As a LOTR fan for the past 20 or so years, this show definitely satisfies my cravings for more Middle Earth. Seeing Khazad-dûm in all its glory was fantastic. The orc fight was terrifying (albeit predictable), and the orc itself looked as menacing as ever (which makes me anticipate any big fight scenes coming and all the horror we'll get to see). The show gives nods to the Peter Jackson movies without overdoing it, through similarity in characters and world building, which I enjoy. It's definitely its own show but it respects its predecessor. Is the show perfect? Definitely not. But I'm certainly enjoying it so far, even with the imperfections.
Dare I say… best episode of Loki yet? Definitely the best this season. Everything about it was PERFECT.
Sorry but f:asterisk_symbol:ck that bunny doll, you don’t go back for that shit if this is happening in real life.
Too many diehards giving their "critical" review after being butthurt it doesn't exactly match their expectations. Take their reviews with a grain of salt.
If you go into the show and just ENJOY it for everything it offers, then you will not be disappointed. I've already fallen in love with the characters and the amazing scenery. The acting is on par and the budget is as expected for Amazon!
The only complaint I have is that the orc seemed a bit OP, like fr they didn't seem that strong from the movies, but I digress. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed so far and can't wait to see where it goes!
It is as if the dumb kid copying the exam of the smart kid and doing it poorly. It lacks everything good the original had.
Damn. Fury is deep in that Skrussy.
I guess the bending looks better than the movie… but that’s as much good as I can say about this. Let Avatar be the ultimate example of why animation should be a respected form of media and that not every animation needs a live action.
Halfway through the movie I was already blinking like detective Loki.
I don't know, the show is still decent but we continue to just rush through areas / locations way too quickly, I don't feel like there is any danger or threat as they just deal with everything so quickly. I think every episode so far would've benefited by being 10 mins longer
So did they just retcon this X-5 guy into existence or something? Seems like everybody knows him already.
Just as unapologetically sentimental and sweet as I remembered, I’m so so glad this show is back.
Standard reaction after each episode: WTF is happening?!?!?!?!
I've been saying it since Season 1, Rebecca needs a therapist, not a freaking psychic nor a baby.
Umm… what the fuck was that?!
not bad but not brilliant either. tonally i don't think it works that well and there's no one to really root for.
Did anyone else find this episode a let down compared to the previous. Hmmmm It kinda felt dull. hmmm
Jujutsu Kaisen is your typical cookie cutter shounen anime, your tropes are all present here. The character designs are cool and all but you won't really get an attachment to them. Characters die way too fast before you even have some sort of emotional connection to them, the battles are mindless and features lots of asspulls. The storytelling is whack, it's all over the place without any sense of direction at all. The power gap also isn't fun, characters just get stronger and stronger without any good reason, there's just no build up for everything on this anime, everything comes in a whim.
Couldn't even get through half of it. It's the same dumb recipe as Jurassic World and other blockbusters like it. Easy to follow and predictable story, boring/annoying characters and poor attempts at comedy.
Wish we could get a monster movie that doesn't feel like it's on the intellectual level of a 10 year old.
What an episode. The car scene reveal is the moment all we have been waiting for since the beginning of the show. This shot closing in on Dorothy finding out that she was responsible for Jericho's death as she’s realizing, absolute perfection. It was definitely worth the wait and Lauren Ambrose gives a stellar performance.
And the continuous shot of Dorothy's face as Sean and Leanne are begging her to take their side! I hope that now that Dorothy finally knows the whole truth and has remembered what happened with Jericho, she'll be able to say "No" to Leanne and get rid of her once and for all.
I can’t wait until next week.
This episode started out okay, almost promising, but towards the end became comically bad. The scene in the church was like something out of a horror parody movie. I have not read the original Lovecraft story, but I doubt this does it any justice.
A completely different take on possession. Avoiding all the stupid cliches from American movies, director Demián Rugna takes a gruesome, intelligent, and shocking route that makes the movie one of the most original horror films I've watched in a long time. The third act slows things a little more than I would wanted, but the end leaves you satisfied and devastated.
Without a doubt, this IS the movie you should watch in October 2023 instead of the megahyped Exorcist secuel.
This seems a mixture of Lost + Wayward pines, enjoyed it a lot
The whole Gene Cousineu bit didn't work for me at all. Took me out of most of the episode. Sally was bearable in this one, for once.
if it wasn't for NoHo Hank, i'd be out
We're almost at the halfway point of the final season and we haven't had a single real conversation between Dorothy and Julian. Or him and Sean for that matter. It’s just Leanne taking up screentime episode after episode to awkwardly monologue her way through it. She was very cringe this episode. They need to start focusing less on Leanne and give more of the other 3 again.
Leanne: "The costumes belong to Dorothy's [dead] mother, they're not for you to touch." 5 minutes later, she gives them to the homeless to wear during Halloween.
I wonder if Dorothy is ever going to remember the real Jericho? I really hope this series doesn't end in a cliffhagger.
"I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to get rid of Leanne." - Sean finally coming to a realization that Leanne Grayson is bad. It’s about damn time! Hopefully things in this season are definitely going to take a turn next episode.
One thing has been consistent though, the cinematography has been great, in my opinion.
Really interesting episode.
George had me till the end, his story was pretty convincing at first lol. Everything he said was too good to be true and I almost believed it up until last scene. But how much of it was lies? Leanne does have powers and George is willing to sacrifice the family to bring her back to the cult.
Many questions that I hope will be answered before the series finale.
This episode had my mind ping-ponging between feelings of WHAT THE FUCK and FUCK YEAH.
The Raven-Fuches transformation is the funniest shit Barry's done in a while. The scene with Sally and the hooded guy is the scariest Barry's ever been since the panther mauling in S3. And naming Hank's company Nohobal is probably the most homophobic thing I've seen on TV.
