True Detective: 4x05 Night Country: Part 5

This is 'True Detective' in name only. Would have enjoyed it much more if they didn't use the name for blantly marketing purposes only.

True Detective: 4x03 Night Country: Part 3

It's going downhill quickly...

Culprits: 1x07 This Is Our Exit

The more I watch the show the more I dislike it, but so close.. just going to power through it and try not to hurt my eyes from rolling them so much.

The Changeling: Season 1

Was looking forward to this, but found it painfully unwatchable.

Expats: 1x03 Mid-Levels

Going to give this one more episode. While the subject matter is depressing, it’s hard to relate and feel empathy for such unlikable and pretentious characters.

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: 1x05 Barnett vs. Barnett

Michael is insufferable. I couldn’t place what was recognizable to me, then it hit me when he was introducing his lawyers… he is a creepy Micheal Scott.

The Blackening

Better than I expected it to be , not nearly as funny or as clever as the filmmakers think it is.

#CyberSleuths: The Idaho Murders: 1x01 Crime Goes Viral

Not worth the time to watch the three episodes, not sure why there were three episodes as nothing really is discovered or unearthed. I thought there might be something that these “sleuths” did to help the case but it’s more about focusing on the so called cyber sleuths. I am older, and do get some of the appeal of social media, but for the life of me can’t understand on how anyone watches or follows so many of the top “creators”, and in this genre I find it even more disturbing that people actually lend any real credence to just about anything they have to say. Now get off my lawn!!

Serial Killer: Devil Unchained

Not worth the long runtime, I was familar with the case and it didn't shed any light, or come up with anymore insight on the topic. Could have been covered in 90-120 minutes, even then would be stretching it out a bit.

Dateline NBC: 32x21 The Room Downstairs

A repeat.. I actually just watched this 25x36 At the Bottom of the Stairs And seems like the same show, no new updates as I could tell.

Beacon 23: 1x01 Corbenic

Best compliment I can think of is that it isn't entirely terrible. Medicore at best. I knew it was going to have problems from the start when mechanical gears were introduced as a problem with the station. I'll probably keep on watching, but sadly don't see it getting any better.

Terrifier 2

An improvement from the first one. Much more ambitious, but to a fault. Much too long, the final part at the carnival seemed to go on and on…

V/H/S/85

I don't know why I keep going back to this "franchise"; all suffer the same problem. Half baked and poorly acted. The first story was the only one that held any interest, and it didn't go anywhere. I am going to make a promise to myself and stay away from any future movies in the series.

The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster

Terrible. Character development is non existent, characters are paper thin. The ending is baffling, Plot is nonsensical. Acting is over the top, but hard to judge it based on what they had to work with. at just around 90 minutes I still struggled to make it through it. While Vicaria may be brillant child, nothing is the least bit demonstrated that would give her the capability of resurrection... but I guess she knew the periodic table well enough... so you never know. I was hoping at least there would be a few scary, or at the very least, creepy parts, but there was not a single shot or sequence that came close to providing any suspense.

Terrifier

It was pretty much what I expcted it to be. But some of the scenes are unrealistic, it is much harder and takes a lot more time to cut a body in half vertically, as well as decpaiting an adult.

A Wounded Fawn

I really like the first act, thought it had a creepy vibe and wasn't sure where it was going... unfortuantely neither did the filmmakers. The final act is a pretentious nonsensical mess, have no clue what the intent was and worse it wasn't entertaining in any fashion.

Invasion

Features a good cast, great special effects, and great craftsmanship it suffers from attempting too much character development. There are way too many characters and the show loses focus on the story at hand. I am finding season two a bit better, but the story still stalls with character developlent of characters I frankly don't give a rats ass about. If they combined the two seasons into one and increased the pacing I think it'd a much more enjoyable story.

Southbound

This has been on my list to catch up for a few years, I remember seeing some really positive reviews for it, but after starting it I knew a few minutes in it wasn't going to live up to my somewhat lofty expectations. It was watchable for an indie film, but none of the stories really stood out and were forgettable.

Homebound

Had moments of creepy vibes, but has issues with character development and motivations. Plus dropped a whole point just on the confusing ending alone.

Gatlopp

A fun little movie, good cast and it didn’t overstay it’s welcome.

Bodies Bodies Bodies

Someone beat me to my review of Boring Boring Boring. Certain scenes I liked for a bit, but didn’t really find any character relatable or likeable, so hard to give a shit about any of them surviving. It did have a few minutes and scenes that I liked. Lee Pace was the highlight.

Bone Tomahawk

I’ve been meaning to see this for years, and it lived up to expectations. Although I thought the horror aspect would be a bit more prominent. But great cast, writing and pacing.

Watcher

Loved the atmosphere, has a creepy vibe. And Burn is always great in a creepy role.

Totally Killer

This is what you get when you mix a network sitcom and a horror movie. It was watchable mostly for the lead.

loading replies
The Mill

I thought it was a bit boring and tedious, I guessed the ending, similar to an Outer Limits episode that had David hyde Pierce in it.

Better Call Saul Presents: Slippin' Jimmy

No idea how this ever got made, wasn't sure what I was expecting when I finally got caught up with this, but it feels so disconnected from BCS, I've watched the first two episodes and if I didn't know what it was I don't think I'd ever put it together. I'll finish it out only because it's so short...

Found: 1x01 Pilot

While most network shows are formulatic, this one takes it to another level. The script and dialogue are predictable, the acting is wooden and over the top. It rationlizes horrendous & illegal activity under the guise of saving people. I gave it a shot as I liked Shanola Hampton from Shameless. I get watching easy to watch proceduals, junk food viewing. But there are much better ones available, I would be surprised if this gets picked up.

I gave it 6 episodes... and a HARD pass.
