My Score 8.
One of weirdest movies I've watched lately. Excellent acting, Very good story, and less you know about the plot beforehand the better. Only reason I gave it a 8 is because it is rather slow paced, but still I very much enjoyed watching it.
AWESOME!!! Just watch it. You won't be disappointed. Great characters, interesting plot and good pace. Both thumbs up.
Rather enjoyed watching it. Good acting, interesting script. I recommend to watch the movie.
This is the movie that everyone should watch. One of those diamonds in the rough.
I don't know why, although the plot is not the same, that movie looked to me like an adaptation of "The Fall of the House of Usher"... Weird...
The worst thing in an "Adam Sandler movie" is the Adam Sandler.
This movie is just an extended trailer for the next one,
although not certain that there will be next one since nothing happened in this one.
Felt like first 15 minutes of the some TV pilot.
Very interesting premise, but they forgot to put any meaning in it.
We finally have answer to the question:
How it would look, if a production that looks like a high school theater group had a 100M$ budget? ... and it does not look good.
Actually, I believe a real high school theater would do a better job.
Why is Mila Kunis playing in a Melissa McCarthy movie instead of a Melissa McCarthy?
Don't watch it or you will die......of boredom,
Surprisingly not bad. Better than the first one.
There is only one thing that really bugs me in this movie:
Why was he living in such a bad neighborhood if he had the money, and if he hadn't, then how could he afford hospital bills, car, training lessons, equipment and a year away from work to prepare.
Someone wrote a rather good script a video game,
it was intended as cut-scenes between playing the game.
Unfortunately, at one point it was changed to be a movie script.
Because of this, we are left with movie that is empty of soul.
Main characters are one-sided with just enough quirky so you think they are interested,
the action looks like going through a game level.
all the extras act as NPCs, and side characters look like quest givers.
Actually the whole movie seems like its only job is to get us to the end of the movie.
Other than this film crew did a good job.
Not the greatest zombie movie, but good enough to watch. I was actually more interested in TV clips that followed the main story.....
Did not like it.
I guess it will go well with star stricken audience that watches movies just because a movie star that they like is in it.
For me it is a bad movie.
Bad characters (after watching the movie ask yourself what did you actually learn about lead characters.
Not two rows worth of character development and also almost no interaction between them).
Bad heist plot (multiple plot holes and inconsistencies:
SPOILERS they drag Ann to toilet so they can steal the necklace and then act that they found it somewhere else because it slipped although it was pointed out that it can not slip since you need magnetic key to remove it, or at least wouldn't it be easier just to give her the fake necklace in the toilet saying that it fell.
Also later they drove off with the rest of the diamonds while the place was in lockdown by "best security team in the world" that just accepts "oh, look what i found in the pool" explanation...
Not to mention the movie is caled Ocean's Eight but there were seven women in a group which made Ann Hathaway's reveal at the end not so much of a shock, more of a meh.
There are many more plot holes but it would take longer to read them than to watch this movie.
About SJW in the movie
they managed to cover all "the colors of Benetton", Also it is marketed as a movie about an "All women's heist team",
but in the end they have a male in a team, but I guess he doesn't count and doesn't deserve an equal part of the loot.
Constance swiped one necklace and gets 38 million, but the guy that collected all the rest gets a tap on the shoulder, and no credit.
There is a reason why this was dropped even by Disney Star Wars.
The whole movie is a meh. I could sleep through segments of it, and it wouldn't affect the story one bit.
Sadly, got through it all wide awake.
About at half of the movie, I started to force myself to power through to the end,
but not one unpredictable thing happened during the entire runtime.
The real problem begins when you try to deconstruct it scene by scene.
If you begin finding all that is wrong with it, you cannot stop, and it takes a review longer that the script of the movie...
From bad script (felt like patchwork), stiff dialog, lousy characters, bad acting, bad accents, predictable tropes and stereotypes,
to the terrible by-the-book directing with fight slow-mos and quick cuts.
The CGI ranges from OK to terrible, but even practical effects are bad and look cheap, not to mention the costumes that look so anachronistic and out of touch.
If you have free time to spend, dont watch this, instead watch again the original source movies.
Bottom line, and the biggest problem with this movie is that there was nothing good that caught my eye.
It is one of those movies that you watch maybe once and never again.
This is a bad movie (3). Predictable plot (bad script). Non-existent dialog (also bad script). Half-assed acting (bad acting and directing).
Only thing that it has up his sleeve is its 150 million dollar budget that paid for good CGI and lightning. It is another Hollywood factory blockbuster. Mostly flash without any bang.
It is amazing how untalented Adam Sandler is as an actor. I knew from his past movies not to expect to much from him, but he managed to hit the new low in this one.
Movie itself was so-so. Not good, but meh.
Barely watchable at 4x speed.
Interesting movie for children under 13. For the rest it is a kids movie, slightly better than "Spy Kids".
My score: 2 - Terrible
Cheap plot, slow tempo, no thrills or goosebumps whatsoever...
Kids did good job, although too much rapping in horror movie for my taste...
Not to mention that found footage movies are no more innovative directing as they were in the beginning of that wave,
now it is a crutch for bad script and lousy director...
More and more I am convinced that Shyamalan was one-time wonder...
Time to put him to greener pastures...
I think this movie is the breaking point, from now on we should consider Melissa McCarthy as female equivalent of Adam Sandler.
Not really sure if this movie should constitute as a comedy. But then again, i am not really sure if it should constitute as a movie either.
It looks more than anything as the biggest waste of my time in this century.
OMG! Such bad, bad acting.. Keanu Reeves was never a great actor, but this performance deserves Golden Raspberry for lifetime achievement...
I still don`t understand how can this movie be so boring with so many great actors in it, but it is. So boring.
Movie has good poster at least, so if you are into watching movies with good posters, this is the one for you.
For all others I recommend it as waste of time.
You know those movies that are so bad that in the end are kinda good. This is not one of those movies. I have seen better scripts in amateur improv classes. For whom is this movie made, I don't know. It certainly is not sexy teen comedy (which you would assume from the title) since its almost PG rated and not funny at all. Only thing more puzzling than reasons for making this movie is what is Morgan Fairchild doing in it. Did she went on power walk around the house and stumbled on a movie set.
Don't waste your time on this, just don't. If you have free time just go and look at the wall for 90 minutes, it will be more interesting.
I can not believe that someone was paid to write this script. A monkey with a typewriter could write a better one. Terrible. Just a terrible movie. Don't waste your time watching it.
