This has been such an emotional roller coaster. I've been a fan of hers since 2008, seen her ups and downs and now reliving them through this movie made me feel all kinds of things. I'm so glad to see who she's become and that she's finally genuinely happy.
i can relate to edmund because i, too, would betray my whole family for turkish delight
An unexpected winner for me for Barbenheimer.
There is so much I loved about this movie. It's mainly much more emotional than I was expecting, making it a perfect balance with the comedy.
For me this movie is about growing up and seeing your children grow up. It reminded me of Boyhood at some point. Ofcourse it's mainly about womanhood and the idea of what it means to be a woman and the struggles along the way. As a guy I can't know what that feels like but the things this movie showed were very similar to things I've heard from my sisters and girlfriend.
So many great actors, seeing Ncuti Gatwa made me so excited for Doctor Who (also funny to see 3 actors from Sex Education) and Will Ferrell was hilarious. Mattel making fun of themselves was also fun.
The music was great, especially "I'm just Ken" with that amazing scene. Billie Eilish's song is very emotional, and it made me almost cry at the end.
And I loved the fourth wall breaking and the movie references!
I watched this movie when I was a kid on my first ever date.
Can't remember her name but I remember this...
Absolutely miserable adaptation of a loved Scottish classic. Saw it in an almost empty cinema with my mother (her choice) and at the end she turned to me and said, "Well. That was awful." So, so, dull. Dragged interminably.
Dumb, corny and a load of fun. Against the odds, Home Alone actually seems to be getting better with age.
i should hate this movie, but i’ve seen it so many times since i was a young girl that i can’t. this movie is so silly but it somehow hasn’t gotten that old for me. but it goes without saying: don’t bother watching any of the movies they made past 2, which are all soulless attempts to cash in on the Home Alone name.
I remember I got this Movie as a gift for VHS when I was a kid, even tho I watched it a Billion Times I can never get tried of watching it if it's on. This Movie Is one of those Movies you will always remember and see Playing Every Christmas.
I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. I think what surprised me the most is that I expected a movie about a woman that suffered from dementia and I got something altogether different. I've watched movies like Still Alice that were about people that were suffering from mental illness. The problem with those films is that - from an entertainment perspective - they are rather limited by their backdrop. Sure, you can be emotionally moved by the performances but at the end of the day you know exactly how the story is going to play out.
This film is different. While it starts out with a woman suffering from dementia it is not about a woman with dementia. The film is a study in the dynamics of family and the effects that the shortcomings of parents can have on their children. The story is delicately told and the three leads are phenomenal. I think what impressed me most is how the story played out over the final few scenes - it had to have been difficult to lose sight of the bigger story and to avoid clichés. I thought they nailed it.

A navel gazing woman makes terrible romantic choices and then pouts because her actions have consequences. Meanwhile, there's no story line, no narrative arc and the characters don't evolve as the film ends with no ending. At least if I were straight, I could've appreciated Juliette Binoche's breasts and cleavage, which seem to be the star of the film.
Meandering french alcoholics binded by deep voids they fill with sexual proclivities perform hilarious long scenes of dialogue overwrought with inane existential banter dripping with dark comedic pathos. If you dig Truffaut, Jarmusch or Venders you’ll love it.
I'd like to preface this review by saying that I know this movie does not deserve a 2. In a world devoid of morals and of ethics regarding filmmaking and the making of art, I would give it a 10, but we live in a world where the mere existence of such an atrociously sinful film means that quite a bit of sin was committed during it's making.
While those who are not religious may strongly disagree with me and I too may look back on this review and wince, I simply do not believe that the message this movie sends was worth depicting brutal, sadistic, and graphic rape. I both am grateful and regret the fact that I have seen this film and I feel dirty having watched it and rightfully so.
Much of the material Kubrick presents on screen during this film amounts to little more than sadistic porn. Nudity is gratuitous and I violence is painted over with disturbingly artistic flair. What Kubrick misses the opportunity to do is to allow the audience's imagination to fill in the blanks instead of forcing people to carry out the acts on screen. The book this film is based on succeeds in that it is horrifying without needing people to act it out.
I realize that this is a terrible review, but for your sake and for the sake of others who will have to live with your mind after this film, urdge you to not watch this. They say it is a masterpiece and it is - but it is one that requires prolonged exposure to the worst of humanity in ways that are simply unjustifiable.
