What the fuck was even the point of this movie

@adafeloz The point was , that if US has a cyber attack it definitely would be done iran and russia and nothing to do with CIA/deep state or whatever you want to call it. i.e. predictive programming for people who dont have their mental faculties under control.

it's called nuance, some people are incapable of grasping it.

@adafeloz the social commentary went right over your head. Do you even read the news? Are you on social media?

@adafeloz Sorry you didn't like it! It's an interesting look at the destabilisation of a country after a, worryingly plausible, large scale cyberattack. The movie critiques our over reliance on digital conveniences, and champions older, more analogue technologies as a more reliable, persistent alternative. It also critiques our inability to trust our fellow man due to the digital echo chambers we've built ourselves, and the prejudices these spaces create within us without ever meeting the people it warns us about. Additionally, it shows the younger generations, unheard and toothless (heh) in their protests to be heard by the elders, resorting to over consumption of material things and media to escape and block out the incoming end of the world. Hope you can give it another try, I truly loved this one and think it's quite poignant given the times. It might even be seen as prophetic if we're on the cusp of a similar, real world cyberattack like this.
Review by Chandramohan Kannan
Ah shucks! One more revisit to a tale that has been told and retold a zillion times... a bastard son becomes a reluctant king trying to bring together broken factions, falls in love and learns that his queen betrays him to his friend... so sleeps with his sister, and sires another bastard son who is destined to kill him... in all this he is supported by a person called Merlin, who can be a Mentor, Friend, Philosopher, Guide, General, Magical Wizard, depending on the whim of the person retelling the story... lets hope this rehash, doesn't suck and the network gives it some semblance of an ending, instead of unceremoniously cancelling it like all the other versions.

The adaptation is pretty decent, and as the season progresses, it gets better with every episode... but there is still so many moving parts, which I guess gets covered in Bernard Cornwell's book, which is regarded by many as one of the superior adaptations of the Arthurian Legends, in the recent times... that said, so far, the choices made by the makers have been refreshing, interesting and smart... which brings me back to the same issue I mentioned in my original post... I hope this gets a complete run, where the makers get a chance to tell the story in full, and the networks associated don't cancel it midway.

@chandramohan-kannan In Theory providing they retell the Bernard Cornwell’s Warlord Chronicles verbatim It could be potentially very good. my concern with these modern adaptions is that many many times they make unnecessary changes because the writer or writers that adapt these shows want to put their own "mark" on the show, or they need to "dumb" it down for the modern audience. I wont even begin to think about the role reversals and race changes that are bound to be included, But as this show was instigated by ITVX who optioned all 3 books and then given to Sony's Bad Wolf production I am quietly optimistic for a semi decent show, I'm just hoping that the actors and actresses are covered in dirt and grime as fitting the century, rather than looking like they just stepped out of a shower
My god this is a bad show!!!!
Managed to get 35mins into the first episode and that was it for me…..
It’s like some bad melodramatic soap opera!!!!!
If your a brain dead teenager your probably will love it, but as a fully grown adult that wants a minimum level of entertainment, your find this to be nothing but trash…..loading replies
@cuddlelover Well, when everything else is trash and you'r sick at home it sort of works..... as you don't really care if you slept thru half the episode. :)
Season 1 was a sheet of used toilet paper…
Season 2 was a whole roll of used toilet paper…Season 3 a pure golden nugget, made for the true fans, filled with memories and fan service of the right kind…..

@cuddlelover I agree. Terry treated the original cast with the love and respect they should have been given all along. It's a perfect goodbye to the crew we grew up loving.
I found this to be totally entertaining and hopefully there will be more seasons to come….
I have watched the Dutch, Australian, uk and now the American versions, each new interpretation gets better and obviously more fine tuned.
If I had to pick my favourite version it will have to be the uk one, it could have so easily have been the American version, but the two things that stop that are as follows…..1) basically copied 99.9% of the uk version, which is a shame as they could have altered/changed at least half the games.
2) having “ celebrity reality stars” as part of the contestants, they play up for the cameras are not that bothered about the prize money.
Luckily being a British I had basically never heard of any of them, but you could see they just wanted all the attention….So next season go all normal people and introduce a few more different games and you could become my :pound_symbol:1 traitor show!!!!
Oh and even do a all celebrity special once a year, possibly for charity…..loading replies
@cuddlelover the ending of the UK one lets it down. Stupid last minute rule changes and a utterly rigged ending.
