I´ve seen Jurassic Park a couple times over the years and I´m always amazed how well this stands up to to later movies. This never looked old, not 10 years after, not 20 years after it was made.
Woulda been a 9/10 if Dakota Fanning stfu
An absolute classic musical! Has to be seen by all. Very cute with catchy songs and one of the funniest scenes in movie history: "You're my little chu chi face!"
Absolute train wreck of a show. Writers should take a good look at themselves!
Owens squashed by Strowman and Alexa squashed by Rousey. Pissed me off. I was okay with Corbin squashed by Demon Balor though.
Reigns as champ is crap but at Lesnar as champ is even worse. So I guess I am okay with Reigns winning.
I mean, for a b-movie that was pretty ok. Could've done with a bit more Mariko Shinoda screentime tho. :3
IF YOU THROW ANOTHER MOON AT ME I’M GONNA LOSE IT
Watching this in a totally white audience was an experience. The little titters and nudges when 'make america great again' was mentioned, or about police officers shooting unarmed black people, or even one becoming president; to the we won mentality at the final phone call.
Then the deathly silence with the current footage being shown. I think quite a few people realised it's not just references.
These people still exist today.
They still have their rallies.
They still have their marches.
They still murder in uniform.
And they still hold these abhorrent views.
I think I even heard some people sniff away some tears right at the end once they saw the footage and heard the words of people who were there.
Enjoy the film; enjoy the jokes (it is a funny film) but make no doubt the characters shown still exist.
If there was a bit more character development, Rogue One would be one of the greatest films of the year. Either way, it was easily one of the best Star Wars films, and it got that way through likable characters, spectacular cinematograpy and a great final act.
Oh, and the Vader scene.
Impressive. Maybe a bit too much like a Shyamalan movie, but this had better delivery, which is saying a great deal, and is still very original. Its previews did not do it justice. The movie seems as if it doesn't feel obligated to shock or impress you, but rather draw you in to the story, invest you in the characters, then turn on the afterburners. With an epic final few seconds. In other words, a smart, emotional, well-done movie that ranks as one of the best, in at least the past few years.
Well... I'll just say that Paul Rudd surely knows how to channel his inner Michelle Pfeiffer.
Just got back from the new Jumanji movie, and I had a lot of fun. All of the characters were great and they had fantastic chemistry together. I loved the Rock and Kevin Hart (back from Central Intelligence), but Jack Black really stood out with the funniest and most eccentric performance by far. The setup for the movie was solid (albeit a bit simple), and it served its purpose in giving us funny scenarios for the characters. This is definitely a fun movie to watch and just enjoy for some laughs and action especially if you haven't seen the trailer (the trailer spoils a few of the funny scenes). 7/10.
The Marvel Universe becomes transcendental. It doesn't veer far from the Marvel formula but it is hugely entertaining and Cumberbatch is terrific, as usual.
Strangely, there are echoes of some of the lesser superhero movies within. Green Lantern, Elektra and 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer share similarities. Obviously, Doctor Strange is better than all of them and takes the superhero genre into a new, fantastical realm.
My head is literally in pain from this film...I'm left feeling empty. If you asked me what I just witnessed in these past 2 hours, I honestly couldn't describe what took place. The entire thing felt like a bunch of messy jump-cut, foggy action sequences stacked up on top of eachother with NO character substance or plot to hold it together. The writing was terrible and insanely cliche, there was no depth, and absolutley nothing to be taken from watching this. Oh and in addition - the use of that soundtrack - terrible, sad such a good song like Heathens is even a part of the franchise. Wish they had spent more money building the storyline and chracters (WHO HAD PROMISE WITH THE RIGHT WRITING) than promoting the shell it became...
This is a horror movie.
There is no other movie quite so spectacular, bombastic, unpredictable and morally interesting.
There's a reason that Sy Fy Channel comes up with 35 giant animal movies a year. They are fun. Here's one with good effects, A List talent and a budget. Don't expect smarter...expect bigger! Chicago takes a beating in this movie...so that's a bonus! Sit back, turn brain into "off" position and enjoy the ride. Certainly lived up to expectations...just didn't exceed them. 7/10
okay, let me get this straight: It's not the best movie ever. It's no LotR 2.
