Had fun with this one. No frills, no crazy twist, just a good old fashioned popcorn flick.
Well, at least it was better than Old...
In all seriousness, this is the first time I have appreciated Bautista as an actor. And the expectation of a Shyamalan twist actually helped the movie by keeping the tension going all the way until the end.
I just wish the emotional journey of the movie was handled a little more gracefully and a little less Shamalan-ly. But I suppose that's too much to expect.
Also, what was up with Leonard saying, "I didn't realize you were the only female in the family" or whatever? I thought that meant they were going to have to sacrifice a female. Though I'm glad that wasn't the case.
I was expecting another home invasion horror, but it was so much more.
I really enjoyed this one.
More like a 7.5, but I'll round up to 8. Regardless, I really enjoyed this movie! I was hesitant because sometimes M. Night does too much (specifically Old and Avatar come to mind). But this was a really well executed movie. Gripping all throughout, thought provoking, emotionally evocative. I'm truly glad I went to see this movie
If you are a M. Night Shyamalan hater you are going to automatically hate this movie. If you re a fan then the opposite. Was this a good movie? Hell yeah this was a good movie. I definetly recommend a MUST WATCH!
Interesting from a modern version of the bible (the four horsemen of the apocalypse) .. in my opinion, very good.
WOW!! 20 TRAKT votes and the movie isn't even out yet!!!! These are true fans!!!! LOLOLOL
I don't know what to think or say about this except that we need S06 and Justice Smith needs an Oscar nom
Terribly human, for good and bad, Civil War does not shy away from the message it’s trying to portray. The military action sequences are some of the best I’ve ever experienced, and in IMAX each gunshot rang in my ears.
The music was anxiety inducing, even during the calm moments, we feel the characters stress and emotions.
Fantastic film. I wish there was more explanation and world building so we knew why the country was in this state, but I understand the directors decision not to muddy the waters of what he wanted to say.
For anyone that has played Titanfall 2 single player campaign, you have to see the clear "inspiration", even some scenes and dialog are the same ("Trust me"), but the excessive drama spoils the fun. This movie makes me like that game even more, and I have completed that campaign several times.
Didn't expect the violence at all. I was under the impression it would be a fantastic fantasy film and I was wrong. It just was something COMPLETELY different than what I thought it would be.
To me, this is one of the most amazing fantasy films ever. Even more than the classic Lord of the Rings; Harry Potter; The Hobbit—Pan's Labyrinth has the perfect blend of supernatural and magic; brutality and beauty; death and love.
I wish Guillermo del Toro got make a 3rd film. This is much better than the reboot. I haven’t watched it since 2008 for some reason. The movie is visually stunning, quite funny, has cool creatures and entertaining.
Leonardo DiCaprio Performance Was Award Worthy
Johnny Depp Character was also Great
But Leo Stole The SHOW
Raiders of the Lost skull
this is actually a very good movie y’all just scared of aliens admit it
For me not as bad as other reviews suggest, I actually thought ‘Temple of doom’ was the poorest of the franchise. I must admit the cinematography, especially during the sword fight scene was horrifically bad though. My overall opinion is that it was still a fun, happy feeling adventure movie with a still amazing actor in Harrison Ford. 6/10.
The movie is great fun! Absolutely overhated…
Yes the plot is absurd at times and it can’t compare to the original trilogy. But I enjoy it nonetheless.
Y‘all need to stop taking everything so seriously.
Why does his dad look so much like George Clooney???
Surprisingly dark, spectacular animation and a decent story.
The DVD cover of the film painted a different picture but a film based in the actual year 1408..actually would of been pretty cool but I digress.
This was the first night of my Horror/Mind Fuck weekend. Movies I haven't seen. What huge surprise this was! Not so much frightening but the story itself drew me in. The allure and history of the room told in thode first few minutes along with the psychological roller coaster the writer was taken on. Great performances and would defiantly watch again!
Watched this for the flophouse. Much better than I expected but issues w the ending. For the first 1/3, I was thinking just do your job lady. You're being paid for a job do it! Then if haunting still happens, we'll address it.
One of the better horror movies these days. Did not expect the story to take the turn it did. Glad I gave it a try!
I love this movie because it has surprising but clear ending.
This was better than I expected. 7/8
How the movie should have gone:
Mrs Heelshire: ...this is Brahms.
Greta: LOL. Girl, bye.
credits roll
That said, it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I was expecting something in the vein of 'Annabelle', or similar supernatural movie, and thought it was fairly predictable throughout. Until the end, that is, which I definitely did not see coming at all.
This was a surprise! Creepy suspensful movie, well acted, written, and crafted by the director. The boy is creepy as hell!! I would watch the movie again!
I liked the twist but I wish they would've explained the family's story. A couple of jump scares, but not as much as I expected and for what I look for into a horror movie. Lauren Cohan is always a + though.
I really liked this movie. I love when you go into a movie with expextations and come out with something more. This was one of those movies that I thought was just going to be one of those typical haunted 'house' type of things but turned out to be much more interesting. The overall atmosphere of this movie was unsettling, even when nothing happens you feel this uneasy vibe. Good acting, good story, strong ending.
