I really enjoyed watching this. Yes, it's relatively easy entertainment but I don't see this as a negative. The show is well produced, they captured the era really good. Everything, from the overall look to the costumes and makeup is convincing. They put together an amazing cast that complements each other perfectly.
I know something of that time as I have always ha a keen interestin the space race. I've seen about every show and documentary about it and this show doesn't need to hide itself. Give it a try.

Beautiful footage of a beautiful country. But it´s not only pictures, I actually learned something new.
I have a keen interest in WWII history and the hardware that comes along with that topic but that show is to testosterone driven.
One of the better car shows. There isn´t that much stuff going on aside the build/repair. Yes, there are the usual hickups and bumps in the road but at least this is the only show I know off that doesn´t pretend to do a complete resto in 5 days time.
If you are about my age then chances are you have seen Captain Future in the past. Maybe he was one of your childhood heroes. Although originally aimed at teenagers and/or adults the show became very popular with kids.
Some things that didn´t bother me as a child: Every story had four parts. In Germany, with one exception, they took the four parts and made it a three parter with a lot of content ending on the cutting room floor. When I watch it now, as an adult, I notice that huge parts of the story are missing, there are gaping holes in the continuity of the plots.
I still love the show. After all - how do you abandon a childhood hero?
Probably the unhealthiest food on the planet but, man, that stuff looks so tasty. Unfortunately there is a whole ocean that seperates me.
It´s "The Muppets" not "The Muppet Show" so don´t expect a remake of the 70´s format. This is a totally different, more modern, take and one should approach it as such. Me, I like it and I´m looking forward to see how it will develop
I would have liked to see more of the actual restoration work, more detail. There are so many documentarys already.
I´m normally not into this kind of show - medical drama that is. Saw Kelly Reilly somewhere else and I wanted to see something else from her. Well, Kelly is great in this one but the show in general - I don´t know.
It´s entertaining but I have some issues. It´s weird that about half of the characters working in a neurological institute have themselves mental problems of some kind. What are the odds ? The brilliant surgeon who sleeps with every nurse and than falls in love with the beautiful doctor at the clinic - a bit to cliché. That love caroussel, the on-again-off-again relationship/engagement, the one night stand that becomes a stalker - the show tries to be too much without beeing outstanding in any one part.
Maybe if it would have gotten another season it might have played out satisfactory. And here is where I´m getting more and more anrgy with Networks nowadays. I went into this fully aware it was a cancelled show. But please, if you do cancel, do so in time for the writers to get at least some form of closure.
Rating is 6 for the show and +1 for Kelly.
This is great. Even with the names involved I didn´t expect this level of quality from a TV show. Great Cast, loved Michael Keaton.
I needed one episode, or to be exact 15 minutes of it, to decide that this it not worth my time.
As a successor to the original Professionals this is an epic failure. Thin charaters, poor acting, weak story - the whole setup is wrong. Even if you view it as a stand alone show - this is bad with a capital "B". There are better shows of that genre. I can absolutely understand this didn´t get more than 13 episodes.
After going through the first and part of the second episode I quit.
This was the first time I watched something out of the trakt recommendation. Maybe I shouldn´t have.
The show hasn´t alot to do with the Army or the war in Afghanistan. The whole plot, the taglines are very misleading. The pilot promised something that the show didn´t deliver. This is really a love story, and not a very original one. It´s the old boy loves girl but girl loves other boy. Everything else is pretty much just a background for that. Which is kind of a shame ´cause it had promising moments. But as mentioned this whole romance stuff is killing it. And I won´t even go into detail how I think it´s a bit weird that you become a field medic after just going through basic and having no medical education.
So from where I stand this was dissapionting. Music was great, though.

In addition to my earlier comment I´d like to add that I obviously missed something in the plot.
Between the Pilot and the series is a one year period in which she took Combat Medical Training. At the end of the Pilot she went to Afghanistan, then in Episode 1 she is back in the UK and deployed again. This is a bit confusing.
