props to my boy Dylan G for holding that position for what seemed like an eternity!
I f*king cried, Luke at the end & R2 ?! best episode ever. This even tops the sequel triolgy for me. You know, this even makes 2020 a good year. 10/10
I thought I knew what was going on before the credits, but after the credits, no fucking clue.
Did anybody see that fly? I mean, that was intentional? looks suspicious...
Maybe it’s going to be an issue in the next episode, but Mando left his jet pack on the hillside, and never retrieved it. If he had, he would have been able to get to Grogu in time.
No joke, this single episode is the best Star Wars I've seen since the throne room sequence in Return of the Jedi. I can't think of anything else that comes close except maybe the ending of Rogue One.
I see many people here complaining that the message of this episode was blatantly obvious and simple, but I don't really think that is the point of the episode.
In my interpretation, this episode was mainly here to tell a story of a tragic character that does immoral things out of desperation whilst also showing glimpses of humanity in his actions, which in no way justify his actions. Similarly, they try to humanise each and every side of this story. Even the big CEO of the company that arguably does a lot of social evil has his big humanising moment, where he admits that it all spun out of control, and I think we can all relate to that.
There is no evil character. It is all a complex web that creates evil, and the point, as I see it, was not to bash into the heads of people to not text and drive, or to stop using social media, but simply to tell a story. A story that utilises the all-consuming technology in our society, and I think it does that job fantastically. It is suspenseful, layered, and incredibly moving.
Just give Dave Filoni free reign to write/produce whatever show or movie in the SW universe he wants. Mans a fucking genius.
I don't see why many are still confused and hate the timeline. Yeah it's all mixed but it's intentional and the bigger picture is worth it when all the perspectives are shown in the end. You don't have to be a Sherlock to understand this show wtf
Now we don't need to have a black screen saying present and past or X days/years later now do we?
I.F.T. - after watching the episode, I now know what this means. LOL.
what a fucking powerful ending, reading the comments here made ask myself if we watched the same show cuz is impossible to expect another ending. I guess all this alt-righty racism and american fear of black comunism says a lot about the fascism that is rising again nowadays
this ending is a hell of a political statement!
y'all can kiss my communist ass
"How does it feel to be in a womans body?" Idk dude, just pick her yourself next round
There was only one thing that was missing from the ending - Mando giving Grogu that metal ball he loves.
Wow. I love how everybody is like "I can't help you" until Din says "they took the child" and they do a 180.
I am so confused I can't even tell if there was a plot twist it not
Amazing. Until now, this is my favourite episode of The Office.
Sam Esmail beautifully finished it. <3 Goodbye, friend. I love you.
Holy moly. This has to be the best episode of TV since Breaking Bad went off the air. The raw intensity, the power, the incredible performance by the cast had me riveted. The psychological dialogue between doctor and patient exceeded anything the Sopranos ever tried. Vera's wordy monologues and Elliot's stoicism built a fire that burned hot and bright. Then like a light it was gone.
Great show. We are so lucky to bear witness.
Omg for a moment there I did believe Smith when he said the A bomb went off. So this means Joe’s dad is very evil?
So Joe thinks Juliana is dead? How? Who told him that? And then Frank thinks she ran off with Joe?? Even tho he boarded a ship to México and Juliana went to the nazi embassy to ask for asylum? Both are very stupid men.
And Helen is kinda rigid, getting mad with Lucy for gossiping about Hitler when Lucy is married to like the second most powerful man in the american reich, so it’s not like she’s oblivious to it.
Oh, I guess we can presume Tagomi 2.0 committed suicide? And that’s why the family thinks he abandoned them. I’n glad he’s there with them and also it’s cool he gets to see a fulfilled and happy Juliana.
Oh wow. Maybe the better version of ourselves lives in another reality?
Omg I glad we get to meet the man in the high castle! After last episode I thought it was hitler.
But I feel while Juliana moves forward with the story, Frank stays at the same place, his story and character development are stuck, and I’m kinda bored with him.
If you think about it for a couple of seconds this show is so damn sad, like Trudy, Karen, the men in the boat :( Ed :( part of me likes that this show doesn’t let you be sad cause it moves on quickly but if when you take a second to think about it, it’s so damn sad.
And oh wow, I thought the trade minister was staying in the other reality! I would do that and explore a little bit, but we don’t know if the other reality was just a vision he had or an actual physical place.
I was scared for Terror!!!! All episode I was worried something bad was going to happen to him!!!
It was cool seeing more of Black Noir but I hate that he’s just a vought killing machine, the first personal scene we saw from him was when he found out about compound V and it actually affected him, so why would he follow blindly mr edgar’s orders? I thought he was gonna try to talk with Butcher to see what was going on so sadly I feel his character is being wasted.
Also I hate that Maeve is such a coward! I’m pretty sure she’s strong enough to hold herself against Homelander especially with Annie’s help!
Also I’m starting to suspect that mr edgar has no clue about Stormfront’s true persona cause she’s super racist so I don’t think she would be working with him.
That moment when Scott had to face those school kids was the most cringe-worthy scene for me
Where is the 11th heart for this episode?
I was so tense when the x-wing appeared and I was holding my breath for the whole fight. When he pulls of the hood I couldn't help but crying.
Even if the show would stop right there I would be very happy. But I am also very eager to see what comes next.
It's going to be a long year.
That scene at the table with the imperial guy is a classic Templar vs Assassin discussion and I loved it
Love that they made him fight without his helmet, suit and utility belt. Showing us that he’s not just Batman. Mando is Superman with a Batman suit.
They also made Mando remove his helmet. The child truly means more to him than Moff Gideon will ever know.
The Mandalorian: "Fett?"
Boba Fett: "Let's just say they might recognise my face."
I burst out laughing. Now that's a reference I can get behind!
It was nice to see Mayfeld again; he's such a charming character. And I was surprised to see Mando go through another character arc. In Season One, he had to get over his prejudice/hate of droids but that all changed when IG-11 proved to him that droids aren't all that bad. In this episode, it took Mayfeld to convince Mando (as well as quite a few others throughout both seasons) to finally let others see his face. I think it really sunk in when he met Bo Katan and her crew, but after losing the kid, he really was desperate. And it was as he said:
The Mandalorian: "He means more to me than you will ever know."
Again, fantastic writing. The twisting of these words, thrown back at Gideon is so menacing and satisfying.
TECHNICAL SCORE: 7/10
ENJOYMENT SCORE: 8/10
No God, please no! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Michael's speech at the end
