That dismantling of the bike scene gave me chills. Walter has truly lost his soul.
A little more Black Mirror like than the first one, but come on.
The plot is a very basic hostage situation and they all look the same. The whole thing is totally predictable and hold little interest except for Andrew Scott performance. I didn't even recognize Topher Grace, so good on his part too. It's not bad, it has all what you would expect, but also yeah, you expect it all.
As for the theme, this show used to be about visionary stuff not dayly occurences. Social media is addictive and the company design it this way and it's bad. Really ? Now ? Also don't use your phone while driving, wow ! I mean, there's nothing special here, how many people died this way ? Thousands ? There are litteraly hundreds of people dying each year by taking selfies in stupid places, will they also make a whole episode about it ?
It's also showing that these companies can have everything on you, and spy on you, that's actually a bigger thing than the addiction issue, but it's just passed over when that should be a way better reason to go after them.
And where's the boldness in attacking Facebook now ? And not really attacking either, taking the choice of humanizing the ones that take these decisions like they just happened and were not conscious decisions to make money at the detriment of everything else, that's a poor direction for what this show used to be about.
A small point, that most people will probably not notice. The Persona company sends the mother her daughter's password. It kinda look like a nice thing, but it shows that they won't do it for legal reasons (wouldn't the heir of a deceased person would be lengally entitled to that ?), but they will share their customer data if another billionaire tech bro asks them too. It also means that they can access the clear text passwords of their users. Both things are very wrong. Both also happened to have been in the news about Facebook in the past months. Not sure if it's on purpose or a coincidence. It's pretty hidden for something that's on point on technology misuses, you know, the kind BM used to be about.
Clarke... stupid
Abbie... stupid
Octavia... SUPER STUPID
I'm very angry right now
C'mon, Dustin. Didn't anyone tell you not to feed pollywogs after midnight?
I'm waiting for that thing to grow into a demogorgon (or something worse).
The whole Bob situation was so obvious. I saw that coming from a mile away.
This film fucked me the whole way up. Shook. Shooken to the core.
Damn Walter! You're risking people's lives, just because you're being a perfectionist prick. And also, I LOVED this episode.
RIP kid. He was actually pretty bad ass. He had mad dirt biking skills and didn't give two fucks about handling a tarantula. For a character who didn't even have any lines, I thought he was awesome.
As someone who actually lives in Mexico, and has a 12-men strong Policias Federales group parked just outside my office with machine guns and a freaking tank (yes, a small tank with 2 50mm turrets), and my fair amount of dead bodies seen around in Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon and Sonora, many kidnapped (and lost forever) friends, this movie is one of the best I've ever seen about the War On Drugs. The third act is too constrained, but understandable as this is a movie made for an American audience. I wonder if you guys can tell the difference between Mexico City (where most of the Mexican scenes were shot) and Ciudad Juarez or Nogales, because you can't film there at all. The situation here is worst than anybody can imagine, and I just have to look outside my window. I'm looking forward for the next movie with Del Toro's character.
I'm very surprised by the negative comments on this episode. Perhaps it's because I'm a casual Trek fan, but I adored this episode. So many hilarious line deliveries. So much colourful chemistry between all of the characters (Chapel in particular has perfect chemistry with everyone she talks to). So much class, charm and optimism. Very good use of the visual effects budget to punctuate moments of awe. Overall, I feel really energised by this episode.
Ulrich reuniting with Mikkel for a short while, and him seeing Magnus and Martha, MY HEART.
It's like the showrunners hate Steve ! Poor guy just give him some Happiness :'(
My only complaint is that after making us ship Steve and Robin. They made her like girls.
I can't even begin to put into words here but the prosthetic and makeup division is not only good, it is groundbreaking. The bodies on the later stages of radiation poisoning were absolutely terrifying, it literally gave me chills in the spine, when it shows the firefighter and the wife inside the plastic.
Best lines

Parallelism between Season 1 Episode 1 and Season 8 Episode 1
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
S08E01 Jon: "Where's Arya?" Sansa: "Lurking somewhere."Foreshadowing (from different Seasons/Episodes.)
01.
S03E05“ “Let’s not go back. Let’s stay here a while longer,” Ygritte tells Jon. “I don’t ever want to leave this cave, Jon Snow.” S08E01 “We could stay a thousand years. No one would find us,” Daenerys says to Jon.02.
Sam is suggesting rebelling against the Targaryen because they burned his father and brother alive. Similar to when Robert's Rebellion, began when Rhaegar Targaryen, allegedly abducted Robert's betrothed, Lyanna Stark.
Nice finale. I wanted to see more but I get that that would have been a little bit too much and wouldn't be an ending. It didn't feel like a series finale though but that's okay too.
The show did Batman justice.
I was glued to the screen. Brilliant.
Still good as I remembered as a child before I could watch them in order. Probably one of my favorite intro music.
Ricardo Darín is an incredible actor. I was also pleasantly surprised by Peter Lanzani. The cinematography and art direction are fantastic.
I want to highlight the scenes of the witnesses giving testimony against the dictators. Very emotional. And also the final speech. "Nunca Mas"
A very emotional film with great direction and very good performances. It will surely become an Argentine classic.
This is the episode that gave us Wolverine lying in bed looking at the picture frame meme! :)
