My name is Barry Allen, and I am the dumbest Man Alive. To the Earth-2 people I am an ordinary speedster, but secretly with the help of Dr Wells I gave my speed to Zoom and became a normal guy. I hunted down the man who killed Jay Garrick, but in doing so, he took Caitlin as a prisoner and my speed was gone. And I am the only one dumb Enough to do it. I am the Dumb
Imagine making a movie that has such big stakes, but make it so nobody cares about any of the characters.
Jean Grey - Yawn, she struggled with controlling her powers, controlling her emotions. Some part understandable but I felt no emotion.
Professor X - Acts like a Villain for the first half of the film.
Mystique - Shouldn't have hired Jennifer Lawrence, she couldn't handle the make-up. Attempts a death scene but leaves no emotional impact.
Quicksilver - Has some of the most iconic scenes in comic book films and they don't give him his scene. Gets injured early on and just disappears until the end of the film.
Storm - Was just there to do damage.
Beast - The only character with correct motivation and you somewhat understand why he feels the way he does. Just feels like bad casting personally. Hoult is just too youthful and skinny for beast.
Cyclops - His character is just completely centred around Jean. Feels like we never get to see just Scott.
Nightcrawler - Where does this come from, he just become a murdering psycho and the build up just seems too out of character for him.
Magneto - Probably the best performance, character flipped sides very easily considering his motivation for wanted to kill Jean.
Jennifer Chastain/Aliens - Why, what, who, what, why.
Good scene - Using their power to fight over control of the helicopter
Bad Scene - Every single one with Jennifer Lawrence
This is mostly stuck in second gear for the entire runtime, it’s very bland and poorly directed. Interestingly, despite having a different director at the helm a lot of the problems from X-Men Apocalypse carry over. There’s once again visible cheapness in the costumes and make-up, Lawrence phones it in, Sophie Turner can’t pull off what she’s asked to do and the story feels muddled. The new elements it adds on top of that don’t really work either, for example Jessica Chastain gives the most lifeless performance of her career as the villain of this film. Generally, it just looks and feels like a cheap tv show, Kinberg clearly wasn’t ready for this. Due to it’s smaller scale it never becomes as schlocky as the worst moments in Apocalypse, X-Men Origins Wolverine or The Last Stand, but this movie feels unambitious next to all of those films. I’d be fine with the approach if it had genuine good writing and interesting direction, but what’s being served here is not cerebral, emotional or exciting.
3.5/10
Barry was confused. So confused with Laurel's death that he forgot he lost his speed in The Flash's episode. It could also be due to the CW breaks. Barry is confused because of those breaks that I kinda get it
I guess he was not a fast thinker.
Objectively this show is not good. Bad writing, plotholes and such but I just love every second of it.
And now with that ending I very much look forward to next season.
It was extremely beautiful. The acting and scene were just breath-taking. The story, though, not so much. Unfortunately predictable from the first moment, it was rather disappointing. Very artistic experience, though!
Warning Lot of Spoilers ahead for THIS MOVIE & Avengers Endgame( if you havent seen endgame and are seeing dark phoenix, u belong in a museum).
Wont use spoilers tag. will be too many.
Remember when captain america picked up the hammer.
Remember "avengers assemble".
Remember all the cool moments from so many awesome movies. hell even the previous xmen movies.
Good luck trying to find them here. Not a single cinematic moment created in a comic book movie full of wonderful and loved characters played by talented actors. How do you F*** this up.....
The movie starts of with so much promise. And then we see Jennifer Lawrence, (who btw is not in the mystique makeup coz she is a huge star now. whatever happened to "mutant and proud"), scolding Charles that X-men should be called X-women now...
And then 2-4 people clapped and laughed in the theatre. #CringeAlert
wow...
soo.... i guess Hank, nightcrawler, quicksilver and scott are not men......
enough already with this sjw nonsense.
It is all downhill from there. The writing and direction is just bad. It is tragic that this is the last xmen film of this "continuity/saga" under Fox.
I cant believe im saying this but Xmen Apocalypse was so much better. I cant believe im gonna say that EVEN Xmen 3 the last stand at least had some coherence and a plot driving forward compared to this lost cause.
The villain is played by jessica chastain who is playing............. YEAH I DONT KNOW. i have to go to wikipedia or google to probably find out . otherwise she is just there.... manipulating jean gray to become evil...
The performances by actors are great and there is just one tiny action set piece outside Jean Gray's house. it lasted a few seconds but it was so promising. but the movie failed so much after that.
Mystique is killed off there and Quicksilver is "conveniently" injured. you know...... coz he can literally solve all problems the movie might ever have. also his special effects probably cost a lot, as much as the whole production.
It was interesting to see Hank and Magneto to team up to kill Jean Gray but that lasted again like 10 seconds where everyone reunites to protect Jean Gray from Jessica Chastain who is playing the role of .......... YEAH I DONT KNOW .... a bad woman/alien....
