They should just have let Picard retire. Instead they stubbornly keep pulling him out of the mothballs. Too pretentious, and terribly boring. Resistance is futile, but I won't be annihilated.
Red sky for the Rumbling - gift that keeps on given. It allowed flashback and Marley's part of the episode to standout in particular. I love how much they focused on destruction and casualties. I liked Armin's outburst, Annie spilling her guts and of course comeback of a Harmless man.
Boy, does Floch have a way with words. The moment he encourage someone to go in the direction they were already going, it always works out as final wake-up call.
Btw, Mappa adapted ch. 125 panel to panel. Only 5 episodes left. Damn, what a choice of a chapter for cliffhanger:bangbang:
I hope movie is already in the works. In the pandemic years are flying by anyway..
I have yet to understand why the entertainment business always feel the need to “update” the literary classics when they try to dramatize them. It's been a few years since I last read the Jules Vern classic, but I seem to remember that Fix was the name of the Scotland Yard Detective that was hunting Fogg because he thought he was a bank robber, not a woman journalist traveling companion. What I can't seem to remember is a black Passepartout. Nor was it all this political commentary that this "version" have in each and every episode. I also believe that the fellow Fogg wagered the 20k with was named Stuart, not Bellamy. To be honest, there's almost nothing in this series that Mr. Verne actually wrote, apart from a few names.
Then..
Why not change the names of the characters and call it something else?!!!?
...because this is certainly NOT Jules Verne's Around the World in Eighty Days.
The most exciting part of the episode was seeing Matt Berry’s name in the closing credits and realizing that he had a cameo.
I don't really know what to think about the second season of "The Witcher." The episodes from 1-6 were not masterpieces but they were quite good, especially when they used elements of Sapkowski's books and hinted at the matters only the book readers can catch, it felt promising that maybe we would see the story taken from the novels this time, but the episodes 7-8 ruined the show totally, so I have no idea how to evaluate the season as a whole. It was constantly hinting at more book elements and never delivering them. I must say I am rather disappointed and in hindsight it seems to me that the best episode this season was the first one, which was a relatively faithful adaptation of one of my favourite short stories by Sapkowski, "Grain of Truth", after that everything was slowly going downhill.
A bit of a nothing burger, it doesn’t really get interesting until the final 20-30 minutes.
There are a few entertaining bits inbetween (e.g. there’s a fun scene with Paul Rudd in a Wallmart), but there’s not nearly enough going on.
It’s just mostly bland: some decent acting and directing, but there’s not a lot of action, mystery, charm, clever comedy, drama or characters to get invested into (besides McKenna Grace).
For example, Finn Wolfhard gets as much development as the older brother from Jurassic World, he’s a teen and he wants to get laid. That’s all you get, and it’s not that interesting.
There are, of course, a lot of ‘member berries, which add nothing besides empty nostalgia.
The original Ghostbusters leave the biggest impression with just 5 minutes of screentime, and they clearly didn’t even give a shit about being there.
It’s not the worst thing ever, but this falls short of the benchmark for this kind of movie.
Just watch the original, or anything directed by Spielberg and Cameron in the 80s/90s.
5/10
Why this even has the name Star Trek is beyond me. Watched the complete season 1, no exploring or positive vibes at all. I will recomend any true trekkie to avoid this like the plague
Wait! It's a Marvel movie? No no I'm tired of those.
Dunno where to start... Too much of everything that tries to be meaningfull, deep and extraordinary but failing hard on it. A mixture of trying a good new western storyline while throwing everything onto the screen no matter if it fits or supports the story.
Network must be regretting signing for 4th season. So bad. Need a real captain and number 1.
Where was this group of "diverse" heroes when Thanos attacked in Infinity War and Endgame? One of the many plot holes that this film has, added to the boring general plot. Without a doubt a waste of time, and this confirms that Marvel is no longer in its best days.
Cinematic Eternals is lightly based on the comic book of Jack Kirby, perhaps the most important man in American comics, from whose pen the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Hulk, Captain America and hundreds of other superheroes were created. heroes of the Marvel Comics universe but also of DC. And i say lightly because for the sake of the lgbtq+ MESSAGE, the nationalities, genders and sexual preferences of all the heroes CHANGED while others were "created exclusively for the film" such as the hero Phastos. These money maker companies need to learn to respect the artist!
I think you have to be a bit retarded or undergo a lobotomy to enjoy this show from Season 2 onward. Only then you can relate to erratic and senseless behaviour of most of the main characters and absurd logical errors in the script... I just cannot. I think the screenplay is written by a random brainless monkey just as a stylised background for a mediocre splatter show.
It was alright. I don't like Debra as the new Harry.
I hope Harrison doesn't become Dexter's new protege. The writers already tried that with other people.
No interesting side characters so far.
I don't mind the new setting or the slower pace but for 11 more episodes? Jury's out.