Taking into account that this is 50 years old this really is entertaining. I liked Fireball XL5 so it was logical to go with this. You recognioze the amount of work and dare I say love that went into this even if the stories from our point of view now apear silly.
Well, another car builder format. And it follows the same rules as the other ones - building cars for an unrealistic budget in a timeframe that can´t be done. So why do I watch it ? I´m a car nut and it´s the before-after effect I want to see. The rest I just ignore.
You´ve got to give it to the BBC, they know how to make great documentaries. The amount of work they put into this is amazing. They came up with the most awesome footage of sharks I´ve ever seen. Whether you´re interested in sharks alone or in sea life in general this is higly recommended.
Very dissapointed by this one. I´m very interested in sharks but this is more like a soap than a serious documentary. Didn`t made it through the third episode.
As much as I love shows about cars, especially classics, I could have done without those stiff moderators and their scripted commentary. As much as the content is concerned this is more a show about the lifestyle and less about the history and technical part of classic cars.
You have to take into account when this was made but I had a lot of fun watching this.
About what I expected. Not to overdramatic which is a plus. I wish there would have been more detail but maybe they can`t do it for security reasons. But they show that it takes a lot of work and dedication to become a fighter pilot. And sometimes not even that is enough.
When I first read the plot I thought this could be interesting, something new. But it became something else entirely - and in the process unfortunately not so new and interesting.
Well, another car building show. I like the idea with the hoards and Rick Dore sure has a name in the business. But what is it with these car shows there is so much garbage going on besides the build. Why has there to be constant fighting about almost everything. What´s the deal? First of all it´s not very convincing, it looks and feels staged. And second we all know that in the end they get it done and everything will be fine. So why not just concentrate on the build. I think that would make these shows a lot better.
This stuff is old. And by old I mean really old. Newest material is from early/mid 80ies, most of it though from the 60s. It´s not a typical docu, it`s a recollection oftentimes only the pictures without any narrative. Still with hours of original and untampered footage this has some merit. But propably only if you really have an interest in the subject.
If you´re interested in the technical aspect of the ships skip this because it´s more about the cruise, the destinations and less about the ships. More like a travel channel documentation. They are showing some very nice places, though.
Personally, I don't like the short 25m format 'cause it only touches the minimum facts of each topic. Other than that there`s nothing wrong with it.
It's not bad in general. Unfortunately they are using the same footage over and over again even within one episode. So while this still is original footage it sure isn`t always from the event they are talking about.
I really like Mike but I too miss Ed.
Still entertaining. You get a nice insight on the car culture in different countries.
It's always hard to rate a SF show almost 40 years after it has been produced because from todays point of view it all seems so naive. So what to do ? Rate it to comparable shows in its timeframe. Three are coming to my mind: Galactica, U.F.O. and Space 1999. Compared to those Buck Rogers rates dead last.
Even by the standards of the 80s the sets, props and effects are weak. They recycled a lot of the Galactica stuff including the sounds which shouldn't be surprising since it's another Glen A Larson show. Seems to be produced on a very small budget and since the writing isn't good either I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but the die hardest SF fan.
I liked the Movie but the show is a great step backwards. Of course that's only my personal opinion
Got the DVD Box for 1$ and to be honest I thought it to be an indicator that the show might be crap.
Well, it's not crap it just isn't great either. Writing is OK, storys are what you expect from that kind of show. Acting is mediocre but it's not important. The real downer for me is that it is what I expected it to be: a Stingray copycat. And in that regard it fails. They even used a lot of footage from Stingray. Towards the end of the show they seemed to be writing the storys more and more to accomodate the older Stingray footage. But it doesn't even come close.
I strongly recommend to whatch Stingray instead of this.
The main focus lies on the civil/public side of aviation so if you`re more interested in military aviation you won't find much in this show.
Nevertheless still a well made and informative magazine show.
