#30Coins is brutal, original and risky to say the least. A cocktail of horror, suspense, satanic mythology and we add a few esoteric touches. It's the pure Alex de la Iglesia recipe. It leaves the door open for a second season, which hopefully won't be too long in coming. Outstanding Megan Montaner, Macarena Gómez.
Offensive, Vile, Paranoid, Violent, Perverse, Dehumanising, Base. For some reading these adjectives, this will be a positive review, "Gotta see this, just love lurking around in the dark!" For me this is an indictment against a growing trend in art to elevate the vile and stigmatize hope or goodness. This message is all the more dangerous when marked by good performances, a powerful production, and digested by an immature audience (and I don't just mean chronologically). Good and evil have been a part of the world's framework since the beginning, but, folks, when our creative communities slander and misrepresent good as evil and frame life as inevitable moral failure, they precondition our culture to see a future without hope or choice. I won't support this project and rank it as a 3 (vile) out of 10. [Super Hero Noir]
Whackiest take of a Shades of Grey esque series with terrible dialogues, stereotypes and plot.
Unfortunately I had to sit through this due to my gf. Thanks for that partner.
Typical crapflix show made by bunch of first time film makers who asked ChatGPT to write, cast, film, edit, and produce the show.
Not awfully good cast, acting, directing or script writing. This is forgetful.
OMG, what is this? Its another filler in Netflix catalog. Don't bother, unless you have time to kill and the grass on the lawn outside is growing to slow.
I’ve been patient, I’ve watched 6 episodes but each and everyone is more boring than the previous. It’s a shame…. The idea is good but the writing has let it down terribly. 3 /10 at a push.
S1 was great. S2 is a very good sleep aid.
Okay okay okay!!!!
I got to the end of episode 2 and that’s it I’m out of here……
I don’t care for any of the characters and would be happy to see any of them come to a miserable and gruesome death, it would probably be as long, slow and painful as the show itself…..
On episode one I was 15 mins into it and I just wanted to switch it off, but I forced myself to get to the end.
Then I convinced myself to give episode two a go and just see if it was just a slow burner?
This show is slow, boring and badly acted by all involved.
The dialogue is almost in reverse and delivered in a monotone manner and the whole thing just sends the viewer into a coma………
The actors seem competent and the show seems well scripted, but I'm guessing that if you're over 50 there won't be much here to attract you. The hype was that this was like a throwback to detective shows of the 70s. If you think that, you never watched detective shows of the 70s.
I really enjoyed the 1st season. Was waiting so long for S2.. And it was pushing 5/10. Almost like a different writer was on it. Still Mike White. Sorry Mike, this is a series that should have stopped at the first season. Didn't do it for me at all. Kinda boring & predictable.
Still love Mike Whites work. Everything can't be perfect.
Just when you think it's a parallel world revenge drama, it turns out to be a hilarious drama of soul searching through the past, 9 out of 10 for the first 15 episodes and 0 out of 10 for the last, I simply don't see the point of the middle 13 episodes existing, just watch the first and last episode straight away.
Well its only the 7th of January and I've watched the worst show I'll watch all year, absolutely dreadful from the ridiculous story to the pathetic acting!
If the actors got above the minimum wage for this then they done well for themselves.
Is this really Star Wars? Where's the muppet show, fluffy animals and goofy droids? Where's the B-movie writing and acting? Where's the cheese?
Truly the most unique thing to hit the small screen since Twin Peaks. Donald Glover created something so cinematic yet wildly hilarious that deserves to be spoken about as much as dramas of the last two decades. Atlanta might be the most pivotal piece of fiction to define America since the Trump era. It's insane to see how simple some episodes could be yet alluring us by how unconventional reality can be at times. Anyways, wild! A work of art!
Full of ups and downs but never boring, Atlanta was one of a kind
Four episodes in and so far I've nodded off during every one....yawn!
This was an excellently done mini series about a disturbing true story. I think the acting was superb and believable - the very poorly designed fake beards in later episodes were embarrassing. Garfield knocks it out of the park in this.
It's a slow burn but the as the story progresses it reels you in until you can't let go.
I'll have to admit I haven't seen Garfield in much before this but his performance blew me away.
One of the things I liked the most is that in the entirety of the series there is not one single filler shot where it's like a five minute music video without progressing the story at all which is like a plague in almost all other major productions these days.
This just tells the story and what a doozy of a story it is.
Was ready to quit this after first episode but just finished the third and its starting to get better, stick with it.
That was... a snoozefest, pun intended. The concepts on paper are extremely cool and intriguing, yet somehow Netflix here have managed to make another dull adaptation once again.
I bailed after ep. 3. If you can't tell a story without constantly interrupting it with vapid flashbacks of a past life, you're not a good writer.
It started with potential, but quickly derailed into something soapy and far-fetched.
After the disappointing third season I can no longer in good conscience recommend this show. Season 2 was week an unforgettable but Season 3 was just horrible and irritating.
Dont know why this doesnt get better ratings, ive enjoyed every episode. Those who fell for this scam should be shot.
As a fan of Vikings I simple had to binge this. Set 100 years later we get introduced to the next generation of mythical figures. You don't need to have watched the original to be able to get into this story, at worst you'll miss a couple "I get that reference" smirks. What is clear from the start is that this show has been produced with a little tweak to the original. Same quality sets and world building but somewhat lighter. I'd say 20% less nudity, 20% more action and the drama needs to share the spotlight with political intrigue. Looks like they have a big budget, so we see bigger battles (like the siege of Paris in the original series) as well as the skirmishes. I think it lands somewhere between the original Vikings and The last Kingdom. If you are a fan of either I can highly recommend this season.
I was hoping I was going to like this, but I really didn't.
Maybe because I had high hopes due to the cast.
The pace is really slow, the back and forth is dull and the story failed to keep me interested. Will try and see the second and maybe third episodes to see if it improves.
season 2 is horrible by comparison. It goes all political commentary. an absolute bore.