So many moments could be created based on these characters to move the audience. based on their powers.
When hank comes to tell magneto that mystique is dead there was a crashed helicopter behind him. I thought he would probably destroy it or something with his powers in rage. Justifiable power usage in moments But no, he sheds a tear....
But you get the cheeky moments like Scott asking Storm to put ice in her drinks... Really.... There is no ice at that party. If storm is not around they will have drinks without ice??? nonsense screenwriting
Everything is dark. Every scene is dark . Most of the set pieces are set in dark (except that jean gray house scene which was decent for few seconds)
Even the damn climax is in a train in dark. Couldnt really tell what was going on . All hodgepodge action. full of confusing moments.
Its just sad. I dont want it to be avengers end game. but this movie never tries.
Only thing commendable are the actors' performances. Nightcrawler after being weird in the last movie gets to shine a bit when he finally enrages and start fighting in climax. but that again lasts only few seconds.
Sophie Turner does a good job. But the writing does not do enough justice.
I mean the final fight in Jean vs Jessica Chastain, she taunts to Jean that "your emotions make you weak" , mid - fight.
ok awesome. i wonder what would be a cool comeback to that. which make you pump up in excitement as Jean finishes her off.
Lets ask some 10 year old shall we.
10 year old: "ummm just use the opposite sentence. YOURE WRONG. MY EMOTIONS MAKE ME STRONG !!"
Good job 10 year old. you should join our crew.
im not kidding. this is how Jean replies to whats-her-name before finishing her off.
It all boils down to how good the villain/antagonist in the end for every movie/story (at least in a CBM).
X men Apocalypse whatever kind of movie it was, it was at least having a powerful villain performance by Oscar Isaac who had a decent screen presence and powerful delivery of dialogues at some places ( the missile scene ).
and here we have jessica chastain who plays......... WHO THE F*** IS SHE PLAYING???? AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT? DID I MISS A MOVIE OR SOME POST CREDIT SCENE FROM BEFORE. F***!!!.
average movie . see it if you are bored. but it will definitely tarnish your xmen memories. I actually re-watched xmen apocalypse immediately afterwards to see how much better it was then this mess.
Episode 11x22, "She's Leaving Home," stands out as the longest episode in the show's history, spanning two hours without being split into separate episodes. However, in some countries, it aired as two separate episodes, labeled as 11x22 and 11x23. Subsequently, what aired as 11x23 was then recognized as the 11x24 episode, and what aired as 11x24 became the 11x25 episode. Yet, in the USA, the series maintains 24 episodes in total.
Didn't like this at all. Felt bored through most of it. Nothing scary apart from the odd jump moment. Plot was so predictable and dull.
Gets into the heart and soul of what it means to be an actor in Star Trek. Shatner had fantastic talks with each of the captains, and talked about how the role affected them. I particularly loved the conversation he had with Patrick Stewart.
Why did I go and watch this? I went hoping it was not as bad as most people thought it was. Unfortunately, it was as bad. I came away from the cinema feeling very cheated. I found it all a confusing jumble of unfinished scenes, with characters I really didn't care about and with an ending that was laughable. It gets 4/10 and that was purely for Harley, who had the best lines and made me not walk out of the cinema... which, I came close to doing on several occasions. Don't waste too much of your money on this, they have made their money back and that's what the trick was I guess... nice one. I fell for it.
worst episode of The Flash brought to you by extra cheesiness and the writing of a 13 year old.
Really good film, certainly Bays best ever (not hard). Wahlberg replays his 3 kings character in a NBK meets the big lebwoski, very funny.
I have little patience with movies where the perspective is a 'camera' held by one of the actors. This one is no exception...did NOT work for me at all. Slow paced and stupid. Would have made a decent short film if they had used real cameras...
Outstanding animation let down by the most generic of plot lines. A replaced Wesker and 5 minutes spent on a boring revenge story couldn't even be saved by fantastic battle sequences. A waste of potential.
Even less scary than the first one. Liked the nod to The Shining and how closely the older actors resembled the kids from movie one, but the whole ritual stuff was so dumb and felt so disconnected.
Coming back from Daredevil to this... Jesus this is terrible writing and acting.
What is this B grade rubbish. The cover art is the best part of this entire movie.

Should have stayed short if anything. They tryhard at tryharding. It's so over the top it's just boring and Axe Cop is already doing the same thing anyways. You might enjoy this if you have nostalgia goggles glued to your face and are okey with just 30 minutes of "wow - so random - '80s!!!".
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Not sure why e'rybody hatin on it. Reminiscent of Poltergeist, some scary parts, some edge of your seat parts, and yes, some predictable parts.
Cinema Paco 1. picture and sound 3.5 / 5 Much better than 3, but far from the 1 and 2. Starting on white alien all go to shit
The character and the graphic are really cool. The problem is the plot: a totally mess! It's really confused and the storyline hasn't been respected. Such a pity, 'cause it could have been a great movie.
