I'd like to point out that this movie is trying to call itself a "comedic, horror", But after seeing this movie, the only comedic horror that you've been viewing, is M. Night Shyamalan's movie career.
This was just painful. I would have loved to been there when this story was pitched, by M Night
I came across this gem on Netflix, and I find it absolutely hilarious. It's a shame it has ended, but if you're a fan of IT Crowd and other geek related shows, this is a must see. Loved it.
Homeland meets Silence of the Lambs.
Excellent show! A very clever and original show. The story, characters, costume and set design, cinematography, narrator - and so much more- really pulls you into a fictional wonderland. It always seems these beautiful and unique shows come and go so quickly without many people taking notice. A rare gem that was canceled way too soon. Fans of this show might also enjoy Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me for television series, Amelie, the movie, is a wonderful comparison to the stylization of this show.
Anti-climatic? I don't know. I love all the leads in this movie, but the movie itself just falls a little flat for me. Also, being a native New Yorker, the constant slips on the accent drive me crazy!
It's a good film, but for me, no re-play quality. I'm still waffling on my score though...
Awesome! A must-see for fellow fans of The 4400, Heroes, Misfits, etc.. Hope it has a long lifespan!
If you can ignore the fact that the cameramen have unlimited battery life, don't have to worry about where to sleep and eat, are never asked or forced to help in any situations, choose to continue filming even though they have been left for dead, and the contestants still choose to act as if they are on a reality show by giving confessionals/interviews with the camera despite being abandoned in the middle of nowhere, realizing there is no game any more, and their cast mates are being killed, this might be a show for you!
this was like an Asian Shameless. very well done, great acting, great storyline. I didn't have any expectations watching this movie, but I was definitely pleased.
Such an odd and interesting movie. I did start to lose interest towards the end but still an intriguing story.
A captivating and beautiful story. For me, this story is told in such simplicity as it doesn't get caught up in the complexity of human dialogue to explain Chiron's journey or his emotions because it does an incredible job of evoking the feelings and empathy from you without it.
Definitely my top favorite film of last year.
I really enjoyed this show, and honestly if @mellowB hadn't watched it, I probably would have ignored it indefinitely. This show had such potential and I found it quite funny from the get-go, and wish we could see where this would have gone, but thanks for the short ride any way. ALso, as a side note, it was the title of the show that made me ignore it.
Another show to say bye to! I enjoyed it, it wasn't over-the-top hilarious, but I think it might have found it's niche had it been given a second season.
This show is hilarious. She reminds me a lot of Sarah Silverman.
Oh wow, episode two had me LOLing the whole way through! Like @zag2me said, so wrong, yet so right! I wasn't sure after the first episode, but episode 2 is a real stand out!
To be honest, this show makes me want to turn the channel and re-watch Reno 911 instead.
This is a fantastic movie. Clever, quirky, hilarious, witty - this movie was severely underrated! It's a beautiful story and it's told very well. Plus - it's claymation!
This show is absolutely PAINFUL to watch. During the intro (a montage of iPhone videos of the actress) Busy says she thought “Let’s start a campaign for a television show no one has ever seen,” she says. “It’ll be so great!” It is not. I like most of the films and shows that's she's played in her career, but Jesus Christ, who funded this horrible vanity project? Why do all these second rate actors think everyone wants to watch them talk about themselves. Most of her guests are minor celebrity friends of hers, seems like they're just there to support her project out of pity. She's not a good host, she mumbles over her words a lot, like she's getting lost in what she wants to ramble on about, almost like she does a line of coke before the cameras roll. She ends the show by singing a lullaby. No, seriously. BUT, I can't seem to stop watching it, it's like watching a ship sink. So, points for that.
I've been wanting to watch this series since its debut, but somehow it's always eluded me when looking for something to watch. I completely binge-watched the whole series over the holidays and, I almost want to do it again, I liked it so much. I didn't think I was going to continue watching it, from the first episode but gave it a chance, then I couldn't STOP watching it.
I enjoyed the character development throughout the series. I was amazed at how interested I was in each story of each character. It was very engaging for me.
Another brilliant anthology series from Masterpiece Theater. A real treat from the usual drudgery of today's lineups in the US. If you like period dramas, this might be for you, was definitely worth it for me.
Beautiful story. Had me in tears a few times.
I cannot believe this got the ax. THis is by far one of my favorite shows to grace tv for a long time now. I'm really bummed it got cancelled, they made their four seasons and they'll be in sydication....but DAMN!! :(
OH, such sad. I really, really enjoyed this show! I know @MellowB can concur. would have loved to see it move to another channel/line-up, surely will miss this one!.
Shame, got the ax! I enjoyed this show, not the greatest, mostly enjoyed Dalia's true to life, vapid, emptiness of her character. I'll miss it!
Thanks! I"m surprised I haven't added those yet! I am a fan, I just haven't watched any of them completely, yet! :)
Stellar performances from Meryl Street and Julia Roberts. Brutally real and honest story-telling. Meryl Streep absolutely deserves an Oscar here. Excellent movie.
Really wish I had seen this in Imax 3D, still a good film, but I think to truly enjoy it would have been in the theatre.
"DUNH-DUNH-DUNNNH!" The Croods ended up being much funnier than I had expected! Love the characters, especially Gran, Sandy, and Belt! I had a few good laughs and the movie itself is visually stunning!
"No, I'm not some sort of fucking nut!"
"hahahah"
"Giggle all you want! Giggle! Giggle, dirty little man! You always giggle falsely! You don't have a decent giggle in you!"
"I am a decent-"
"SHUT UP LITTLE MAN!"
I felt like the movie desperately wanted to be shocking and funny but comes across too forced that it becomes distracting and disorganized. I thought it was okay, but not good enough to earn a place in my collection.
A bit disappointing, in my opinion. But served it's purpose as something to watch on a rainy Saturday. If I didn't track that I'd watched it on trakt, I'd probably never remember it again.
Some Girls is both witty and silly. Comedy style is similar to that of The Inbetweeners. Looking forward to another season!
