Started watching initially because of Britt Robertson and stayed because of Susannah Flood (Kate Littlejohn)
I can't believe I've had this show in my library for more than a year and I've only recently started watching it... One of my biggest mistake regarding tv shows...
This show is just amazing! You just care about all the characters, nothing is black and white, a character you hate one instant can become your favorite in an episode time, you can go from laughter to tears in a matter of minutes. The stories are so well written they just seem so real. And the actors are just perfect. I don't think there is one I don't like, not event one with room for improvement. This is one of the best casting I've seen in a lot of time.
Everyone should just watch it, it is one of the best show I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of them.
And I'm normally not a big fan of tv shows set in the past.
It's really hard after watching it to go back to newer and lighter shows. They just seem dull...
So, in the end Strobel couldn´t disprove the basis for the christian faith therefore he drops everything, accepts it as fact, and converts. I wouldn´t go as far as saying this story is propaganda but it surely left me with an aftertaste. Yes, I am an atheist but I have no problem with believers. To each his own. But I have never in my life tried to convince someone who believes that he is wrong.
The movie itself was OK, that is it is well made. The side story with the innocent cop shooter could have been another movie itself. Vogel did a good job while the others had not many screen time to shine.
I'd like to point out that this movie is trying to call itself a "comedic, horror", But after seeing this movie, the only comedic horror that you've been viewing, is M. Night Shyamalan's movie career.
This was just painful. I would have loved to been there when this story was pitched, by M Night
This is just stupid. The only thing I found amazing about the whole thing was that I watched it all! I kept waiting for something intriguing to happen... and it just ended.
i just watched this movie for the second time and it's still fantastic
A brightly-colored fantasy tale revolved around dreams, treated with horror elements. It's strange, hypnotically bizarre, emotional, heartwarming, a lot spookier than anticipated, a completely fun ride from start to finish. It is a delight to even look at! The color palette and visuals of this film are the strongest aspects but the narrative is pretty decent as well. I'm obsessed with the colorful and imaginative set design, costumes, and stop motions. The concept is also very unique and original. It’s certainly an odd film that's comfortable in its own absurdity. Not only does it stick to it, but it does it in a way that feels natural and organic to the world it has created. I love the characters and it perfectly portrays the emotions desired. It's just so beautiful that there are some scenes that's just on loop in my mind right now. I definitely recommend.
This feels more like a rant than a review, nevertheless - The testimony of this series and its implications are disturbing. RANT: Isn't it time society dismantles the cult of celebrity that drives our culture (lest you feel exempt, it is not just the folly of our young - adults put a reality TV celebrity in the White House!). Parents talk with your children about their heroes and teach them how to identify/decipher a brand or a public persona to separate it from the person. It is so important that we remember that, regardless of their bursts of maturity, teens are biologically children and need guidance and protection until their natural facilities are matured. Also, official agencies and populous movements have power, so we need to be wise enough to weigh the testimony and act with social responsibility, according to the evidence (for example - Mute R. Kelly.) I truly hope this important documentary will bear fruit to protect or rescue the helpless. For an update on the response since the documentary aired, follow >https://www.thecut.com/2019/01/what-happened-to-r-kelly-after-documentary-timeline.html< (they promise to keep it updated as things change) END RANT. I give this series an 8 (important) out of 10. [Documentary Series]
Sorry, I don't think your skin color has anything to do with it.
It's not that nobody cares because they are black girls...
The thing is, he is famous, he has money, he has power, he has fans, connections,
and a lot of people probably think they are after the money.
Some girls saw R Kelly as a chance to become big too.
They let him do whatever he wants on hope for better days.
He has money and some people are buy-able. Also to shut people up.
It's a heartbreaking documentary! I'm shocked...
What shocked me the most is that he gets away with this, he should be locked up for life.
He destroyed the lives of so many people. the young girls are not to blame here.
We need justice for those victims.
It saddens me to see how naive some people are to this day and want to believe that he is innocent.
I can't believe the people that still support him.
There was one girl Jerhonda Pace that went to his trial, supporting him.
She knew, and you can tell me everything but this girl was after him. Sorry!
R Kelly is for sure a predator a disgusting pedophile and he made a lot of innocent victims.
But her story didn't add up to me.
After this documentary I watched some more interviews she did, and sorry but I don't believe some things she is saying.
I hope there comes justice for his victims.
For a man to use his position and power to abuse women and enslave minors for his sexual pleasure is disgusting and evil.
He got away with this for way too long!
I'm trying to understand what I just watched. I mean, this is undoubtedly terrible in every way, but it's also... kind of great? I'm not sure.
