This show was weird but man it got weirder and I think I like it. The cinematography so beautiful and it is so colorful that I could just watch this for an hour with no plot.
Star Lord would be proud of that dance off
Damn... I'm not high enough for this...
WoW! Ok...I need some of the LSD it takes to be involved in this show. What a freaking trip. Also the oddest "version" of White Rabbit I have heard....
A dance off?
The Adventures of Basket Head and The Autotune Female Moustaches.
(Also, I loved that dance off!)
This show has such a unique style, I love it. It is just so beautiful, the way the camera moves, the editing, the colors, the unique locations, the music, it's all fantastic and just makes this show the best looking on TV right now.
This show is weirdly beautiful, from the music, story, acting, moving, technique, to directing, all are amazing and unique. No other show has even been made with a style like this one, it is marvelous.
Weird as always, the thing is I don't know where did they get all these crazy ideas for the episodes' beginning :D It is just amazing
The perfect anti-dote for Interstellar. Love won't save us, it the thing worth fighting for. Also, probably the longest cold open ever.
Never failed to surprise me, I have been lost a little in this episode, some parts of it was hard to interpret at first LOL XD Besides, it has the longest opening in the entire television history, FX and Marvel have been presented at the end of the episode lol XD
This will become one of my favorite quotes:
Love... isn't gonna save us.
It's what we have to save.
Pain makes us strong enough to do it.
All our scars, our
anger, our despair...
It's armor.
God loves the sinners best because our fire burns bright, bright, bright.
I cannot put into words how much I love this show.
After trying everything about love, the result is stunning : Love isn’t gonna save us, it is what we have to save... Totally mind blowing!
ho. ly. shit. That was an incredible episode of television. I'm gonna need to sit and ponder that for a long time.
That adaptation of Tom Petty's "Don't Come Around Here No More" at the end of the episode was just superb!
This show is something truly special.
After watching last week's episode, I thought Amy was written off and we would no longer see her again (seeing as she had not appeared in this season so far, it felt a bit like they were dealing with a loose end). However, she did "return" as we were treated to what other versions of David would be like, had he made different choices at certain points in his life.
This episode was quite a ride. It starts in a confusing note, taking you completely off the usual happenings of the show, but you are relatively quick to find out where you are once you get a little more information. In between David's various lives, they very subtly added events from our own David's life, I guess to show us that these were all possibilities... but then we get a "season 1 recap" and see the final moments of the previous episode again, reminding us that this is our reality.
This episode needs to be watched again to get every detail properly, but I gather that regardless of how terrible another life could be for David (from getting killed to becoming a rich prick), anything beats a reality where his sister is gone, which is incredibly sad and beautifully done.
Between this episode and the one focused on Syd's life, what a glorious show. (The Syd one is probably my favourite of all)
I believe that there is unconditional love that Lenny has for David and he has for Lenny, but Syd's love is not like that, and it makes me really sad.
Syd was very easily manipulated,I disliked that. Other than that, episode was great as always, looking forward to next weeks finale.
They've been hinting at it all season, but making David literally the villain, with heavy themes like sexual abuse involved is a tough and ridiculously bold move, and I'm not sure whether audiences will go with it. It'll be interesting to see how they deal with it in the next season.
Season 2 hasn't for me been on the same level as the spectacular S1, but Legion is still one of the most inventive, interesting and engaging shows currently on TV.
I thought it was a great season finale and I'm looking forward to see how they handle next season. I thought the opening fight was really well done and looked fantastic. The song choice was perfect. David turning into the villian is something I never really thought that possible until these last few episodes. It makes me want to go back and rewatch this season to see if I can pick up the hints.
Overall the season I thought was good but not as great as season one. This is definitely a visual experience every time I watch and nothing else on TV looks like this. The plot felt like dragged a little too long and spun its wheels in the middle of the season. 11 episodes is probably too many but if they went back to 8 or had a little more plot I think it could be a great season 3. Also not enough Aubrey Plaza this season.
What exactly happened when the Shadow King, as a spider, bit David during the fight scene, could that have possibly triggered his followed schizophrenia? In my opinion it's that what has caused David to make Syd forget ("I know what I have to do"). Also it kinda felt like the whole thing with the Shadow King still having a grasp at Division 3 and the other guys acting against David, they caused a paradox which made David actually finally turn, but only against them, not the world as they said, or at least not yet.
Why is everyone calling David the villain, buying into the narrative likely influenced by the shadow king? We know he can control other people's minds, we know of the "normal is what the masses think" idea pushed by the show. So it may very well be that they got David wrong. We never actually got to see David drug Syd or do anything bad. When he attacked people, they were bad people. Even if he did make Syd forget, which we don't know for sure, how is it worse than the shadow king having used Melanie to essentially brainwash Syd to form the view she would presumably forget?
