I don't know how it balances horror and comedy so well but it really does.
Major was the best thing about this episode. Hilarious. The fact that the cast managed to keep a straight face, props.
I will say that I did have quite high expectations for this movie and it did not end up being as good as I thought it would be, however, I really liked the acting and the music, both were really good. The way the movie was filmed(the lightning, angles, everything) was also really good.
The ending was really unsatisfying and the explanation for everything(why everything happened and the motives for it) was really weak. There are lots of unanswered questions or answers that quite frankly really don't make much sense.
The movie as a whole has a really uneasy vibe/feeling to it, which adds a lot to it even if nothing particularly odd/scary/weird is happening at the moment.
There was a particular scene that made me flinch so bad because it looked hella painful (the scene with the tooth drilling, ouch).
So the secret to a longer life or maybe eternal life is..... eel sweat...eel derived sweat .....what even.
Also the fact that the baron would do all that shit just for a pure bloodline just seems kind of weak and far fetched to me.
I guess there is symbolism for workaholism and making work your life. People want to cure something that isn't there and just end up actually getting sick instead....I don't really know what I'm supposed to feel about this movie or what the intentions are or what deeper meaning it actually has.
It wasn't a bad movie, and it certainly wasn't a masterpiece but it was unique, so at least that's something.
I don't want to make it seem like it was a bad movie, because it wasn't. It did keep my attention throughout the entire movie and I never once felt bored.
I also didn't have a problem with the length of the movie(it being almost 2 and a half hours long). I never caught myself thinking about when the movie was gonna end and I was never bored of it either which I'm guessing has a lot to do with me really wanting to know the answers to all the questions I had and I think that might be the biggest reason as to why I got disappointed.
I was expecting this big reveal at the end and it just never happened, a lot is left to interpretation and it just didn't feel complete.
Would I recommend it? Maybe , if you're someone that's sick of seeing the same old things over and over and actually want to see something somewhat original then yes, I would recommend it.
If you just ask for a movie recommendation then this movie would not be at the top of my list and there are lots of other great movies I'd recommend instead.
My point is, it's not a must-see but it is worth seeing.
That crazy murder woman is my favourite character,by far. I actually find that storyline more interesting than the main Drik Gently/Todd one.
After watching the first 5 episodes:
I actually quite like it.This isn't typically the type of show I'd go for but so far it's pretty fun and the acting is surprisingly good.
It's a bit like if you took half a glass of freshly pressed orange juice and filled the rest up with water. I get what they were going for but it just lacks anything that will truly make it interesting
It falls short with the humor, the thriller aspect and the character development and I just feel like they could have done more with it.
Not horrible but yeah, watered down orange juice
A more original twist on the mermaid theme. It's refreshing. So far so good and hopefully it stays that way.
Unexpectedly kind of funny. A breath of fresh air
The writing, acting and line delivery is sooooo bad. God damn, I have probably never cringed more at a show.
Really fucking good. I don't watch swedish movies very often(even though I am swedish), but when I do, THIS is what I want to see.
I'd recommend it to anyone.
Liv(Rose) looks gorgeous in this episode!honestly, just fantastic.
Basically....
In this episode Liv's eats the brain of a Asian gang-member.
She all of a sudden is an expert at Kung Fu,or maybe it is karate, either way it's cool to watch.
She suspects Clive is a ''dirty cop''(thanks to her visions),who's actually in their gang, the Blue Cobras, though in reality he worked undercover trying to take them down.
Ravi agrees to move in with Major and they seem to get along really well.
Opinions
I think it's fun that Ravi and Major are becoming friends.
I have to admit I almost belived that Clive could have been a part of the Blue Cobras, good thing he's not.
Generally a good episode.
This is now my go-to lesbian Christmas movie(not that there are that many to choose from but still).
It was really cute, the acting was fine and I've always been a sucker for the fake dating trope
It's a great movie and I hated it. It made me angry and I hate both of them(but I also don't). I had a bad time but also kind of a good time but I got a lot out of it and I don't know what to make of that
Love/hate relationship with it for sure
I went into this without any expectations, I knew nothing about it and the premise sounded okay but by the end I was fully in love with this story and these characters. This is definitely a new comfort movie for me.
When they first started getting closer I was prepared for it to take a romantic route(it's to be expected and it's been done so many times before) but I'm so glad it didn't.
In conclusion: It was great and we need more platonic love stories
I had really high expectations going in and it surpassed them by a landslide and every minute was a fucking blast. Now, it should be mentioned that I'm a whore for time loops so that's definitely a strong factor BUT I think most people would enjoy this
The vibes, the pacing, everything
Throw the whole child away
I had no idea what to expect when I started watching this movie. I was in a horror mood and I think asian countries produce some of the best horror movies and I found this and decided to give it a go.
I'm gonna start of by saying I really liked this movie mainly because I'm a big fan of any movie that has psychological elements and that can keep you guessing and this movie has both.
