I am an huge fan of F1, I follow it since I am 2years old with my dad...
This show is nice, as it give you some inside that you don't see on race day, some more personality trait of team manager and drivers, or some background story that happened during the season.
But it's not for me, it's SO MUCH overly dramatic and everything is lines up to tell a story that is not exactly correct.
All the effort are put in the drama, there is near nothing about racing.
I love F1, so I watched it, but it's really a pain to watch
It's a great season, but not like season 1 at all. Season one was very mysterious, well written, and the plot was believable (like not real, but the story was believable, the actor action and consequences...)
This season is great, visual are nice the filming and story is interesting and the joke are cool. But I keep getting taken out of the show by overly unbelievable thing. Not just on monster side, story plot hole, but also by characters which were much more human in the first one.
Also it's not mysterious as the first season was, it feel like a nice mix of some past ideas that worked.
now don't get me wrong, the season is great, I just can't say is as good as the first.
Well, I kind of liked generally this episode because Burnam was much less on the screen, the visual are really nice, there is action, and less cringy scene (but still some) than the previous.
But honestly, the ending plot is really unimpressive, so obvious, and so flat. Nothing really happen at all.
Control that as reach so much power, knowledge and consciousness, is SO DUMB and 'die' in such a stupid way. I am impressed by how stupid the AI strategy was. When Leeland died, I really felt like "wow this is it? really ?".
Also, I don't know how strong are ships in Star Trek, but I am pretty sure that 2 sciences ships (Discovery and Enterprise are not battle ship right?) against 10+ section 31 ships that are made for combat + a lot of kamikaze drones... well, those 2 ships shield shouldn't last 1 hours+ and still be at over 30%.
And finally, Control is an AI, so it's literally everywhere. It kind of took control of Leeland with 'nanobot' but Control is not depended on Leeland to survive, Leeland is just part of control. I don't see how the show considered that Control is only Leeland, and without him the other ship can't be controlled (I remember they say that at some point). Also, while Leeland is on Discovery (with the stupidest reaction that stupid human would follow), how is it possible that the other ships with 10+ ships can't scan Burnam and target her. instead she just fly away in the most indiscreet way and be completely safe.
Anyway, the show ended, it was a decent time filler, but yes, I am not that moved by this Star Trek. I would resume this last episode as some kind of Star Wars TheForce Awaken, everybody knew the plot, nothing impressive happens, but the visual are good.
Jordy comment is exactly right.
For the first part, I was really thinking this was a parody movie. I was expecting something original coming out of it, either as "yeah this Matrix 4 is a pure joke" or something deeper and well thought.
But no, nothing new came out from there. it became an EXACT copy of 1/2/3 but packed in a single movie. From part 2 onwards, you will just be like "wow I remember this scene from Matrix 1/2/3". I think it was intended at being more like nostalgia stuff than anything new really, some dialogs are actually telling you reality :x
Also, my main complaint is, while 1/2/3 were a full circle and left us with a lot of open questions which was up to us to think about and imagine, This 4 fills everything, but in a disappointing way. Leaving a lot of gaps or turning the plot to facilitate the story without really explain where it matters, but explaining a lot where no one care.
I always rate good so 7, but far from amazing
I am not a big star trek fan, I barely know the old one. This show has been globally a good show for me to watch on the train while commuting. It has flow, it has good point but overall it is an enjoyable show with nice visual and a messy story but that is not worst than most of others shows.
But this episode was a pain to watch. It is full of goodbye that doesn't work, doesn't impact anybody emotionally because the fact that they are written in a very cliché way and that we also all know that none of what they say will happen.
So the episode just end up being a top 10 of the most cliché goodbyes ever seen in movies. and to be honest, it pointless to watch.
Also, I was starting to be annoyed about Burnam recently, being overly powered in all the show.
But I am definitely done now. The character stand out way to much compare to any other. The show should have been name Star Trek Burnam, not Discovery. This character really became unlikable over the episodes because she is to strong in everything, she do whatever she want she is like an entity alone way above Star fleet and all the "captains".
This episode made it even worst because you get +10min (that I ended up skipping) about the crew explaining how Burnam is amazing and will be missed and she is the best blabla. This is to much, this character has been so overly pushed that it became totally unlikable and unbearable. I enjoy MUCH more the scenes where Burnam is not there.
Anyway probably the worst episode of the season, nothing happen, only pointless talks.
yes, the description is definitely wrong, should have been something like "In a city were Pokemon and Human live together, a newly citizen and is recently met partner will need to works as partners to investigate a mysterious substance that may break the city balance". has there are no fight as we know them,, no trainers...
this movie is really wierd. I don't exactly know if I liked it or not.
On one side, you have the Pokemons, they are so well made, so well designed, their "acting" and behaviour couldn't have been done better. from this point of view, this movie is awesome. So many movies (hello Sonic) have failed in reproducing fictional character but this one is one spot. And wow, Mewtwo is incredible.
On the other side, the story, the jokes, the action etc, the movie itself, is so light, so unsurprising, already been seen 10 000 times in other movies, nothing is special.
The movie it's really made for the people that grew up playing Pokemon, and only those "niche" of people that was imagining a world with Pokemons.
So this movie is a must seen for Pokemon fan, cause the Pokemon are awesomly made, but if you don't really like Pokemons, never played the game and or generally don't care, than this movie is the most boring movie you will see and you will not understand most of the references.
Special kudos for the scene with Mr Mime, that one was really original and amusing.
honestly, 9/10 because the story is generic. but a part from the story, this movie is awesome !
The visual are incredible, makes you want to pause every frame to admire all the details.
The soundtrack is fresh (in my opinion it worked very nicely with the vibe of the movie)
The reference are all over the place, and the jokes are on point.
I loved all those different version of spiders, it was really funny, just wished they aren't more into every single one of them, they just brushed lightly all of their potential.
globally, this movie is a blast to watch, and I don't, even like super heroes movie that much.
