Such a quiet and calm movie, in the best way.
The cinematography adds to that tranquility as well.
The ending was a bit anticlimactic. I think the story could have been a lot better. The visual aspect and the acting was good enough.
It reminded me a lot of the Delirium book series by Lauren Oliver, same thing there with love being a disease.
The conversation towards the end between Elio and his father was such a nice one.
The last 10-15 minutes were so good and the general vibe/feeling throughout the entire movie is also quite relaxing and nice.
I thought it was gonna be bad but it was actually really funny.
Good soundtrack too.
I really like it so far
I'm a bit confused as to what exactly the point of this movie is.
Maybe some things got lost in translation, maybe it's just as weird even if you understand french, I don't know.
It's not a bad movie but I can't honestly say what exactly is good about it either.
It's a bit eerie(but honestly not that much) and quite confusing. The feeling it evokes is a lot stronger and more present in the movie than the actual plot of it, in this case that's not really a good thing, considering the story itself is confusing so the feeling it's supposed to evoke doesn't really have a leg to stand on.
Tom is letting himself be abused and manipulated by Francis, which is made extra clear when Sara arrives and actually stands up for herself, which Tom clearly doesn't do. He doesn't leave, even though there are several red flags. It takes an entire story about Francis ripping a mans face open(and actually seeing that man) for him to finally leave, I feel bad for him but damn it's ridicuous that it took that much.
Finding out that Guillaume basically slept with everybody and that Tom really wasn't that special makes you feel even worse for him.
He is staying at the farm with Guillaume's crazy family, getting emotionally and physically abused by Francis, all because of a guy that probably didn't care that much for him in the first place. It's obvious that Tom is somehow trying to replace Guillaume with Francis and it's really just sad. Tom just seems completely emotionally drained. Francis obviously doesn't want him to leave, which I'm gonna say is not because he genuinely cares for Tom in the slightest but because of his own selfish reasons and because he's a psychopath.
Everybody is trying to replace Guillaume. Tom is trying to replace Guillaume with Francis, and Francis and Agathe are trying to replace Guillaume with Tom but it just isn't possible and just comes off as extremely odd.
I'm not saying it's a bad movie because there is some depth to it but there is just so much missing from it in order to really make you feel something(other than pity for Tom and the urge to punch Francis in the face).
It keeps you thinking about it though, so that's something.
This movie is special to me. There's just something about it, the general feeling/vibe it has. I don't really know, I just really like it.
This is like a bad version of Starstruck(2010).
It even has scenes that are pretty much the same.

"I have to kill myself now, excuse me"
Best line
Unexpectedly kind of funny. A breath of fresh air
Malec is back....I can rest in peace.
The first half was not very good at all, the second half was better but still not all that great.
I've never had an ED but I think it was a great movie. I don't think it glamorizes anything, which I know a lot of people were worried about when the trailer came out.
I really liked the soundtrack and the acting was also really good. Lily Collins did as excellent job, as well as Keanu Reeves.
I liked it. I didn't know it was supposed to be a horror movie, I hadn't watched the trailer prior to watching the movie and I didn't really know much about it.
There wasn't any chemistry between Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hiddleston even though I think they're great actors individually. It wasn't a make it or break it thing for me but it was something I noticed. The acting was good apart from that though.
Visually, it's a beautiful film and the story is pretty decent. The CGI and the ghosts are very so-so and even laughable at times, however, I don't think that is pivotal, there are lots of great movies with shitty CGI or shitty looking monsters.
It wasn't scary, there's a few jump-scares but that's about it. It is certainly pretty weird and can cause you to feel uneasy at times but mainly it's just an interesting story. Don't go into it expecting tons of jump-scares and gore.
I think it's a good movie to watch on a rainy, bleak day.
Major was the best thing about this episode. Hilarious. The fact that the cast managed to keep a straight face, props.
WTF WAS THAT ENDING???!!!
That must have been a dream or a stunt of some sort.....
The suspense in this episode....dear lord..... and oh that ending......leaving it on a cliffhanger, huh
I will say that I did have quite high expectations for this movie and it did not end up being as good as I thought it would be, however, I really liked the acting and the music, both were really good. The way the movie was filmed(the lightning, angles, everything) was also really good.
