It was alright. I dont expect great story from a movie which itself shot to prominence on its gun play and action sequences. It delivers enough of that to keep you interested. It is the beginning of a story. Whether we get a Season 2 depends on the views it garners. I dont have any complaints about it but the show is not necessarily Must Watch. The setting makes it easy to get some great Music tracks but you also worry how much that of that Music rights cost them. Its an interesting offshoot that has potential. I do think the 3rd Episode stretched things out a bit in spite it being the most action loaded. I definitely will watch an S2, whether we get it is another question.
S2 was definitely better than S1. The focus away from the teenage actors to more seasoned actors has definitely helped with that. the S1 Matt recasting incident continues to play out in S2 and there are some deviations from the book. But then again there are quite a few deviations and that is understandable given that the medium is different and the way the story is told needs to be changed accordingly. Finale was definitely better than S1
Captain Marvel/Billy Batson was hilarious. But then the other stuff was more heavy especially the ending
Rajni has delivered a must watch movie for fans after a long time. He has had a bad run because what used to work for him didnt as he was aging and it wasnt realistic to see him do the stuff he did in the 90s. Jailer, has a great cast. The appearance of big stars in smaller roles, seems like a set up for their own movies. Which will be great of course, if they get a decent story for those movies.
Humor is great. Rajni and Yogi Babu are awesome together. Action sequences are realistic for Rajni's age. Worth the watch.
