Watching this just pissed me off all over again on Amber Heard’s behalf, the vitriol that was hurled at her and anyone that supported her was grotesque, especially when I remember the disgusting tiktoks about her rape story - whether it was true or not is irrelevant.
This is a case that 1000% should have been private and not broadcast for every Tom, Dick, and Harry to view and have an opinion on in real time.
Florence Pugh as the film's lead is great - even if she hasn't got a lot to work with. The divine Celia Imrie is typically brilliant and it was great to see her in a role like this; I was quite shocked at how good she was at being, err, malevolent. The music was good and the visuals were pretty solid, it's just a pity the script and plot were fairly weak. Clocking in at under 90 minutes works in its favour but sadly it's fairly underwhelming overall. Certainly not terrible to fall into "so bad it's good" territory but I fear not quite good enough to recommend - not unless you're really hardpressed for something to watch and have the time to kill. Certainly Celia Imrie has been in far better vehicles. The only real plus point for me was it introduced Pugh as someone to look out for in other films or shows.
loved all the scientology jokes
