won. It really is a great movie, but... why?

And then, now, hours after I've watched it, I still find myself thinking about the things in this movie. And I understand why this movie is such a happening. The metal body, the sex in the car, the feminine dance in front of the men, the father and son relation... I'm just glad that this movie exists.

A good film. Good acting, good script. Pretty shots. But missing something... maybe an ending. At the end I was like: "What was the point?"

Torre das Donzelas

Dilma Rousseff is one of the greatest people that Brazil has - and each of the women presented here are also great. An extremely personal exhibition about one of the worst moments in Brazilian history, told not by the lens of the great revolutionary men, but by the women who suffered together and, therefore, must enter History together. Very touching and beautiful.

Go Ahead, Brazil!

The acting in the film is always weak or, at times, satisfactory (Antônio Fagundes is spectacular though). Something about the film reminds me of a cheap and sloppy soap opera, which made it difficult for me to connect with it at the beginning. The film has great value in its story, but, for me, that value is lost a little in the midst of several defects in the execution. The first eighty minutes are so slow, full of not-that-great dialogues. But the final action-packed act is perfect. I consider the film relevant but somewhat dated. I don't intend to see it again, but I liked watching it.

P.S .: The small participation of Flávio Migliaccio was a good thing to see. His performance in seconds was better than that of some protagonists.

M8 - When Death Rescues Life

M-8 it's a good movie. A film that I have anticipated so much!

At times, I had the impression that there are many issues addressed there that could be further investigated for drama purposes. The acting and the script surely could deliver more. But it's not a case of an unnecessary or bad film. I connected a lot with the film and found it beautiful. Looking forward to the evolution of this director, who has everything to become a great Brazilian filmmaker.

Body Electric

What a beautiful film. The name "Electric Body", for me, was crucial for understanding the film. Naked, beautiful and provoking. I'm so proud of Brazilian cinema. Probably one of my favorite films in life.

Sexual Tension: Volatile

"Sexual Tension" is the PERFECT name for this film. It leaves you suspended for its entire duration. Each touch, each look, each breath is printed on the screen. I LOVE Marco Berger's films because of that. He is very attentive to the details of these relationships of attraction and passion between men.

I admit that the lack of kisses and more concrete actions low-key disappointed me. I KNOW, it's the proposal of the film. And I don't regret seeing it, it's very good.

Simonal

This film is so good, so well done. I could see myself at the time of Simonal. It helped me to understand the fame and history of this great Brazilian singer.

Ps. Isis Valverde is amazing here, as always. Check this movie for its production quality, for the history of Simonal and for her.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I'm watching the whole Harry Potter series for the first time, and this is the only film I didn't like It. It felt boring until the ending. The ending was great, left me excited for the final two movies, but the movie is not that good.

Casa Grande

A good film, that reminded me a lot of Parasite (but not as good as). Something that weighed negatively on me was the main actor, who plays the son. He acts very badly. The other actors are also not extraordinary. If the performance was remarkable, this film could be remarkable. As it isn't, the film loses some of its strength. It's not bad, it's not great. A good film.

Shortbus

I actually chose to watch it just because of the nudity (and it really has a LOT), but I ended up loving the film for the sensitivity and the construction of the characters. it is a captivating film, it stays with you. I didn't expected to like it, but I ended up loving it.
