Weighing in as a book reader. I was disappointed with episode 6 being completely made up, not following the book. Well, they made up episode 7 too. The audacity of these show directors is mind boggling.
They actually did a pretty good job bringing the source material to the screen, but they absolutely butcherd it when they wrote original material. This is the same dumb and dumber director duo behind the last season of Game of Thrones, which they completely made up and ruined the series. BUT! They had good reason to do so, since Martin never finished the final book.
The Three Body Problem series is a complete trilogy. There was absolutely no reason to write an original plot...for two whole episodes out of an eight episode season. I can overlook the creative freedom they took with the characters. I just can't overlook them having the audacity to write their own plot.
Book 2 even goes into great detail about how nukes don't work in space (no atmosphere, no boom) and these two morons writing the show make nukes in space a major part of the plot. WHAT?! A complete slap in the face to Cixin Liu.

I'm holding space for the fact that i might be a dumb dumb but I truly don't understand the purpose of this season. like broadly what the overarching goals of the story are. the shift from season 1s serialized plot structure to more episodic fair is deeply confusing for me

The show was portrayed everywhere as "sexy", they aren't portraying it as negative. It just the male gaze, nothing more.

That was a perfect episode! Nothing boring or poorly written at all! Emmy award winning performances by the entire cast!!! Unicorns were flying out of people's butts and no one's poop smelled bad anymore. Thrones is back baby!

In reality, after three episodes I find no one interesting at all and there's no standout performances whatsoever. The CGI makes me feel like I'm watching some penny-pinching Netflix production. Everything is so predictable in this episode just like last week. What a dumb-downed poorly written screenplay this is turning out to be...can't wait until the big time jump...

More and more this show seems to be merely a vehicle of propaganda, or called so lately with the nicer word "Platform". There is little Lovecraft in this series and the only things in there are random easter eggs you can find scattered throughout (like the title of this episode).
There are plenty of sexscenes in these episode, which is fine, but it's filler in a show where already nothing much happens. We learn something new sure but it doesn't mean a thing. I do not care a character is gay, I do not care a character isn't what they seem and I do not care about the love angles.
I care about Lovecraft and his stories, his world, his mythos... of which there is too little of.
PS I didn't know someone could have SO much spit.

WTF are you kidding? Ra'Jah can't dance really well, can't act, she's not funny and doesn't have a big personality, doesn't have good runways, she's not memorable at all and she was saved? Even if Scarlett was send home just based on this challenge i don't think she deserved it! She was very consistent and week after week she look amazing on runway, i mean, she literally was robbed last episode.

By definition Fascism would be a regime led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticis, emphasizing an aggressive nationalism (in this case, an ideal). Well, the whole City of Lights's plot is a radical form of facism, turning people into "zombies" against their will. And I don't have to detail the Pike's violent regime.
We really need a season two.
