Do not hesitate to watch this… it’s fucking there with the likes of Vikings and breaking bad… I’d even go so far as to say this show is even better than it’s original ‘Power’
I know what you´re thinking and you´re right.
Probably not a lot of people would name Magnum as one of the best TV shows off all time. But it is one of those iconic and memorable shows of the 80s that you can whatch again and again. The cast was perfect for the show, it sure was Tom Sellecks role of a lifetime. The same can probably be said for Hillerman. This isn't just another detective show it´s much more. Towards the end it became more serious and character driven which didn´t hurt. I always thought this was much more about the characters and their relations than anything else.
And on a sidenote: it was sometimes mentioned that this was more a show for the women because of Selleck. But let me remind you that some of the most gorgeous women of the 80s gueststarred on Magnum.
This looks like it could have lots of potential, definitely worth a watch.
Don't get fooled by the low score given by the usual numbnuts that vote months before the pilot was aired.
You will see a lot of known faces and some new ones. First episode was a solid start, if you like this typed of policial dramas don't miss this show.
Oh man, it's so sad to see this show go but boy! It made some wild episodes before saying goodbye. I'm still mulling over the series final but the whole season was delightful with the Mr Chocolate episode and the Goofy Movie mockumentary taking the cake as two of the funniest things to hit the small screen. Anyways, Donald Glover created something that will be studied in TV writing classes for years to come.
I had wanted to watch this for years!! Finally was able to find it and I was pleasantly surprised. Very cute film, it's a shame it's banned but I do understand the reasoning behind it. Splash Mountain makes a lot more sense now.
Never saw this since it's out of print and considered too racist. Just watching it on YouTube now to form my own opinion.
Br'er Rabbit who represents a black man is caught by a Fox who represents a white man when Br're is noosed and hanging. Scenes like that is why the film is considered racist.
After seeing Zootopia I was curious in this since Zootopia which is against racism is supposed to be pretty much the opposite of Song of the South.
If you don't spend too much time thinking about what makes it racist; the film is light-hearted and still a classic. The biggest problem with it though is that it makes it appear black people were perfectly happy as slaves.
I really enjoyed watching this great film and thought it told the story about helping Johnny deal with his problems in a beautiful way.
It is most certainly not racist and I am of the opinion that anyone who says it is racist is watching the film trying to create racism because they heard it is supposed to have it. If you don't watch it expecting some sort of racial issue, you won't find one, because there isn't actually one unless you create one.
I am deeply saddened that one of my favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom park is being changed due to political pressure and I'm glad that I'll have the childhood memories of going on the ride countless times and whistling along to Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah.
Finally, the suffering is over
The only thing I liked about this movie was Cate Blanchett's extraordinary performance.
I somehow find everyone very unlikeable.
