I think that in the next movie they're going to fight against aliens from another galaxy and they will have cars that can transform into spaceships and Dwayne Johnson will kill a dinosaur with his fists.
The ending of episode 2 is epic now I'm hooked
The beginning was great, full of intrigue and mystery, but unfortunately, the last few episodes shifted in a different direction, in my opinion.
Alien universe film order:
1. Prometheus (2012)
2. Alien: Covenant (2017)
3. Alien (1979)
4. Aliens (1986)
5. Alien 3 (1992)
6. Alien: Resurrection (1997)
Spin-off franchise:
- Alien vs. Predator (2004)
- Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (2007)
Am I the only one that didn't feel the runtime? I'm not joking when I say it felt like a normal-length movie once it had finished - all thanks to how riveting every second was I guess. But I also just cannot imagine any of this cut out.
I would say this is a perfect film, and Scorsese is just too much of a veteran at this point - this man is undoubtedly one of the greatest directors in all of cinema.
Loved how subdued everything was played in this one, so much so that you forget how dark it is at some points. It's subtly complex in pure Scorsese fashion but tells the seemingly well-researched tale of a brutally simple true story about 1920's greed. It even feels like so many of Scorsese's gangster films turned completely on its head. I love how Marty's films have aged and matured along with him.
I felt so many things watching this. It's stunning, it's twisted, it's weird, it's hot. One thing's for sure, it'll be on my mind for quite some time.
I worked on the VFX of this movie. Have a look at behind the scenes material here on how some of the effects where done: http://www.stormstudios.no/kontiki
Love the layers in this movie. Couldn't stop thinking about it after I left. I've seen it twice already. In fact, as I was leaving the theater, I saw myself going in and thought, "Man, he is going to love this!"
I have almost no idea what happened, but I liked it. Might be my favourite James Bond film.
Self indulgent crap with no effort and half of it is just stock footage. At least the book had a little bit of substance, but this just shows how out of touch Mark is with society
It's a 90min self development guru YouTube video. Not that interesting.
Self indulgent junk I am sorry to say, his way is very much equivalent to the vapid parts of society he criticizes…
Very well done. If you grew up watching this show then you will definitely find it satisfying and nostalgic. I hope more are made and I would even watch a streaming series if one was made. Well done Rob Zombie!
If you're looking for an action and "turn brain off now" film, just don't watch it and spare us the 6-7 hearts review.
I for one, am very tired from 500$m crap like Indi Day and Marvel's poop. So I was very excited to watch this one.
This one is more like Spielberg's Encounters from the Third Kind. It's more about the characters in the film and the amazing journey they go through. It's mostly about the human behavior that will make you think.
While it's not an End of the World aliens movie like Battle: Los Angeles, it still offers great amount of military presence and plenty of stuff that's going on.
So if you actually want to care about an intelligent movie and use your head - go. Otherwise, go watch an X men.
Highly recommended for some audience 10/10.
2-feb-2017 edit: Just came out on Bluray and I saw it again. Definitely keeping my rating.
Watching again at July-2023, excited towards Dune II : Excellent. Excellent film. So called plot-holes listed here are negligible when the overall product is really thoughtful and masterfully crafted.
It wasn't awful, but, I think I must be the only person in the world who didn't think it was great. There were times when breaking out into song mid-conversation without some sort of elaborate set-change didn't make sense, The 2 leads weren't exactly talented singers or dancers -- no wow numbers. The sets improved by the time the final number rolled around, but the singing and dancing remained an afterthought.
This is probably the most overrated movie from last year… I was really disappointed. The acting was regular and not especially glorious, the story was somehow weird but not that bad. The changes between scenes were so abrupt, that I could not enjoy the story… The soundtrack is amazing but that's about all of the movie that really is good – except for some pictures/scenes that look great (playing with the sunsets, etc.). Altogether I'm really surprised that this movie won so many awards…
Holy fuck, that was the funniest episodes of a TV show I've seen in recent times.
Just watched the first three episodes, but so far I'm loving this series. It brings an emotional side to the zombie apocalypse genre in a very lovely and impactful way. Episode three is one of the best episodes of television ever, pretty much up there with Castle Rock's Season 1 episode 7 "The Queen". Very powerful mini story with wonderful acting.
EDIT AFTER THE END OF THE SEASON:
I'm staying by my initial reaction - this show is really worth watching. It's visceral, emotional and most of all - human. Highly recommend.
What a cute episode. I'm surprised there are so many people calling it a filler episode when in reality this is what the show is all about - what is happening to "the last of us" - which includes how people survive, why they want to survive, how they continue life, what they choose to fight for and who they choose to fight for. The part that I don't understand is why when you find this well guarded place, now uninhabited, with power and supplies and a radio, you would choose to leave...
My favorite part? David Duchovny as a woman. ♡
I have a hard time imagining the show gets any better from here.
Intriguing version of Jesus' time in the wilderness. Whilst not necessarily Biblical in its telling it is still authentic to the character Jesus may have been as He gets to grips with humanity and His mission.
Quietly powerful.
Really heartfelt story. My kids were a little freaked out when Sisu got shot in the heart and basically died for a while , wish that hadn't lasted so long, but still very emotional film at the end when everyone came back to life .
Definitely recommend, very classic Disney movie. Also no songs, so that's a huge plus for me !
This is not a movie about dragons and the world of Kumandra. This is about Earth, this is the real world. We are divided, groups of people completely hating each other inside the same nation.
Unfortunately we are facing our own Druun, our plague. But as in the movie, this isn't our biggest problem. The real enemy is our inability to work together as a community, to put aside political views and really trust each other, working together for the best of everybody.
Beyond the important and necessary message, the movie is a fun adventure, the world building is great and the technical aspect is what you would expect of a Disney movie.
First time I didn't like it too much. given weak sauce but after watching this movie again I think I'm starting to love this movie. So changed it to totally ninja !
