This adaptation is very faithful to the original, which makes the length of it make sense. However that doesn't necessarily make it very good, because it seems a few characters have been very misunderstood when acted and others just poorly acted. There are a few diversions from the book, but whenever they appear they feel random and without cause. The reason I still rate it highly is because it's still Pride And Prejudice, the story is great and they didn't ruin it completely, but they did take a masterpiece and water it down, unfortunately. I will note, that I did actually enjoy the show very much even though it's nowhere near as good as reading the book or watching the 2005 adaptation.