The whole thing screams low budget and at times it doesn't look much different to a student production that you might see on YouTube. The acting is very mixed and the special effects would have looked dated 30 years ago. The first episode especially makes these issues extremely clear with some awful quality greenscreening and amateur CG visuals.
And yet, this web series knows what it is. It fully embraces its cheapness and decides to have fun. Of all things, the writing is actually fairly good, even hilarious at points. It feels like the people behind this had a lot of affection for the original Critters series and wanted to make something that could stand with them. They obviously didn't have the resources for that, so they were forced to do what they could.
From a story point-of-view, this is surprising. It goes into some new territory and does so with a smile on its face. The first few episodes don't suggest just where this is going to go (and their low quality in comparison to what comes later is a bit of a stumbling block). One of the biggest changes is that the Crites are far more intelligent here than the ones we saw in the films, and I ended up really liking that. They are the stars of the series and are given a lot to do, as well talking to each other a lot (via subtitles), and most of what they say is genuinely funny.
A surprise celebrity voice performance towards the end works far better than I would have expected it to.
The Crites are realised through puppetry just as they were in the movies, and they look about the same as they did back then. That is to say, kind of cheesy but also surprisingly charming. This is gorier and more adult than the film series (which mostly got away with '12' ratings here in the UK) and also a lot sillier.
I very much doubt this is going to have much of an audience given it's method of distribution, lack of publicity and extreme low budget. I think only big fans of the Critters movies will get anything out of this, and fortunately that includes me. This isn't good by any means, but damn it, I had fun.
A surprisingly gripping show. Highly recommended.
How can it be simple yet that powerful? Easily one of my favorites this year.
Definitely the most beautifully constructed body of work of the year. This aesthetic, wonderfully directed and edited piece of video keeps it compelling from the very start to the end, as Mr. Jenkins proves for the first time he is a genre virtuoso, whose screenplay is plaintively artful and remains outstanding all over the film, a combination that delivers a masterful, at times unsettling filmmaking of immaculate ecstasy. Allow me to say something short and simple as it should be: this — ladies and gentlemen — is the movie of the year. This, is the story of a lifetime.
I am very amused by the annoyance experienced by the two other comments on here. Complete disagree. Love this show!
Not as powerful as I expected - too Hollywoody - but it still had a strong message on equality with great performances from Moore and Page. Sadly prejudices still exist - from the small minded particularly - but I will stand in solidarity to achieve equal rights for all who love each other.
For me a powerful moving film on so many levels. The story and plot, the actors all top notch Julianne Moore and Michael Shannon as always fill their characters and the screen with their roles. The support all add to this really showing the emotional tears between what they know is right and their assumed responsibilities.
I'm sad I missed it in theatres but I may have ended up crying in public so at least I did that at home.
Not sure why all the hate around this movie. It is an ok movie, with an important story. I enjoyed it and I think anyone would.
Offbeat comedy thriller is enjoyable to watch, helped in part by its unusual characters and off the wall dialogue.
Having just watched the film, I gotta say: if this doesn't make you disgusted with how our government has treated not only its own people but other countries' civilians, then nothing will. Just a note: Republican or Democrat, both parties contributed to this surveillance disaster! I'll end the rant by saying this movie is good, and the ending was incredible, but has a lot of slow parts. With that, the only fair way to end this: Pardon Snowden Already, Obama.
Why is it when Denzel is in a movie he NEVER disappoints. He is in a league of his own. Viola is quickly becoming the same.
Where the hell is the shyamalan of The Sixth Sense, unbreakable, signals...
One point for this... This... Thing!
every single "found footage" style has people saying that ; they are either tiered of it, or don´t like it / understand it.
It´s me that don´t understand why you guys bother. i mean, i don´t like musicals,so I don´t watch them ( if for some reason im forced to see one, i surely will not bash it for obvious reasons) .
Found footage is here to stay. Either you like or or not. I love them. some are bad, some are good others extraordinary. a bit like all genres and sub-genres ;)
wow! very dramatic! i really liked it. it has a lot of potential
Strike back has been confirmed for another season! Really glad they didn't drop it, they really picked up after the first season.
Prefered it when they called it Total Recall 2070, but not bad.
the best spy show yet.
i own all the movies on vhs and now the trilogy on blu-ray and it is truly amazing. this is my favourite movie of all time since i was a kid, and you can hold me to it.
Amazing sequel. As with any comedy of this type, there are some idiotic parts, but on the whole, fantastic comedy. Kept me laughing.
