The episode list is completely messed up here, how do I report it?
I feel sorry for Glenn Howerton having his name attached to this obvious tragedy that the show will be.
Quite interesting and pretty astonishing that some of these 'experts' simply avoid or can't answer this simple question, at least the dictionary has the answer..
What Is a Woman?
- An adult female person.
What Is a Female?
- A person bearing two X chromosomes in the cell nuclei and normally having a vagina, a uterus and ovaries, and developing at puberty a relatively rounded body and enlarged breasts, and retaining a beardless face; a girl or woman.
- An organism of the sex or sexual phase that normally produces egg cells.
This is a great documentary because it does not fall into the easy trap of being cynical mean-spirited criticism, but is rather a series of reasonable questions being posed to unreasonable people. It's fascinating how there is such a concerted effort to characterize asking questions which the gender politics community prefers not to be voiced as "transphobic". There is a concerning social development happening in the West and this is an important film and subject of inquiry. Recommended.
Edit: Trakt has hidden this and other comments on this movie. Wasn't aware this was another censorious platform. That's discouraging.
What is a woman? You are either Male, Female or Hermaphrodite the rest is made up. You either have a penis or a vagina... If you cut of your penis and take hormones you are still a male with a cut off penis that's taking female hormones. Two of the chromosomes (the X and the Y chromosome) determine your sex as male or female when you are born. They are called sex chromosomes: Females have 2 X chromosomes. Males have 1 X and 1 Y chromosome. If there are extra chromosomes its very rare and a defect. What is this clown world? You can't argue with facts...
I have nothing against transgenders but let's keep it real! It's the same when I would identify myself as a male cat while you clearly see a human female. And I can't expect anyone to change reality and enter my imaginary delusional bubble and call me a male cat. Just because you feel like something doesn't make it reality. Just like Martina Big isn't a black woman, Dennis Avner isn't a tiger and Rodrigo Alves isn't a Ken Doll. But again if you are a male and you really want to live your life as a female go do what makes you happy! Live your life as a transgender! But don't claim to be something you are not just because you feel like it.
I really wanted to quote this:
Matt: "I want to understand reality and get to the truth."
Professor Dr. Patrick Grzanka: Yea, I'm really uncomfortable with that language "getting to the truth" because that sounds deeply transphobic to me and if you keep going we are going to stop the interview. The word truth is condescending and rude"
This felt more like More WOKE, Virtue Signalling than our Science based Star Trek we've all come to love. Nevertheless, being a Sci-Fi fan, I tried to ignore the Virtue Signalling and relaxed into the episode, which felt it was based on Emotion and trying to make the Audience feel good,.... Then, BOOM, the Woke culture slapped me around the face again when Earths president walked off the shuttle and all I saw was Freaking !!!Stacey Abrams!!! and the whole WOKE Culture was thrown to the forefront of my mind.... Thanks for Ruining what could have been an awesome Star Trek!... I hope Strange New Worlds with Captain PIKE doesn't go down this road.
Literally the worst pile of emotional garbage ever. Completely predictable and all characters appear to have the emotional maturity of a 12 year old. What a waste of intellectual property.
"The Batcave is literal perfection."
"It will be...when it becomes a kitchen."
Absolute trash. This show has gone down the pan. Political agenda.. switch off.
I didn't like the race issue that they pushed down our throat in the scene of Dembe and his daughter.
The phrase "you moved from working to one white man, to working with white man with badges" is quite racist and if ot was said with any other race instead of whites it would get a congressional hearing.
I really thought that scene was too much...
From time to time I revisit Moonbase Alpha because it is still one of my favorites of all time and I associate a lot of memories with it. It was something we watched as a family and something I played as a kid.
There were some really good scripts in this first season and, yes, some bad ones too. Oftentimes though the good ideas were pulled down by cringe-worthy dialogue. It comes with the time and place this show was produced. It wasn't as sophisticated as Star Trek had been but I loved it nonetheless (I actually watched Trek much, much later). The 70s design fit really well and the modells they built looked great (if you know Anderson TV shows you know what I mean). Most people who are watching it today for the first time will put it among the silly 70s scifi show category. But those of us who knew it from back then will always appreciate it.
I have now watched it on BluRay for the first time and can absolutely recommend them. It's amazing how well they remastered this. The details are amazing and I have discovered things I have never noticed before. If you are a fan and haven't watched it in HD do so. You won't be dissapointed.
"Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind..",
Ooooh, womens stronk!
Honestly, you lost me at "Social Justice".
Undoubtedly, this film is a wonderfully crafted sci-fi for its age. The care that has gone into the sets, acting and script is illustrated in a colourful and well-detailed way during the film. Throughout, it's visual effects are effective, and the thoroughness that has been implemented into both costume design and sets in this modernised age becomes appreciative. Thus, the story is finely written and provides a viewing which is comfortable and easy to follow for all viewers. I found this film very enjoyable to watch and recommend this to anyone who is both into sci-fi and classic films.
Pete Davidson is in this movie then this is a hard pass for me. Everytime I see his face I want to punch it.
It's really bad, on one hand it tries to do ridiculous satirical comedy, but it also tries to be very serious.
Add to that so blatant racism, not for the sake of story but for "comedy" effect.
I'm guessing the writers are not fans of white and asian people.
Oh and lest i forget, the sexualisation of little kids in this movie is disturbing.
Poor writing, filled with clichés and a little bad acting, but that is expected from a kids movie in contrary to the insinuations in the beginning. The beginning is filled with sexual innuendos. This isn't the same as "kids think like that too" type situation, they are being sexualised, it's weird.
