There are essentially two movies at play here - one unfolding in real time and one that happened twenty years ago but it still being felt in present time. Sometimes I think movies that slowly reveal something that happened in the past get a little more credit than they deserve as there is some low-hanging intrigue for the audience. That said, the story is pretty good and the acting is excellent. I think maybe more could have been done to explore how the events of the past affected the characters in the present.

One of my absolute favorite shows ever. I will never ever get tired of watching ❤️
This was way cooler when I watched this as a teenager. While the earlier episodes are still really good some of the later ones are downright ridicolous.
Bronson vs a naked killer is vastly more entertaining than it has any right being. Glorious 80s trash.
I love this movie. Charles Bronson is once in a lifetime talent and I think he is at peak asshole Bronson in this one. He is such a prick to his partner and everyone else. "I'll give you a hint...it's you." Hahahah love that guy! Also the killer and all his stuff is crazy. Naked killing and some sort of device in his bedroom. Crazy!
"No comment here, no comment at all. We only wanted to introduce you to one of our very special citizens, little Stephanie, who lives in a house all alone. And if by some strange chance you should run across her, you had best think only good thoughts. Anything less than that is handled at your own risk, because if you do meet Stephanie, you can be sure of one thing: you have entered The Twilight Zone."
This movie is your classic slow-burning character-driven drama. The first half of the film sets the stage for the wave of unresolved issues that need to be resolved (maybe?) in the second half of the film. While the movie is slow to unfold at no point is it ever boring. That said, the movie does turn it up a couple of notches in the last 30 minutes and ends with a fantastic and thoughtful scene at the end that summarizes the main question of the movie: the past.

Watched Christopher Lee for years,he finally got the meaningful role he was meant for.
I agree about the last part. The rest wasn't that scary.
Starts off a good time and then....the....skeletons.....appear....and they.....take up.....1/3 of the film......juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust moving an inch or two. So close to skipping forward during a few "lets scream bloody murder at these snail skeletons that will kill us by Tuesday" scenes.
Fantastic piece of psychological horror of the beginning of cinema!
The atmosphere of the film is perfect and all of the things together, the shadows, the light, the painted scenarios, many objects distorced with irregular shapes, the make up, the acting, all helped to create a bizarre and creepy world.
It's incredible to see how things like this, with this great originality could be made in that era.
