It's lame that Jerome wasn't a regular. He made the first 3 episodes of this season.
Be warned: If you start episode 1, you will not be able to stop until the last episode. I'm not even joking, it happened to me. I was never able to fully guess where the plot was going, or who was behind it, which is rare to come by. Beautifully written show by BBC - they know how to capture intensity in situations, both full of action and not, that no other network can pull off. A great one-off show, or at least a well put together first season.
If you thought season 1 was good.. it only gets better in season 2.
That was hell of a season! As with any freaking good tv show I had to wait until the season was over to watch the entire thing but wow... Can I be more happy that I've waited so long? I feel I've waited whole 2 season just to watch this. Only a little bit sad there are so little episodes but I think it was for the better bc it was awesome. So sad it's the end. I feel fo fond of Ethan and his strugles and it was great seeing Moon Bloodgood in a freaking great role on a great show. I just after all of it feel like the whole show is just this one season really... so bummed we don't have more to watch :(
maybe they could have done something good with this. there was potential to actually send some constructive messages to the young teenagers who'll mainly be the audience. but they fucked that up completely with the last episode, which was truly awful.
Average episode rating this season: 7.22727272…
That's too low for how much I enjoyed it overall. I'm rounding up. (Also, how did I miss that I watched the last episode of the season yesterday? Better a late season rating than none at all, I guess.)
Yes, there's a large number of unspectacular episodes that surround some of the fan favourite X-Files episodes but it doesn't change the fact, at least for me, that this is an excellent opening season. Scully and Mulder are already well defined and compelling leads but when put together, the result is something of a rare and pure kind of magic. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny have a uniquely palpable onscreen chemistry that makes this season, even at its lowest points, fun to watch.
My absolute favourite episodes of the season were Squeeze, Beyond the Sea, Tooms, The Erlenmeyer Flask as well as the two opening episodes.
9.5/10 (if only trakt supported that)
By rights, I should give this season an 8 (my per-episode ratings average out to 8.41). But I enjoyed it a lot more than that. I don't feel like a 10 is completely justified, since I did have a few bones to pick with the narrative, but a 9 is a bit shy of what the show deserves.
Another great show people rated low before they actually saw it!
Late to watch this show, totally hooked as soon as I started, watched all the episodes as quickly as I could - I just had to know who the killer was!!
Gripping stuff. Instant classic as far as I'm concerned.
The shit-show that was Super Megaforce was the show that reminded me that I love Power Rangers. This was the show that made me a regular watcher again. Dino Charge is awesome. It's not perfect, and it's not particularly deep, but dammit it's fun. Each and every ranger is likeable, and the villains are pretty cool, too. This is a great starter season if Mighty Morphin is too dated for you. Yes, if you take the nostalgia goggles off, that is a thing