The ending was really unsatisfying and the explanation for everything(why everything happened and the motives for it) was really weak. There are lots of unanswered questions or answers that quite frankly really don't make much sense.
The movie as a whole has a really uneasy vibe/feeling to it, which adds a lot to it even if nothing particularly odd/scary/weird is happening at the moment.
There was a particular scene that made me flinch so bad because it looked hella painful (the scene with the tooth drilling, ouch).
So the secret to a longer life or maybe eternal life is..... eel sweat...eel derived sweat .....what even.
Also the fact that the baron would do all that shit just for a pure bloodline just seems kind of weak and far fetched to me.
I guess there is symbolism for workaholism and making work your life. People want to cure something that isn't there and just end up actually getting sick instead....I don't really know what I'm supposed to feel about this movie or what the intentions are or what deeper meaning it actually has.
It wasn't a bad movie, and it certainly wasn't a masterpiece but it was unique, so at least that's something.
I don't want to make it seem like it was a bad movie, because it wasn't. It did keep my attention throughout the entire movie and I never once felt bored.
I also didn't have a problem with the length of the movie(it being almost 2 and a half hours long). I never caught myself thinking about when the movie was gonna end and I was never bored of it either which I'm guessing has a lot to do with me really wanting to know the answers to all the questions I had and I think that might be the biggest reason as to why I got disappointed.
I was expecting this big reveal at the end and it just never happened, a lot is left to interpretation and it just didn't feel complete.
Would I recommend it? Maybe , if you're someone that's sick of seeing the same old things over and over and actually want to see something somewhat original then yes, I would recommend it.
If you just ask for a movie recommendation then this movie would not be at the top of my list and there are lots of other great movies I'd recommend instead.
My point is, it's not a must-see but it is worth seeing.
It's no masterpiece but it's not bad either.
It's more interesting than it is scary (I personally don't mind that though).
I'm glad they didn't put in a bunch of cheap jumpscares everywhere like a lot of movies do.
The characters are a bit flat and I honestly didn't really care much about them and not once was I actually worried about any of them. That's not a good sign.
It has a pretty interesting concept but there was just something missing. I'd say the main problem is that I just didn't care much about the characters, which is a big problem because if a character dies, no matter how awful the death scene might be, I simply won't care anyway.
This movie was kind of meh...which is sad because it had potential. Too bad.
I will say though that the kid is a good actor. Props for that.
Visually it's such a beautiful movie. God damn.
It wasn't the best movie ever but it did keep me in suspense all throughout the movie so I'll give it props for that.
As a lot of other people have mentioned there's a lot missing. Why Diana is doing what she is doing is not really explained at all, which is a big problem.
The acting was pretty good though.
I did enjoy the original short film but the way it turned out as a full lengh movie did not quite reach my expectations.
By no means a bad movie though.
The first 6/7 episodes has the most terrible acting, line delivery and the writing is so cliché.
After that though it got better, or maybe I got used to it, I don't know, either way, I like it better now,
but it still makes me cringe at least 5 times per episode(compared to every 20 seconds for the first few episodes).
The writing, acting and line delivery is sooooo bad. God damn, I have probably never cringed more at a show.
That was the most mediocre ending
that ending though, can't wait 'til next week!
After the video that leaked out I am officially boycotting this movie.
You don't treat an animal like that.
That crazy murder woman is my favourite character,by far. I actually find that storyline more interesting than the main Drik Gently/Todd one.
If they don't catch him I'm gonna be hella mad!Ugh,god damn.
I mean they will though right?Unless they're trying to drag it out for a second season.Though it doesnt seem like that's plausible.
I'm so mad!Stupid ass motherfucker shooting Lukas. He might not be the most likeable person but GOD DAMN,don't shoot him!
Can they just arrest/murder this psycho already?
Lukas hasn't really bothered me THAT much up until this episode. He is such a complete asshole, even though Philip is so nice.
yeah, no, fuck him, honestly.
I really liked this season. It was almost as good as Asylum,up until this finale. The finale was horrible.
This season as a whole was intense, confusing at times and actually pretty scary(leaving you at the edge of your seat type of thing)and THIS is how it ends?!
No,not cool.I expected a lot more.