Great first episode. I knew being on Showtime there would be some woke crap in it. There was plenty of wokeness and diversity in the first episode. I hope they got it all out of their system and we can now just enjoy this great show again. I can only guess why Dexters son has shown up to find him. (Missing Girls) maybe :smiling_imp:
Different if you are not a fan of westerns. It has every cliché in the genre (the story is a rip off of Once Upon a Time in the West with the style of Django Unchained)
Pure style and little substance (I shouted "fk off" at the stretching of the image at the end).
A waiting a so long time for ... this.
OST is bad, with no emotion. I can belive is an Hans Zimmer composition.
The editing of the title "song" is bland, fortunately the song interpreted by Billie Einish raises the level
Ian Flemind must be turning over in his grave...
First at the beginning James Bond doesn't work for MI6 and the 007 number is given to a black woman, then James Bond meets his daughter, James Bond daddy, .... and the best of all the elimination of all the members of SPECTRE.
And the worst thing is the end > James Bond is simply killed. I find this very irrespectful against Daniel Craig who has always invested himself in the interpretation of 007. He has even been physically injured on the set several times. Certainly he will return with a new interpreter? At the point where we are why not an obese 18 years, in a wheelchair, with piercings and vegan.
I’m so very tired of the EVIL RUSSIAN TROPE. Maybe I’d like modern action movies if the villains weren’t always "Russians who want to destroy America/the world." No motivation, just being Russian is enough to be evil. Who else than a Russian!? What would Hollywood be if Russia didn’t exist? They would not have a single villain! The whole industry would’ve collapse if they didn’t have the Russians. Get a new plot line, already!
Rami Maleks vaguely Russian accent is an insult. Hollywood/Brits are allergic to hiring Russian actors to play ... Russians. Why, while there are tons of Russian-speaking actors in Hollywood/Britain you bring people who barely can pronounce simple phrases or even their names?
I couldn't finish this long car commercial. Bond, as per usual, behaves following the same logic as Bella in the Twilight Saga. The film is formulaic and utterly boring.
[IFFR] The opening of Rotterdam FF is a fascinating film, built on a solid script with brilliantly developed characters. Between the dark comedy and the thriller, it has characteristics of other ATJ titles, but in some moments, in the game of coincidences and the weird tone, it is reminiscent of the Coen brothers. Addressing topics such as grief and the consequences of our actions, this film is full of surprises.
The crazy quartet (Anders Thomas Jensen, Mads Mikkelsen, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Nicolas Bro) delivers once again.
Fun, sad and funny, had a great time watching this!
One of my favourite movies of the year. Outstanding dramatic and comedic tonal shifts. The chemistry between the actors is undeniable. An absolute treat to watch. I look forward to watching their previous work together. 9.2
I don't know what it is exactly about this show, but it's just not compelling TV. I loved the comics (it's one of the best comic series ever), but whatever magic was there didn't translate to the screen despite the series sticking pretty close to the tone of the original material.
I watched 4 episodes and I'm just... bored. Agent 355 is interesting, but only marginally so. Yorick, while charming in the comics, is like a Shia Labeouf imitator who goes "No no no no no!" every three sentences. And so far, it's mostly just people walking from point A to point B through the woman-only post-apocalyptic landscape.
I'm chalking this one up to another proof that creating a faithful adaptation doesn't always mean you capture the magic of the source material. Read the comics instead!
Should have been labeled 'loosely based on the books by Isaac Asimov'.... Absolutely butchered the books... Disgrace... Woke nonsense
On a positive note, it is beautifully made and the actors do an excellent job.
What a stupid fucking movie why would you even bother when half the characters are gone and are going to be replaced. To make a movie about one of the weakest characters Is The move of a money grubbing piece of shit studio
The most American episode of Rick and morty yet, the perfect thanksgiving episode!
I’m English and I’ve never and will never celebrate thanksgiving so….. meh
Beautiful animation but now I see why it is masters of the universe and not He-man and the masters of the universe…He-man is literally written out and relegated to an insignificant add on…disappointing.
More like She-Man: Whamen of teh Uterverse
#SpoilerAlert: This is not about He-Man. It's the... Teela Show. Complete with the "one side of the head shaved hairdo" that hollyweird seems to THINK all lesbians and/or "strong women" sport.
This series is a big joke and it's completely disrespectful to [1] He-Man fans and [2] Actual women
Unless you have NO IDEA what He-Man is about and/or you're new to this IP (Intellectual Property), don't waste your time on this hot garbage.
Wokeflix attacks again, Teela as She-man? Orko dead? Multiverse with feminism? No thanks i will keep the original series as canon, not this.
Another project f***ed up for SJW. Masters of the Universe is He-man. We don't want to watch Teela. We want He-man. You are ruining He-man as Disney ruined Star Wars with Rey.
:construction: Moderator edit :construction: Let’s keep it respectful.