The same time the writing is brilliant. Because the irony is: had no one tried to stop David, he would never become the future David they're trying to prevent. In the very end all the circumstances that occurred that made David into the villain (and the reasons everyone turned on him) were a result of manipulation by Faruk. He planted seeds of delusion throughout the season. I remember he said something along the lines of "It's the beauty of the execution of the plan that makes it worthwhile"
Is David a monster? Yes. But all of it were results of Faruk. The amazing thing about this season's writing is NO full absolute Truth. As it said in chapter 11 "In the end, what is the sound of truth? Waves on a beach, the laugh of a child. Or perhaps there are competing truths." David is wrong, and so is his team for going into a moral panic and trying to burn David at the steak and so willingly take Faruk's word as gospel and not even attempting to fix anything. They're dealing in absolutes, which the future is not.
Wow. Wow. Wow.
At face value I was mad but this is just NEXT level writing and forethought
This episode was ICONIC
The Lenny storyline so heartbreaking
The time beyond time was pure art
The time demons amazing and creepy
And let's not forget the zapping of Shield at our screens since the timeline got messed up in our reality as well :joy: Mr Hawley is genius
Now David is going to war.. it's kind of scary to tell the truth
Those time demons were the most epically creepy entities I have ever seen portrayed on film... they are like blue meanies on acid! Amazing episode, that will haunt me for a long time. Bring on the next one.
This episode left me speechless, one of the best episodes to date in my opinion, Lenny's story line was fascinating in many ways, so was Syd hugging herself. This show keeps surprising me, as Agents of Shield do these days, but in extremely different way. Looking forward to the next episode, Cary is gonna be in a world of hurt I assume, David's patience is running low these days, and pissing of god always has it's caveats. Also, really wanting to see different Lenny after the events of this episode, that should be very interesting, hoping David will still have her in his corner, but that might not be the case.
Contrary to popular belief, I feel like this was the first time the crazy and weird editing of the series was utilised to actually give us pure brilliance, instead of the usual weird and random just to be weird and random. The concept of the episode and how it was executed was the best I've ever seen on TV. Loved it. And those time eating demons will probably haunt my dreams. Utterly terrifying and awesome. Also the scene of David talking to his Mom to try and change the past and his life was so heartbreaking. "My life was taken from me." Ahhhh, I felt that deep in my soul.
Flight of the Conchords is back, baby!
This show has made me cry multiple times. It would not be in its fasson, had it not done so in this beautiful finale. Additionally, this show tends to take music and visuals and warp them into something so amazing, that this finale "Mother" song made me cry while sitting in my car mechanics shop. I didn't care i was crying in public. I was moved. So damn much, was I moved. Thank you for an amazing journey, Legion. I hope you can break the cycle and come out better, baby David .....
-----Pink Floyd - Mother -----
Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb
Mother do you think they'll like the song
Mother do you think they'll try to break my balls
Ooooh aah, Mother should I build a wall
Mother should I run for president
Mother should I trust the government
Mother will they put me in the firing line
Ooooh aah, is it just a waste of time
Hush now baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna make all of your
Nightmares come true
Mama's gonna put all of her fears into you
Mama's gonna keep you right here
Under her wing
she won't let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama will keep baby cosy and warm
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
Of course Mama's gonna help build the wall
Mother do think she's good enough for me
Mother do think she's dangerous to me
Mother will she tear your little boy apart
Oooh aah, mother will she break my heart
Hush now baby, baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna check out all your girl friends for you
Mama won't let anyone dirty get through
Mama's gonna wait up till you come in
Mama will always find out where
You've been
Mamma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
You'll always be a baby to me
Mother, did it need to be so high.
One of the best anti-war movies of all time. I was shaking and had heart racing the whole run-time.
One of the most memorable cinema-experiences I ever had. After the credits rolled, no one made a move for two minutes. Everyone sat quietly and thought about what they had seen. At one point early in the movie almost everyone had also stopped eating their popcorn.
Watch it in Cinema if you can. Watch it in german if you can. Watch it in german with subtitles if you must. Or wait for it's Netflix-Release. But watch "All Quiet on the Western Front" no matter what. And learn from it.
One of the most intense movies you'll ever see.
I expected something like “The Post” and got nothing like it. For a film with such a serious subject I was amazed to see how much humor they decided to put into it, and it works.
Just watched it in the Première in Rio and it was amazing.
Unlike in Argentina, in Brazil the victims of the military dictatorship never got justice, quite the opposite, the military got out scot free, with streets named after them.
Gotta applaud the Argentinian people. The most badass on the planet.
Ricardo Darín is an incredible actor. I was also pleasantly surprised by Peter Lanzani. The cinematography and art direction are fantastic.
I want to highlight the scenes of the witnesses giving testimony against the dictators. Very emotional. And also the final speech. "Nunca Mas"
A very emotional film with great direction and very good performances. It will surely become an Argentine classic.
God, what a treat to see how the magic happens. To see the passion all of them have, to see the effort just one scene takes, all the models, all the moving parts... it just further emphasizes the film's magic. I especially loved del Toro respecting and loving animation while also taking his experience as a live action director into play, so the result is a synthesis between the two mediums that trickles down from him to everyone else. Riveting stuff.
