Shetru just outdid himself this time. This is what you get when a visionary director who is passionate towards what he does, executes a movie so beautifully. This is world class cinema and what kannada cinema is capable of. Thank you for the entire team for proving that again.
The movie never misses a beat in showcasing the culture , folkore of tulunadu. It just hooks you up right from the opening sequence and never lets u go. This probably has the best opening scene for a kannada cinema of all time. Each and every characters steals the scene they are in.
Technically the movie is shot beautifully and some scenes are just picture perfect. Movie is filled with some of the best shots to ever come from Indian cinema. You can just freaze some frames and put it on as wallpaper. It's that good. Background score is just cherry on top. Every time the awsome score came up it was goosebumps.
Mad respect to Rishab Shetty for taking this complicated concept and executing so masterfully. If u have even some ideas about the culture, traditions of tulunadu, then you're going to love this. Its funny, has social commentary, mystery and the best execution of supernatural powers. Showdown between the protagonist and the antagonist is just epic. You just have to watch this amazing piece of cinema to experience it, so don't miss it. There are few minute things i dint like but it dwarves away in comparison how good the rest of the movie is. 10/10 amazing stuff all around.
Man this movie is still amazing after all this time. Even with its little flaws, still stands strong. Looking at today's standards this movie should be considered masterpiece.
This has everything what u can expect from a movie. Cinematography, awsome songs and background scores, a pretty awsome story line, mystery, local folklore, physchological aspects and a tragic love story all wrapped into one single movie. For me the movie peaks at halfway when the revelation starts to happen. And in the second half story takes a new turn, which is brilliant. Sai kumar just kills it as Kalinga bhatta(literally). There is so many things happening in this movie, justifies the longer runtime. First it starts of with the mystery of guddeda bhoota, halfway through the movie will make you question on what is real, second half deals with the backstories of the characters, there is even a plot of local currupt politics and the system. And at its core, psychological trauma and it's effects. All crafted masterfully. Yes, there are some cheezy stuffs going on, acting isn't great always but these are small things that can be overlooked when the movie itself is so engaging. Made me interested in Kannada movies again, and showed the potential in our industry which i grew up watching. More such films please.