But: When the Movie starts and you just watch the first scene, you are IN the movie. Totally! Storytelling, smart pacing and a genius Ian McKellen. Also Martin Freeman as Bilbo is just lovley.
I watched the movie as a normal movie. no 480p and no 3d and i missed nothin.
Great Actors, great movie.
9/10
At first I thought the film was politically insensitive. But then it became something entirely different and the comedy leads into horror. What if Hitler did come back? Would people still follow him? Some of the film was filmed with real members of the public and the reactions 'Hitler' provokes range from bemusement, hostility and terrifyingly agreement! The filmmakers lull the viewer in and then hit us with a punch to the gut. Remarkable.
It was predicted the world would end in 2012. So Roland Emmerich tried to relax people worried about that. The film has a happy ending. The richest and most important people survive on a big ship when Earth is pretty much Waterworld now.
So anyone worried about 2012 at the time could at least think "I'll die violently but at least Trump will make it."
One of the rare "Based on a true story" movies that is actually quite accurate in it's depiction. I was worried that it might "Hollywood" up the story to gain more widespread appeal but it didn't.
If you have seen Citizen Four then the general idea of the movie will be familiar, however it runs Godfather 2 style flashbacks to give more details about how everything came to be and a more personal look into Snowden's life. Which was the only thing I missed from Citizen Four, so I'm glad they chose this was to tell the story.
Acting is fantastic all around and Joseph Gordon-Levitt absolutely nailed his role. I also liked that they didn't try to over-villainise anyone (except for one occasion that was a bit over the top) and more focused on that it was just a system that was out of control, with people just "following orders".
One of the very best SciFi movies I've seen, and despite being 17 years old it does not look dated.
HOLY. SHIT. LOVE THIS MOVIE. I went into this thing knowing only that it was by "the Hell or High Water guy" and that it was in the 80s on RT. That's it. 10 minutes in I leaned over to my friend and said, "This movie is AWESOME." And guess what? It stayed that way the entire running time. It could have kept on going and going and going. Jeremy Renner, best role. Elizabeth Olsen, fucking spectacular. Hmm, maybe I should rewatch Hurt Locker to say best role, but lemme tell ya they all crush crush crush it. See! This! Movie!!
Wow the Russos actually did it. I can't believe this movie works as well as it does. The movie just breezed by, there is so much going on and it is paced so well. The action is great and the stakes are real. Thanos's plan is a dumb one but they do make him a well rounded character and he is one of the few villains to actually pull it off. There is a ton of humor but it also manages to be really emotional at times. It is going to be a long year but at least we get to see Captain Marvel in between.
EDIT: After seeing it again it still is amazing how well everything works. This is probably the darkest MCU movie so far but still is fun and has a ton of one liners. The humor is still fantastic and on GotG level. I just realized that it is the original Avengers team that is left to start Avengers 4. I expect most everyone that turned to ash to come back but not without sacrificing the original team.
Should've been a lesbian romance.
It has a lot of unknown oil terms and happenings on the rig that the viewer cannot comprehend. A lot of explosions but i didn't feel the tense throughout the last half hour. The role of BP was greatly undermined.
Such an incredibly intense and heartbreaking movie. It had me cringing, tearing up and kept me on the edge of my seat.
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE MOVIE
Very adult themes and definitely not for everyone. Excellent acting, direction and script. The nonverbal communication in this film is heavy, exquisite and on point. Michael Fassbender is wonderful and so is Carey Mulligan as per usual. It is so sad. I barely have words for it. Everything is urgent and precarious all the time. The characters make you wonder what their back story is, what drives them, what propels them in to shameful acts and acute sadness. It is deeply saddening that there are people that we know and love that have to endure this level of pain and find no solace in the ones who love them. I would say that it is worth a watch. This movie examines very adult themes and is not for everyone. It is very RAW and honest in its voyeuristic approach having us share in the shame by our limited point of view. Again excellent direction. The dynamic between siblings is tenuous and a little disturbing to say the least. Definitely worth at least one watch if you are up for it and very open-minded.
Perfect and amazing movie to watch
