Madame Web

Not that bad! It was decent, of course there was tons of product placement, the fact that the villain is dubbed was hilarious, the jungle people were campy, but overall I enjoyed it more than let's say The Marvels. Of course the main characters are not superheroes yet so that is a let down, but it was a fun little origin movie if you don't take it seriously, I wouldn't even mind watching a sequel

Children of the Corn

Ok the acting was bad, but the worst was the plot holes.
First of all, why would the children let Bo live when she's so clearly against them? And then, why would they even listen to her or let her speak to the adults (in the scene with her dad for example, who clearly tells her to fight them when they are right next to them). Extremely stupid.
Another stupid example: when the children bury the adults alive, the adults could have made a run for it, they were not drugged, they could have just waited for the first layers and climbed on them (not saying the children wouldn't have killed them with an arrow or something else, but would you really stand there and wait to be buried?)

A few scenes with good deaths though.

Pet Sematary

So much better than the remake! And the cat was real in this one ....

Alice, Darling

Another case of misleading trailer, this is absolutely not a thriller. The trailer made it look a lot more eventful, it's actually a veeeery slow-paced drama. It's not bad, the message is very important, but it's just very flat.

The Silence of the Lambs

I just re-watched it because I remembered not liking it but everyone seems to think it's amazing. Still didn't like it, I read a lot of thrillers and nothing here makes sense. Clarice, a trainee, going everywhere by herself, no backup anywhere even though this case seems quite high-profile, the overacting (check out the scene where all the cops are entering the room with Lecter's cage, they are posing like a rock band, it's hilarious). Another example: Clarice saying 4 times "Dr Lecter?" on the phone after he hung up, can't she hear the phone went dead? So funny. And that zoom in onto Lecter's hand in the cage, do you really think your audience is stupid?
Overall, quite funny to watch, but definitely didn't age well (I mean, the book wasn't great to begin with, except for Lecter's character)

The Woman in the Window

Well the book was terrible but I wanted to see whether the cast would make it better in movie format, they didn't. The movie was even worse, the guy playing Ethan did a horrible job (he looked disturbed since his first scene) and the pacing was completely off. The way they dealt with the family didn't work at all.

Unpopular opinion: I like the Park / Morgan storyline

Fatale

The plot was not great but still held my interest, Hilary Swank was great, she was way above the rest. I was not rooting for any of the characters, they were all horrible people but it was entertaining to watch their stupid choices. The music score was HORRIBLE though, couldn't take that stupid bass anymore...

This was such a good episode! I am rooting so hard for Bobby and Athena, wonder what they're going to throw their way

9-1-1: 2x08 Buck, Actually

This episode did it again, it had funny moments (Lola and the robbery), and then it made me sob with the older couple's passing. I was so scared that Buck would end up with that awful reporter, but I'm relieved to see that earthquake girl is back, she seems sweet.

9-1-1: 2x07 Haunted

I hate them so much for killing the horse, but I guess it made for a good emotional scene
I was rooting for Buck and Abby so much and hated that she left, but now I'm rooting for him to move on. She says she cares about him but she's not even giving him calls? I get that you have to find yourself, but don't let the person you love hanging

Prisoners

Wow I don't get how so many people love that movie. The acting is good but the plot is horrible!
I read at least one thriller a week and everything about this plot was terrible. The detective didn't make any good decisions, he kept not asking for backup, not following leads, and not piecing the clues together.

My husband and I guessed the twists about halfway through and it was way too long.

Definitely not going to rewatch it, too bad because I thought it would be amazing

Let It Snow

I'm sick and tired of ALWAYS seeing the same actors in all the Netflix productions, it's starting to get annoying. I didn't particularly like the book but was hoping the movie would make it more fun, but nope, super bland. Joan Cusack was the only funny thing there (oh and the Mick Jagger scene) and Netflix proves once again that quantity over quality is not the best recipe.
