Angels and Demons falling in love. About as thought provoking as a Hallmark Channel special.
How the mighty have fallen!! After a spectacular first season, the second looks like it was written as fan fiction.
Instead of focusing on the main story (Gabriel missing) and taking advantage of Jon Hamm’s comedic abilities, it kept bringing in new storylines and characters, only for all to be a MacGuffin! As someone else pointed out, this is a Hallmark movie!
I watched this a couple weeks ago but I can't stop thinking about it. Mainly because of Darren Criss and his portrayal of Cunanan. One of the best acting perfomances I have ever seen.
This second season was hardly about Gianni Versace. Probably about 3-4 eps were focused around his murder while the rest of the eps were about the killer with some small scenes of Versace.
I wasn’t a fan of the way they told the story backwards. It made me lose interest and get bored knowing what had already to the characters.
the episodes, when considered separately, are pretty great. the cast is stellar, with Darren Criss giving the performance of his career. the direction and art direction, in general, are good too.
but the way they tell this story reversed hurts this season as a whole. the suspension and the momentum of the story are lost. that’s why most episodes in this season is an 8 or a 9 for me, but the season as a whole is only 7