It's not a mindfuck movie but as soon as you think you know what's really going on it takes a turn and then you think "now I know what's actually true!" Nope, wrong again, there's another turn coming.
It's engaging and the acting is great.
It has a few jump scares but the movie doesn't rely on them and they are used quite sparingly. The suspenseful music in some scenes go on for a little too long and become a tad bit annoying but that's not really too big of a deal. The only significant complaint I've got is that the ending was a little too abrupt and I feel like more could have been done with it.
I happened to watch this on a rainy day which is really fitting considering how much it rains in this movie which really adds a great atmosphere(I was going to say that it has a relaxing atmosphere but the story itself is far from relaxing, maybe I just consider it relaxing 'cause I'm a whore for rain).
Highly recommend it.
Noel being the voice of reason in this episode, Ezra´s a creep, idc idc.
Very different from what I thought it was gonna be, I'm pleasantly surprised.
That scene where she rips her hand out of the handcuff was the grossest shit I've seen in a while, I could barely watch it.
It lacked something, I just don't know what. It also felt really short, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it felt like it ended as soon as it started. Kind of underwhelming.
Maybe it was because of the hype but I was a bit disappointed. It's not a bad movie by any means and it definitely has a certain atmosphere, that's for sure.
Looks promising.
Also, really glad to to see Adina Porter back.
It's no masterpiece but it's not bad either.
It's more interesting than it is scary (I personally don't mind that though).
I'm glad they didn't put in a bunch of cheap jumpscares everywhere like a lot of movies do.
The characters are a bit flat and I honestly didn't really care much about them and not once was I actually worried about any of them. That's not a good sign.
It has a pretty interesting concept but there was just something missing. I'd say the main problem is that I just didn't care much about the characters, which is a big problem because if a character dies, no matter how awful the death scene might be, I simply won't care anyway.
This movie was kind of meh...which is sad because it had potential. Too bad.
I will say though that the kid is a good actor. Props for that.
One of my all time favourite shows and probably my favourite animated show. All of the characters have such a big personality and they have their own purpose, which I really appreciate.Sometimes certain characters are only in certain shows/movies to bring the story forward for another character but that is not the case for Bob's Burgers.Shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy have never really been my thing(don't get me wrong;they are okay but not really my thing at all) but Bob's Burgers most definitely is.
My favourite(if I have to pick one)is probably Louise, mainly because she's hilarious and stubborn and always entertaining. She reminds me a little bit of my self actually so maybe that's a big reason why I like her because I can really relate to her.
Tina is also awesome(Teenagehood, crushes, butts ;) and generally just awkward moments).I don't even know how I'd describe Gene, and I honestly don't think I want to or can for that matter, just watch the show, seriously. The rivalry between Bob and Jimmy Pesto is really interesting to follow too.Linda is just 'delightful',in lack of a better word and her singing always cracks me up.
A little detail I really like is that the house on the right side of the restaurant always has a different name/sign for each episode, most people knew this already but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
Unlike many other shows;every episode of Bob's Burgers is good, there's less good ones but no actual bad ones.
If you haven't watched it I'd really recommend to at least give it a chance and see if you like it because, well,It's truly great.
Last season was a bit weak, however, the rest of the show is excellent.
This is one of the few movies that make me cry within the first five minutes. It's a great movie.
It makes you want to continue watching.
Seems good.
Basically....
Liv eats the brain of a man that's a hacker/internet troll. The brain is rather old, about one or two weeks ,her vision gets blurry occasionally because of this.
She starts playing a fantasy game on his computer and starts to eat and drink a lot of junk food.
Liv has her first kind of date with Lowell or drop-by as Lowell expressed it.Lowell tries to kiss her,she ducks,it gets awkward and he leaves.Lowell can no longer play at shows(he's a musician)because he gets all ''full-on-zombie mode'' so he only plays in the studio. Then at the very end of the episode they kiss outside the studio.
Blaine kills Jackie(at least that's what it looked like. Most likely she's dead.).
Liv finds out about Blaine's shady business,at least some part of it.
Opinions....
I thought this episode was interesting. It was cool to see her eat rotten brains and what the effects of doing so was.
Basically....
Liv eats the brain of someone she knows, who she knew in college.
She meets Lowell, another Zombie. He dyes his hair so at first Liv has no idea he's a zombie,he however says he knew she was a zombie all along. They connect and even though Liv is not completely over Major she is willing to give him a chance. She said in this episode that:
''Lowell could turn out to be nothing,or everything''
Major is still worried because Jerome is still missing.
This episode is special because of two reasons:
1.First time Liv eats the brain of someone she knows.
2.She meets Lowell.Possible love interest,total cutie.
Opinions....
Yeeess, another zombie!Hopefully he isn't a douche.I didn't trust or really like Blaine when you first get to meet him,I still don't but I liked Lowell pretty quickly.
