I'm holding space for the fact that i might be a dumb dumb but I truly don't understand the purpose of this season. like broadly what the overarching goals of the story are. the shift from season 1s serialized plot structure to more episodic fair is deeply confusing for me
it was perfect down to the last minute detail.
Appropriately both wistful and surreal series finale, glad to have the whole gang for one final outing. And it's very Atlanta to have an ending that evokes Inception but changes the totem question from "Did the top topple?" to "Was Judge Judy thick?" lol. Gonna miss this show.
Decent but felt a bit rushed, they had some great ideas but not enough time or episodes to flesh it all out better.
Another great BTH episode. And I was blindsided by that cameo, omg. Also Henry's silent, very perplexed reactions afterwards. I was thinking "Funny that Neeson would cameo on this show, considering... oh never mind, they incorporate that into the show, plus an extra step of tongue-in-cheek speech that they somehow get him to agree with lmao"
Man, this has been such a good season for Brian Tyree Henry. Very funny episode too.
8.5/10. Very enjoyable episode. Getting to see Barney's origin story, while a little corny, was a great opportunity to parcel out a fun if exaggerated tale about how Barney became Barney, and the premise that he needed other embarrassing stories to motivate him to keep going was a great way to do some fun little one-scene-wonder sketches and even a light retcon. One of the nice things about the first season is that Barney is just Barney, this reprehensible yet charming cartoon character in the lives of the rest of these relatively normal people, and the show doesn't shy away from that. They get the cartoonishness of him just right to where his awful stuff feels like a parody rather than approval. It's a tough tone to strike, but this episode manages it, and even fills in a little heart with Marshall and Lily trying to scope out Victoria and Ted having to confess his prior romantic entanglement with Robin.
How great is it to see Rukh, Noghri assassin and Thrawn's right hand, finally made a part of Star Wars canon? And voiced by Warwick Davis, no less. They seem to have made him more or less true to Timothy Zahn's original character, if maybe a bit less subtle.
I enjoy the mystical elements of this show far more than the action beats, so there was a lot to like here.
I enjoy the mystical part of the story right now much more than another space battle. Not that I don't like space battles but they more or less look all the same. Going into hypdrive through the hangar of another ship - now that's inventive.
Usually I'm not that big into all the romance stuff in Star Wars. But this thing between Hera and Kanan works well. I wasn't thinking of them as a pair from the start but it became apperent throughout the show there is something more than a deep friendship between them. A bit like the Anakin/Ahsoka relationship. But when Thrawn attacked Chopper Base she adressed Kanan as "Love" on the com which I at first thought to be a slip of tongue. But now in hindsight I guess you could say they were a pair before and if that's the case I applaud the writers for not rubbing it in our face all the time.
As if we didn't already know, Ezra is an idiot. Was anybody else kind of hoping he'd die?
The big draw is of course Kenobi and Maul's rematch. There are a few ways this could have been approached and I think the show did the right thing. We obviously know that Kenobi can't lose, so why draw it out? Any tension would have been artificial, but I can imagine that some viewers will be disappointed that it was over instantly.
The final moment with that music did give me a bit of a chill!
There is something to be said about seeing Jedi fight besides battle droids. Or said droids standing opposed to stormtroopers.
Since the whole Clone Wars were the orchestration of Darth Sidious to bring the empire to life, Ezra's understanding that both wariing sides are victims in a war they were never supposed to win is a bit on the nose. But I'll take it. It was a nice tip to the hat towards its predessessor.
This episode was better than the entire "Force Awakens" movie!
Awesome episode but that song during levi vs zeke was honestly a terrible choice.
That was brutal! I didn’t expect the conversation between Eren and Mikasa/Armin to take this turn. Eren did not hold his punches, and then to have Mikasa automatically hold down Armin when he lunged towards Eren was extremely heartbreaking.
Levi’s arc is also tragic, the guy is a badass, there is no doubt about that, but his previous breakdown and then being forced to kill all his comrades was cruel.
Floch is such an irritating character, I want to punch his face whenever he is on screen!
Eren being mean: :frowning:
Levi being a badass:
I suspect Gabi would still be annoying as fuck, even if she wasn't a brainwashed fanatic.
The horse is our hero. This episode, and series, is a great take on the dangers of blaming people for their ancients' actions.
I love how they continue to emphasie how hard it is to be a Commander. I hope all the Erwin haters take a hint and realise how hard it was for him.
What a great opportunity lost, the horse should have killed Gabi.
Levi! Love the character. Another great scene with him. Hope he will survive until the end.
Me: Oh great, seems like it's another of those stalling episodes where nothing really happ... oh shit, OH SHIT, OH SHIT!!!
Oh man, what an ending. That move from Levi came quite unexpected. Really sweet camera work! (yeah I know it's animated but how else would I describe it..)
Watch the ending song, don't escape it, it contains something important.
The episode felt so short :( I wanted it to last longer, I can't get enough of this amazing show
Fucking loved the animation when Levi is swinging around like Spider-Man killing cunts, really interesting episode, this seasons been different so far and I don’t know if I like it but this was interesting to see them murdering humans instead of titans, this just got a little darker.
Amazing episode, the ending song was great, I like it. I still prefer Season 2 intro song than this intro song.
I understand they want to explain everything but aren't they stretching it too much.
I hope more interesting characters will be added in future episodes.
Iain De Caestecker deserves all the awards.
This season wasn't anywhere near as good as the first season, for me. It was still enjoyable, of course. I just didn't like it as much as the first season. I'm hoping the third season will be even better than this season and perhaps even the first.
