An indy movie and a bad one for me. The sad thing is, the movie is staged like a serious film, but it feels like an amateur production. High school level acting, bad plot, bad amateur writing and overall amateur production and direction. Only the actress playing Mrs Roberts, is decent, everyone else just... Deja actress doesn't fit into her role, she looks older than a high school student, more like in her 30s?! All the lines seemed stiff and awkward, like everyone was reading from a poorly written script. Also I didnt like the main character at all and didn't root for her which should really not happen in a movie. Therefore not happy with the ending. I wanted all the characters to die at the end :D
I enjoyed that one! An original horror movie. It is kind of rare these days and the story around the autistic kid and his family kept me entertained throughout the whole movie. Didn't heard of that movie before and it was really a nice surprise! I also felt for all the characters in this - kind of a B Movie but good/solid one.
I immediately noticed the shaky cam throughout the movie and it didn't make sense. This isn't filmed in first person mode or a found footage movie. There's really no excuse for such half assed camera work. Also I didnt like the picture quality... Often the scenes were too dark/bright. I hadn't noticed that problem with my last movies. It really screams B Movie. Had to cancel it half way.
Not my cup of tea to be honest. I couldn't stand the father abusing his family and nobody has the balls to stand against him - yes its probaby the sad truth back then in that time, but nonetheless I wanted a creepy house movie centered around a 'normal' family and not this kind of family abuse drama in a horror movie.
Movie wasn't a predictable plot, and there were constant changes throughout the story along the way to throw off the audience. The story here is well-written and well paced. Really kept me on the edge of me seat until the end. Also the genre is interesting its scifi mixed with film noir atmosphere. One of my favorite genres! The actors performed also really well. Recommended.
Nothing original and a slow burner. I personally liked it though, its a solid movie with decent acting. There's not a single second that you feel bored. From the beginning to the end it offered a creepy atmosphere.
The first half of the film it feels like you are watching a kind of teen-romance which is definately not my genre, and then it will cut back to being a solid horror movie and you see what the movie is actually meant to be about. I didn't like that aspect. The best horror flicks should concentrate on being creepy and disturbing. Relentless. Beside that... an ok movie I guess, nothing to remember about.
Cool idea and world setting. Leaves room for future sequels! Solid movie but its always a good (superhero?) movie with Charlize Theron.
I think at the moment its the best action flick that I saw on Netflix. The best thing in this are the great action scenes - they are recorderd from perspektive of the main character which is something I never saw before and it works great. Lots of gun and shootouts, its at times like watching GTA session in first person view^^ Nonstop action and good acting and plot! Recommended!
Hmm acting is ok and that is one of the pluses of this movie. On the other hand I didn't like the poor story. This movie really shouldn't have the name Paranormal activity in it. It doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the PA series at all. And most of all it doesn't create the creepy disturbing atmosphere of the first 3 PA movies. Best to avoid.
An indie movie doesn't need to be bad - but this right here feels really like the work of amateurs. During the first few minutes of the movie you can see where this is going by listening to the dominant "soundtrack" - I prefer less music, more atmosphere. But here it seems the film crew wanted to plant in every cliche soundtrack they found on their music list into to movie lol. Indeed very bad movie - had to stop watching after being half through this thing. By the way the completely lack of music works best for most frightening movies in my opinion. Look for movies like The Yu ON The Grudge - there you have it - only superb creepy atmosphere without any soundtrack at all.
This movie was just stupid... While it started out good and atmospheric and the story is somewhat new it suffers from completely unlikeable characters. I simply can't stand movies where the people make unrealistic decisions and boy this movie is a complete mess in this regard. One example (others here mentioned more) would be that a person who was chased by another person in the complete darknesss didnt turn of the stupid smartphone, so the follower had no problem seeing full bright screen and caught on - and that over multiple minutes- I mean come on?! I dont recommend this one...
What the .. did I just watched?! This is definately one of the 5 worst movies I've ever seen in my life - ok the girls look quite good and some nudity involved, but no.... just no..
