Directing & writing so intimate yet universally relevant to the human experience, four outstanding performances, beautiful crafts, an ending that’ll leave people to discuss & dissect, and countless tearjerking moments. A great film. Bravo to everyone involved.
There was 100% a track or two from The Shining’s score featured in this episode. Man, this season is excellent so far.
Sobbing. Shivering. This is the greatest hour of television to have ever aired, almost incomparably so. Will never not be engraved in my mind. Utter perfection.
A masterclass debut from Celine Song with three excellent central performances and an emotional impact that’ll last for ages. It’ll be difficult to find a better film this year.
Been a fan of Jamie Lee Curtis for a while now so seeing her win an Oscar and then deliver what might just be the best performance of her whole career in this episode just in the span of a couple months is incredible. An all around amazing episode of television too.
One of the most bittersweet finales I’ve ever seen. Loved it. Farewell Barry, you’ll be missed.
Farewell Succession, there’s no doubt in my mind you’ll be remembered as one of the greatest TV shows of the modern era.
Farewell Mrs. Maisel, you’ll be missed.
Another excellent episode. I felt my heart ache at the parallels made between Logan & Ewan’s brotherhood and Kendall & Roman, the key connections between the women Logan loved, and so many other thematic elements utilized in the masterful fashion the final season of this show has excelled at doing. Can’t wait for the finale.
Also four words.
Kirean. Culkin. Emmy. Now.
you can consider my pants shatted
If I learned anything from Alex Garland’s Men (2022) it’s that you should never ever trust Roy Kinnear. I’m sure he’s a great guy in real life but still- very untrustworthy fella.
This season hasn’t been the greatest so far but this episode was quite special. If you’d told me this episode was the finale of this show I’d be incredibly satisfied.
Just as enamoringly riveting, twisty, emotional, and darkly hilarious as it left off. I’m sure Barry is about to take us on an unpredictable ride with this final season.
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS GENUINELY PHENOMENAL
Holy crap that was intense. I fucking loved every second.
Legitimately cried durning that final scene, what a great finale.
Just as unapologetically sentimental and sweet as I remembered, I’m so so glad this show is back.
Wow, fantastic episode. Not to spoiler anything but that ending scene- the shot singling out the watch- this show continues to surpass my high expectations.
The movie they were watching was The Goodbye Girl, which is one of my favorite films ever, so I automatically love this show so much more than I already had. Excellent episode by the way.
Damn. This is such a phenomenally, phenomenally engrossing show that’s ability to connect on an emotional level is truly unparalleled within the world of television. I’m gonna go to the store buy a box of tissues, grab a pen and write on them how much I love this fucking show, then cry into the tissue.
It’s goofy, it’s super sweet, and I get why that’s a turn off for some but honestly it’s working well for me so far. Jason Segel is at the top of his game.
This is it folks, this is peak television. What we have here is one of the most gut wrenching and masterfully crafted episodes ever brought to screen. Absolutely fucking phenomenal with career best performances from Murray Bartlett and Nick Oferman. Holy shit this will stick with me.
Two episodes in and I’m already convinced by the end of the season this will be regarded in the same vein as GOT, Chernobyl, and Breaking Bad are one of the best shows there ever was. This is some seriously impeccable television.
Quite possibly a perfect pilot. I’m calling it here and now, by the end of the year this show will be regarded as one of the greatest shows in years. Many Emmys are undoubtedly on the way.
Surprisingly enough I’d say the whole rise-and-fall format used in music biopics works better in a limited series rather than film. More character moments were allowed to have room and while I get why some may not like it I really liked how time was set aside to showcase some recreations of musical concert performances. Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon are outstanding, Emmy nomination worthy, in their roles too. It’s a flawed show with most issues stemming from those that always seem to show up in every music biopic story but nonetheless a really good show in general.
R.I.P
Really really sucks that this show was canceled. Sure I get why, maybe not enough people were watching it but still. This all hurts even more since season two ended on such a great note.
Hold up… this episode was fantastic! Can anyone deny this season is better than the first?
Seriously a fantastic film. Some of the best acting, direction, writing, and cinematography you’ll see all year. Kerry Condon better win an Oscar for this.
Good start! I’m already predicting this cast to be even better than the first season, expect like 10 Emmy nominations next year.
Is there anything Glover can’t do?