Finally a mystery thriller from Germany! A solid one also!
First Anon is a sci-fi movie - something rare these days I think. Though it doenst have amazing effects and stunning action, the movie offers good actors (For the boys here: It's Amanda Seyfried!) and has a good idea that is well presented. It left me thinking after the ending which is a good thing!
Yess, the movie is definately mysterious, has action and interesting story. Best thing is, I didn't know anything about the story before I watched this and it turns out to be really good. One of the better movies I watched this year, I recommend it!
This one is one of those horror movies with a lower budget - so don't expect effects ala Ring. They just worked within their budget. With the right ambiance and sound you can still create some suspense and its definitely in this movie. Also what I liked, is that every character in this movie is actually likeable - thats really refreshing after watching the latest (hollywood) movies that are packed with flashy crazy personas. The cast here is down to earth, like it! Solid movie.
Really like the creepy and slow pace of the movie! Definately a slow burn movie. It might be a matter of taste but I really dig horror movies like these :)
Best episode so far! Learning about the past and it could bethe content for a whole standalone movie. Things are definetly speeding up, love it!
This movie was at times hilarious to watch! More like a comedy movie but really enjoyed it! One of the best Spiderman movies for me! I liked the fact that this movie doesn't take itself too seriously.
Really enjoyed this movie because it feels fresh in comparison to any film in recent memory. Maybe its because there arent' too many scifi drama movies out there, who knows. It was fun to watch, because I had absolutely no idea where the story was headed and i was constantly be surprised by the plot's twists and turns. The Cloverfield series seems to continie to be a quite refreshing and solid quality movie franchise.
It was entertaining. Especially the scene where the characters get to know each others. I also thought that the actors were doing a good job! 7/10 for mighty power rangers and nostalgic feelings - don't take this movie too serious though!
For a low budget movie this was actually quite good. Acting was above average given the budget of this movie - it also creates a nice creepy atmosphere in some scenes.
I read an article stating the title "Gun Pornography" fits best for this movie - and they were right. Holy sh.. I haven't seen that much flying bullets in a movie in a long time. There are a lot of corpses in the movie, and as a guy I loved every minute of it! Best action-movie in a long time!
This film is terrific! There's not a lot of action but action isn't everything guys! Passengers offers an awesome story line, great visuals and pretty good acting. The thing it shines the most is the script: The actions of the main characters are total believable - that's a very refreshing positive fact in the current hollywood movie scenery. It's well worth watching.
Good enough for weekend's dose of action.
Oh yes Milla is back on screen as badass Alice! Like others here I grew up with the Resident Evil franchise and videogames and I think Final Chapter was way better and more entertaining than the prequel. Everything comes to a conclusion and great action throughout the whole movie! I wanted this movie just to be a nonstop action movie, not to habe a too shabby story and it delivered :D Resident Evil fans you should watch this!
Ali Larters Comeback on screen as a former Heroes fan was also a nice addition. Overall great movie with 2 strong actresses!
I really liked the creepy atmosphere in this film: The rain on the lonely, deserted road in the woods was very melancholy.
The movie itself combined good acting and interesting story that kept me on the edge of the seat. It was a B Movie but very solid!
Wow stellar acting performance from Emily Blunt! I couldn't take my eyes of the screen and I had a great time with the shifting timelines telling a compelling story. As mentioned here in comments, it reminded me a lot of Gone Girl which is a compliment! Very solid but slow mystery thriller and I recommend it!
I agree with the people in the comments. If I hadn't seen the original movies of the franchise, it would be an okay horror flick I guess. I remember what a fresh feel the original asian "The Ring": Great acting, good story, great actors. Overall great package. This movie is a remake of the successfull franchise and.. well it failed. Some people say it was good but when you ask them if they have ever seen the original films most haven't. Especially the acting is extremely weak here, as the viewer is given no character you actually care about. A disappointment. :(
